Family Reunion!
Nina was.......nervous to say the least. All this time, she believed her father died and that it was all her fault.....but he's still alive and he's been looking for her, for his daughter!
Bride had a mix of emotions, she's beyond happy to be rid of Erik forever and she and Nina just have to worry about the dangers of the missions........if Nina was going to stay with the team. It's been bouncing in her head since the League helped them.
All she wants is for Nina to be happy......and if that means losing her forever and going back to suffer the loneliness once again, it would be worth it to see her Angel Fish smile.....
She was brought out of her thoughts as the military helicopter landed in the middle of a forest clearing. The team was definitely confused.
"Your dad lives like Davy Crocket?" Phosphorus asks, only to be lightly, least in her opinion, punched in the arm by Bride, "Oww! The Hell was that for?"
"Just shut the fuck up, Ghost Rider!" Bride's insult surprised Phosphorus, not the insult itself, but the fact it was just so......lazy, where's her head at now- oh, oooooh.....
"I'm also worried she'll leave the team....." Phosphorus responded, watching Bride's glare soften......only for it to become an even fiercer glare, which Phosphorus raised his hands in surrender, "Alright, alright.....no talking about personal shit, I got it."
As everyone exited, Nina took notice of the massive lake......was her father a step ahead if he ever found her and got both of them off the grid. She was brought out of her thoughts when a hand touched her shoulder and she turned to see the worried face of Bride.
"Nina, you alright?"
"Y-yeah......it's just, been so long......" Bride noticed how Nina's sad face showed guilt........
Bride brought her in for a hug, relaxing Nina somewhat.
"Alright, this is the place." Flagg announced as the team approached a log cabin with solar panels, windmill, and even a watermill, "Damn.......scientists definitely know how to live independently....."
"So.......am I the only whose worried her dad might've become paranoid and might shoot at us?" Phosphorus suddenly asked, which earned glares from practically all his teammates, "What.......we were all thinking that....."
"Oh for fuck's sake," Bride lost her patience and suddenly knocked the door, "Hello! Hello! Is there a Dr. Mazursky in the-"
BANG!
Bride was soon sent flying by a massive blast that created a hole, which everyone watched in abject worry and horror.
"Wuh, wuh, wuh......" Onomatopoeia responded.
"I fucking called it!" Phosphorus said smugly, which he immediately took back as Bride sat up, no worse for wear and glaring at Phosphorus. Nina immediately rushed to her side.
"Bride, are you okay!?" Nina asked, seemingly panicking.
"Yeah.....I'm fine, ya dad's got a Hell of a gun in there." Bride responds.
"Don't try anything!" Everyone heard from inside, "None of you are going to stop me from finding my little girl!"
Nina's eyes widened as she more than recognized, a voice she thought she'd never hear again. She turns to Bride, who simply gives an encouraging nod and Nina stood straight up.
"Daddy....." A silence hung in the air.....then the door slowly opened, and had a face partially appeared, and his single eye that showed widened.
"Nina......." The door slowly opened all the way.......showing Nina's father, Dr. Edward Mazursky, formerly the renowned scientist in bio-genetics, "Is.....is it really......"
Nina and her father rushed to eachother and embraced, Nina's arms around her father's neck as he wrapped one arm around her shoulders and his other cradled his daughter's head.
They soon separated and Edward suddenly noticed something.
"Nina! Where's your-"
"Daddy, I don't need it, I can breath now!" Nina interrupted, watching as her father's face showed a mixture of emotions, happiness, shock, and tears falling from his eyes, and he hugged his daughter again.
"I don't believe it......I've prayed for so long, searched everywhere I could.......I thought I lost you forever......" Her father was just so overjoyed.
"Daddy, I have so much to tell you," Nina instantly said, making everyone nervous, "but first.......let me introduce you to my friends!"
Nina instantly rushed to the now standing Bride, who Nina grabbed her arm and started pulling.
"Nina, no, no Nina this is a very bad idea!" Bride tried protesting, she was strong enough that she could've ripped her arm free, but she couldn't do such to Nina, who still smiled. Fuck! Why does she have to be so adorable?
"It's a great idea, c'mon!" Nina kept pulling and reassuring, before stopping in front of her confused father, "Daddy! I want you to meet my girlfriend, Bride!"
Edward's face became one of confusion and shock, before he started to observe Bride more closely.......then it clicked.
"Bride? As in The Bride of Frankenstein?" Bride rolled her eyes, why was that everyone's first question.
"I, uh, I don't really have a name," Bride confessed, "folks just came around to calling me that, so it stuck........also, yes, I'm your daughter's girlfriend, don't even try to shoot me again!"
"Bride!"
"What? He shot me not five, fucking, minutes ago!" Edward suddenly realized!
"Oh God, I'm so sorry!" Edward suddenly said, "I had no idea who you were!!"
"It's fine, really," No reason for the father to feel guilt, or for the two to start off on the wrong foot already, "I've been shot by worse."
Edward stood frozen in confusion and shock, his daughter was dating the literal Bride of Frankenstein. He didn't care Nina was gay, he was actually happy she found someone, but.....
"So," Nina said, bringing her father out of his thoughts, "let me introduce you to the rest of my friends."
Friends! Nina finally made friends......who were just as......unique as she is, but definitely look far more intimidating......except the one man who reminded Edward of a military man.
"C'mon," Nina said, taking her father's hand and guiding him to each of her friends, "this is Rick Flagg Sr., my superior."
Flagg extended his hand.
"A pleasure sir," Flagg said, "you should be proud of your daughter, she's incredibly exceptional."
Edward shook Flagg's hand......yet narrowed his eyes. He never trusted the military, they always wanted to use his research for war and weapons, but of Nina trusted this Flagg......he would tolerate the man. Nina then dragged her father in front of.......a robotic soldier?
"This is my best friend, G.I.Robot!" Edward observed the machine more closely, there was something.......familiar about him.
"Hello sir, G.I.Robot is honored to meet the biological father of friend Nina," G.I.Robot greets in his usual, friendly manner, "We have killed many people similar to Nazi's together!"
Everyone snickered as Nina smacked her own face in embarrassment as her father's eyes widen in panic.
"Kill!" He knew it, these military bastards took his little girl and trained her to kill!
"She is part of our team!" Flagg intercepted, "But she's not fighting, she's reconnaissance and helping Khalis!"
"Who!?" Helping who now!? Some foreign dictator!? His rage and paranoia died down when Nina realized something and suddenly ran over to.......is that a mummy!?
Nina cradled the mummy's arm, who turned his gaze to her and gave her a small smile. Edward then watched as she helped the mummy move slowly, appearing like a nurse at a retirement home. He be so proud if he wasn't on edge.
Nina and the mummy looking guy were soon in front of him, the mummy then bowed to Edward, confusing the man further.
"Good morn to you, sir, I am Khalis," Khalis explains, "I was the high priest of the Pharoah in the times of Egypt."
Edward at first thought this is merely an elderly person with Schizophrenia......until he took a closer look at the old man. His limbs moved with such stiffness, Edward almost winced every time his joints cracked. What he could see of Khalis's skin was beyond bleached it cracked in many places. Even his eyes appeared to be almost lifeless.
"He's an actual mummy......." What kind of people are hanging out with Nina......
Nina then showed Edward the rest of her friends,
Ultra Humanite, former renowned scientist turned supervillain, who turns out to have helped her study for her online college courses,
Doctor Phosphorus, a other former renowned scientist turned supervillain, who told Edward if he's really smiling or not, and he couldn't shake hands with Edward since shaking hands would melt his hands,
Medusa.......the Medusa! The Bride of Frankenstein and Medusa the Gorgon!?
Weasel.......was busy, he at least he hoped so, cleaning himself......moving on.
Grundy, a massive behemoth of a.......is that a zombie!? He seemed mentally slow, but something about it seemed charming.
Onomatopoeia, who he hoped was a human, simply made noises? Nina explained he's mentally unable to be vocal with sentences, simply mimicking noises.
Ok......now he's incredibly concerned.....but as he watched, he saw how each of them cared for Nina and how happy they all made her.
He was soon tapped on the shoulder by Rick Flagg Sr. Edward narrowed his eyes as what he could suspect just some jarhead whose holding his daughter hostage.
"Dr. Mazursky," Flagg says quietly, "I understand why you suspect us. Well, you're right to be, I serve under Senator Amanda Waller for the shadowy government business called ARGUS. They were the ones who ordered her capture. And they......including myself.....were gathering these individuals to counter any threat. In short, ARGUS turned your daughter into a slave."
Every word that came out of Flagg's mouth simply enraged Edward further, he wanted to punch this self-righteous, holier than thou douchebag in the face!......until Flagg continued.
"In 24 hours, the American Government will apprehend all ARGUS individuals and agents......not including the team before us. Soon, a new branch for the government called S.H.A.D.E., Super Human Advanced Defense Executive.....and.....we would be honored if you become one of our lead scientists along with your daughter....."
How dare he- wait.....along with his daughter.....
"You already signed her up!" Edward yelled at the top of his lungs, startling everyone, then swung his fist.......completely missing Flagg's face and falling over onto the ground face first.
"Daddy!" Nina yelled as she rushed to her father's side, who instantly grabbed her arm.
"Please tell me they didn't force into this, please!"
"Daddy.......I signed up of my own free will." Nina confessed, "I'm apart of something bigger than myself and I can be accepted and help."
"But-"
"Hey, I......uh.....hate to interrupt," Phosphorus said, "but Nina actually is important on the team......and the team’s psychiatrist...."
"Wha....." Edward turned his gaze back to Nina.
"Yeah.......I'm the team psychiatrist," Nina confessed, smiling awkwardly, "and I made progress helping everyone......"
"Yeah," Phosphorus chuckled, "I can finally talk about my wife and kid almost casually."
"And G.I.Robot no longer asks if anyone we're killing are Nazi's since they are no longer a major threat," G.I.Robot added, "Now G.I.Robot asks if the enemy we are killing are similar to Nazi's!".
Wait......how was she able to......nevermind......he simply gazed back to his daughter and saw how happy it made her to hear them let her know she belongs with them, and she wanted to.......
"You really want this....." He never seen his daughter looking so happy, "Alright.......but I'm joining to keep an eye on you, Flagg!"
At first, everyone chuckled at Edward's comment......until they realized Flagg wasn't joining in.
"That won't be necessary, Dr. Mazursky," Flagg explains, "a vehicle will be here to pick me up for my involvement."
The leaves all flew about, everyone looks up to see.......was the BatPlane. Everyone said their goodbyes to Flagg, then he extended his hand to Edward.
"I hope you and your daughter enjoy working for Bride," Everyone's, including Bride's eyes widened!
"What!?" Flagg smiled lightly.
"The team needs a leader, and Bride is just that leader......" Bride looked uncertain until she saw the smile on Nina's face, which helped her nerves greatly.
"Well, least I don't have to listen to your high and mighty, self-righteous dick anymore!" Bride joked/insulted Flagg, who smiled at her joke.
"I'll miss you too......" Flagg responds as he walks toward the BatPlane.
At first, Nina shed some tears as she watched the man who she owed her life to, walk away from the team. Her tears stopped when she felt her father's hand on her shoulder, and Bride's hand in hers. She could finally be......happy......
