The Heart Returns

 "Don't worry, friend Nina! We may not have found anyone similar to Nazi's to kill, but eventually we will find them!" G.I.Robot said as he marched through the forest, Nina keeping up with an even pace.

  G.I.Robot was using his standard body, his only weapons were the rifles in his arms. His Tank body was with the rest of the squad. 

 Nina didn't mind, his standard body made her nostalgic of their first mission.....except the dying part, she didn't care for that.

 She was, however, very happy to be alive. Thanks to Khalis, the team’s newly appointed medic, who rode in the other truck, he claims that Nina is similar to Bride now. She's not sure what to think about the immortality, but if she and Bride can make sure they work through their problems, it should definitely be the greatest thing in her life.

 Nina was brought out of her train of thought when she noticed G.I. no longer moving. She was almost getting concerned until he turned and pointed downwards.

 "Friend Nina! G.I.'s compass has led us right to the canals the general wanted us to find." Nina sighed in relief, he only stopped so he wouldn't fall over into the canals.

 "Alright, I'll get ready, G.I.!" Nina was more excited by the fact she now contributes to the team rather than be the load.

 As she took off her suit, G.I. rotated his head away, Nina thinking he was keeping his sensors aware of any ambushes......or peeping toms. In reality, G.I. was simply protecting her modesty.

 Nina, now as naked as the day she was born, save for a camera necklace she wore, dove into the canals.

-Back with the rest of the team-

 Bride was sitting near the radio's, just in case Nina had to radio in for an extraction......or if Eric found her.

 How she hated that bastard! He ruined every good or happiest moments in her life for the past 200 years. Why couldn't he take a fucking hint! She swore that if he even tries to go near Nina-

 Her thoughts are interrupted by loud footsteps, and she sees Flagg walk and pull a chair so he can be seated in front of her, facing her........

 For the next few minutes until Bride gets tired.

 "What?"

 "What what?

 "Oh, the soldier makes jokes! Punch me, I'm dreaming!" Bride says sarcastically.

  *sighs* "Look....I understand why you're worried....."

 "Worried? I assure you my panties are so untwisted, I'm not even wearing them!" Bride tried to make the conversation go a different route.....

 Flagg was undeterred, "Worried about Nina's safety?" 

 Bride's eyes widened in surprise and embarrassment......until she saw Flagg look at her, not pity, but understanding.

 "How could I not be.....trouble always follows that girl......."

 "I understand how you feel....."

 "How! She's the best fucking thing to return to my shitty existence in 200 years! And on our shitty assassination job, I go and got her killed! Now that's....she's back.....I just....How could you understand!"

 "My son looked up to his old man like a hero.....so he joined to be just like his old man. A great career....and a better man than his father.....until he got killed serving his country....." Bride's eyes soften, remembering that it was always a sensitive topic for Flagg, "We all swore, not sure about Weasel but we all agreed that he agreed too, that we'll do everything in our power to keep her as far from death as possible."

 The Bride gave Flagg a saddened look.

 "You can't guarantee that.....not in this line of work...."

 "Maybe not.....but that's what a squad does, makes impossible promises. It pushes us to have eachother's backs." Flagg may have had his doubts about the Commandos when he first lead them, but after fighting with them side-by-side, surviving death again and again, he couldn't picture a better team he could trust more.

 The Bride gave him a small smile.

 "Besides, have you met the other teammates, the ones who were on the other truck?"

 "Ya mean Khalis and the soldiers?"

 "Nope, guess he hasn't woken up, yet."

 "He?" Before Flagg could answer, they both heard a scream.

 "Holy fuck!" Bride could swear that was Phophserus, which prompted Bride and Flagg to go outside, and Bride's eyes widened.

 The figure before them was a massive, hulking figure with chalk white skin and hair, his eyes red as blood. He wore a suit that was nearly shredded to rags and a noose around his neck. He lumbered around, a distant and lost look on his face, but everyone was on edge since this behemoth was one of the most dangerous inmates.

 "Solomon Grundy!? Solomon fucking Grundy, born on a fucking Monday, Solomon Grundy!?" Bride exclaimed with fury.

 "What? It was Waller's idea?" Flagg responded.

 "He's a fucking zombie! And unlike me, his brain is as empty as between Phophserus's legs!"

 "Hey! What the fuck!?" Phophserus yelled.

 "Look, I was able to convince her to give us more muscle.......I was expecting more King Shark or Blockbusterm....kinda wish she did, but I'm sure he'll be useful." Bride was unconvinced.

 "Or, Brother Night is successful at raising of the undead and hey, hear me out.......gains control of every mindless zombie by a million fucking mile radius! And oh looky there! A fucking zombie behemoth that can trade blows with alien gods!!!" She soon felt the ground shaking and a massive shadow cover her.......she looked up to see Grundy towering over her.

 As Brode reached slowly for one of her guns, Grundy spoke.....

 "Grundy want to help......Grundy want to protect fish girl too...."

 Okay.....she wasn't expecting that.

 "Why?"

 "Fish girl nice to Grundy......talks to Grundy when Grundy sad.......fish girl is Grundy's friend....."

 Of course, that girl could make friends with a rock......hmmm.....might be useful......she'll just have to trust Flagg on this. She relaxed her stance, but kept a guarded watch on Grundy.

 Grundy then lumbered to a different part of the camp. It seems when he's not rampaging, he was very docile.....

 "Hello....command....come in...." The radio suddenly said, which Bride nearly trampled Flagg to answer it.

 "Hello! Nina, is that you!? Are you safe!?" 

 "Ssshhhhhh, Bride, be quiet!" Nina quietly yelled, "I'm in the cave.......I haven't seen any sign of Brother Night.....should I look around?"

 Flagg had a difficult time getting the radio from Bride......

 "This is Flagg, if you don't see any sign of Brother Night, find anything that might give us a clue as to how Night plans on raising his army, then get out as quickly and quietly as you can."

 "Roger, sir......" Nina confirmed, "can you....put Bride back on...."

 Obviously, being alone in a cave with a mystical megalomaniac would make anyone nervous. Flagg didn't even flinch as Bride snatched the Radio from him.

 "I'm here, baby," Bride said in a worried tone, "you sure you're alright?"

 "I'll be fine....." Bride noticed that Nina seems to have gone back to being her timid self, "I just need to gather info, then head back.....simple, right? I'm good at sneaking around...."

 Bride smiled, Nina wasn't the strongest of them or even the most skilled.....but she was braver than most.

 "Yeah, Angelfish, your the best sneakiest person, I've ever met....." Bride's smile turned to a worried frown, "Just please, be careful....."

 "Don't worry about that......soon as I get enough info, I'm out of here....gotta go....need to keep radio silence."

 Once Bride heard her radio turn off, she nearly slumped onto the table.

 "Fffffuuuuuuck.......why couldn't we send someone else...."

 "Cause Waller didn't want to waste taxpayer money on soldiers.....as usual....you shouldn't worry, G.I.'s waiting for her at the entrance. He'll get her back safe and sound."

-Canal entrance-

 G.I.Robot stood still as a statue, waiting for Nina to pop out so they can run to rendezvous with the others.

 "I wonder how many enemies similar to Nazi's I will be able to kill with friend Nina?" G.I. said to no but himself......till a lumbering presence appeared behind him.

 G.I.'s head turn 180° and had to look up at who was behind him.....

 "Oh dear....."
