Zombie Slayers
The truck kept bouncing up and down the rocky road, knocking the passengers inside, except G.I.Robot, around. Flagg was keeping his footing best he can as he converses with his team.
"Alright, team, our mission are up in these mountains! A shrine or some sacrificial shit, they didn't give me all the details!" Bride rolled her eyes at that, of course they didn't, "Anyway, we got this warlock by the name Brother Night-"
"Brother Night!?" Bride yelled, shocking everyone, "You mean that limp-dick fucker is still alive?"
"Yeah.....cult leader in the 70's, dwelve in the dark arts til he was able to make a deal with demonic forces....." Flagg knew Bride was over 200 years old, bit he didn't think she might know some.....odd characters, "Bride, how do you know Brother Night.....buddy of yours?" He was going to ask ex-boyfriend, but he remembered Eric killed anyone who so much as interacted with her.
"Buddy!? Puh-lease, that fucker tried to use me as a way to get into the Underworld!" Nina stared at her girlfriend, wide-eyed in shock and worry, "I've wanted to shoot his dick off for decades!!"
"Sorry, Flagg, please continue." Nina said, going to calm things down before anything escalated.
"Thank you, Nina! For being the only one with fucking manners!" Flagg yelled.
"Hey, I was being polite by being quiet!" Phophserus yelled, a lie Flagg recognized.
"You're lying!" Flagg yelled.
"No I'm not!" Phosphorus stated in a jackass tone.
"We can all tell you're lying!" Bride added.
"Oh, yeah, and how can you tell, exactly?" Phophserus asked, leaning over with his hands clasps.
"You smile when you lie!" Bride states.
"How can you tell I'm smiling?" Phophserus asked, mockingly laughing at Bride.
"Phophserus, we're well aware of your tells if your smiling or not!" Flagg stated, which was fact that the team could now read Phophserus like an open book.
"Alright, alright, I actually wasn't listening at all." Phophserus confessed, "Honestly, these debriefing get sooooo boring."
"But it's important we don't go blindly.....in case Night has something none of us were prepared for." Nina stated.
"Exactly! So can I continue and everybody at least pretend to listen!?" Flagg yelled, not just cause of the loud noises the truck made as it went over rocks.....but because the Commandos once again got a rise out of him.
Everyone gave their agreements, except Weasel, never understood what he's thinking when he just stares into space.
"Thank you! Alright, so Brother Night found himself an old cave, one we learned was used for cult rituals that worshipped a dark god of the undead, or zombies, or whatever! The cave has canals filled with water, so Nina will do reconnaissance and report everything she sees. She'll go with G.I.Robot, where he'll provide cover for her when the two of them finish. Keep in constant radio contact just in case! Do not engage Brother Night without the full team! From reports, Night's not at Circe's level, but he's still dangerous."
"And I'm guessing he'll be more dangerous with an army of zombies!" Bride stated, knowing full well the capabilities of undead beings like her or......Eric.....
"Exactly why G.I. will be with Nina! If these zombies are like the ones in the movies, don't let them bite or stratch you! Luckily, G.I. doesn't have to worry about that!"
"It is an honor and privilege to protect friend Nina and kill the zombies that are similar to Nazi's!" G.I. stated.
......honestly seemed like a solid plan....but that didn't stop Bride from worrying about Nina if......he followed them. Bride couldn't bear to lose her again.
Bride was brought out of her dark thoughts when Nina took her hand and gently held them. Bride looked to Nina, who gave her a reassuring smile.
The truck finally stopped, Weasel being the first to jump out and thankfully, not run off. The others followed suit.
"Alright! The entrance to the canals should be north of here. Remember, observe and report, do not engage! Finish your mission and return to the rendezvous point!" Flagg announced as the rest of the soldiers poured out.
G.I. saluted before walking north, using his natural compass built inside his. Nina was about to follow when she felt a tug on her arm and turned to see Bride's worried face.
"Observe and report, then come back, alright?" Nina couldn't help but smile, Bride definitely cared for her safety.....it was endearing.
"Observe and report, then come back. Promise." Bride smiled, knowing full well Nina wasn't one to break promises, the patch-work woman couldn't help herself and kissed Nina.....on her helmet she still wore. Bride was honestly starting to hate that thing.
Nina smiled one more time before turning to catch up with their mechanical compatriot.......unknown to anyone that they were already being watched from afar.
"She's my bride....."
