Amidst the sarcasm, death jokes, and Se-Mi’s persistent disdain for everyone, Soo-Young suddenly dropped a heartfelt paragraph that silenced the group chat for a full 23 seconds—a new record.
Soo-Young (308):
“Okay real talk. I just wanna say thank you to Mi-Na, Jeon-Yeong, Yun-Hee, and Soo-Ha for being my team during the second game. I’ll never forget how we literally tied ourselves together and somehow didn’t kill each other. Y’all made me feel safe in the scariest place on Earth, and I love you all—even if I acted like I was ready to throw you off a cliff mid-pentathlon. Kisses.”
Jeon-Yeong (188): “Okay now I’m crying??”
Mi-Na (196): “I’m screenshotting this for your wedding toast.”
Soo-Ha (400): “This almost makes up for you elbowing me in the ribs during lap 4.”
Yun-Hee (031): “Shut up I’m not crying I just have survivor’s guilt in my eye.”
Then, as if the moment wasn’t already emotionally charged, Se-Mi struck with her usual sharp timing.
Se-Mi (380): “Yun-Hee babe, if I ask very nicely—aggressively, actually—can I add someone?”
Yun-Hee (031): “You can do anything you want if you say it like that.”
Yun-Hee added Min-Su (125)
Min-Su joined the chat with a profile picture of a frog holding an umbrella and the name: “…”
Min-Su (125): “Hi… I-I didn’t think anyone would actually want me here…”
Se-Mi (380): “Shut up before I get emotional, you’re literally my favorite introvert.”
Mi-Na (196): “Awwww shy boy enters the ring!”
Soo-Young (308): “This group is getting weirdly wholesome and I’m suspicious.”
Then Min-Su asked quietly:
Min-Su (125): “Um… can someone add Gyeong-Su? He’s my friend. He and I… kind of survived by staying quiet together.”
Soo-Ha (400) added Gyeong-Su (256)
Gyeong-Su appeared instantly, changing his name to: “Do-Yoon’s Man™”
Do-Yoon (197): “Finally. My emotional support boyfriend is here.”
Gyeong-Su (256): “Missed you, loser.”
Soo-Young (308): “Love that for you two. Not jealous. At all. Shut up.”
Gyeong-Su (256): “Wait… where are Thanos and Nam-Gyu?”
A collective pause. Then Jeon-Yeong, who had been sipping wine from a mug, sighed dramatically.
Jeon-Yeong (188) added Thanos (230) and Nam-Gyu (124)
The chaos arrived in seconds.
Thanos (230): “SENORITA MI-NAAAA~”
Nam-Gyu (124): “JEON-YEONG MY MENTAL ILLNESS QUEEN!!”
Mi-Na (196): “God help us.”
Jeon-Yeong (188): “Blocking is self-care.”
Thanos immediately sent a video of him shirtless doing salsa in his kitchen.
Nam-Gyu responded by changing his nickname to: “High on Life (& Maybe Something Else)”
Nam-Gyu (124): “Jeon-Yeong, let’s run away together and start a therapy cult.”
Thanos (230): “Mi-Na, I’d die for you. Again. But like sexier this time.”
Se-Mi (380): “I hate everyone here except maybe Min-Su.”
Min-Su (125): “…thank you?”
Do-Yoon (197): “This is now a circus. Where’s the popcorn.”
And just like that, the Squid Survivors group chat evolved from chaotic to outright unhinged. Mi-Na threw her phone onto the couch and cackled.
She was living for the drama.
