Regret
If you told James one year ago that today he would be sitting at his kitchen table drunk and drowning in regret, He would have laughed at you, but here he is. Drunk and drowning in regret.
Nobody could forgive him, and he knew that. James knew that Sirius was a forgiving guy, but he would never be able to forgive James for this...
James is just sitting, staring at an empty bottle holding his head in his hands, full of that regret and he hates it, he wanted to move on but its to late now.

Sirius was watching the news, as per usual, with a tired Remus laying over his chest. It wasn't long before Remus had fell asleep.
Sirius loved when they had moments like this. Cosy. But the mood was suddenly ruined by the breaking news of tonight.

After that Sirius wasn't paying any attention, he was shaking slightly. Tears formed in his eyes as he moved Remus carefully. Sirius begins walking to the bathroom but he can't, he falls to the floor breaking down, his sobs are so loud that they wake the peaceful Remus. Confused he looks to the TV and sees the news.
"Oh my....Sirius..." Remus is quiet, shocked as well.
"Reg...is missing?" Sirius is sad, heartbroken even.
But his mood quickly shifts "I bet it was Walburga, I bet it was her" he sounds... Frustrated...Maybe even angry? "In fact, I know it was her!"
"Sirius, let's not just assume it was her. That's quite an accusation eh?" Remus is trying to calm him down, but he's not wrong. That is a pretty extreme accusation
"Not extreme if I know I'm right" Sirius snaps back. "And I'm right"
How wrong he was.
"Sirius, just forget it for now?" Remus replies calmly
"How can I just forget that my brother is missing?!" Sirius raises his voice slightly as he speaks. He can't help it, he's mad.
Remus turns his head to the TV, "...And your mother apparently?" Remus is just confused now, totally confused.
"What?" Sirius is just as confused, and he looks at the TV too
*'Along with Regulus, his mother Walburga has been reported missing as well, we suspect they were taken together.*'
"Oh" Sirius has calmed down now. But not for long, his voice raises again, "Then who has my brother?!"
"Siri, they don't know yet, just go to bed and calm down?"

James sees the same thing on the news, another reminder that the love of his life is gone...and his shitty mum too.
"Why..." James speaks quietly to himself, "Why..."
