“How would you like a distraction Lily?” Marlene asked as she sat down on her bed.
“Depends, is it fun? Does it include the two of you?” Lily replied. It had been a month since she had moved to Grimmauld place and to be honest she was just beginning to feel the smallest bit of hope.
“Of course!” Dorcas replied. “We don’t want to push you but we just want you to enjoy your life too.” Dorcas sat down beside Lily.
“I would love to do something with you two. Is Mary going to be there?” Lily replied.
Dorcas and Marlene exchanged sad looks. Lily could feel their stares, “Guys? What happened to Mary?” Lily asked.
“I don’t think it’s really a good time.” Marlene said.
“What. Happened. To. Mary?” Lily groaned. “Why won’t anyone tell me anything? I’m not a child! What the fuck happened to Mary?!”
Dorcas sat Lily back down, “Lily, Mary- Well Mary. She-” Dorcas wiped a tear from her eye.
“Mary obliviated herself Lily. She did it the night James died, she thought you died too.” Marlene finished her girlfriend's sentence.
Lily sucked in a breath and wiped a tear from her eye. Just as she was about to say something Sirius burst into the room. “ ‘Sup ladies! Ready to get this party started!”
Remus quickly followed him, Harry in arm. He tugged on his sleeve. “I am so sorry. I tried to get him to stop.- Are you guys okay?”
Lily sighed, “Remus did you know?”
“Know what Lil?” Remus asked.
“About Mary.” Lily replied, her tone stoic despite everything she was feeling.
Remus nodded, “Yes, I wanted to tell you but you were so happy. I didn’t want to ruin that.”
“I lived with Mary for the best 7 years of my life. She is one of my closest friends. She was my first kiss. How could you not tell me?! I’ve already lost so much in this war, you might as well tell me that everyone I know and love is dead!” Lily screamed.
“On behalf of all of us, we’re sorry. We should have told you.” Remus apologised, truly sorry for his actions.
“Oh,” Lily started, feeling her anger deflate. “Thank you. Sorry I got mad.
“It’s okay.” Remus smiled, “I’ll get Sirius out of your way so you can get ready.”
“So, We still on?” Marlene asked.
“Yup!” Lily replied, “Just let me get ready.”
Lily twirled around, showing her outfit off to her friends.
“Hot.” Marlene replied, “ 1 word. Hot.”
Dorcas rolled her eyes, “Shall we?”
The three ladies arrived at a muggle bar. They got their drinks and it wasn’t long before ‘Marlene dance pants’ was awakened. “I’m going to watch her. Are you okay here?”
“Yeah, I’m cool here. You go.” Lily grabbed her glass and continued drinking. For a while she was sitting there basking in the emotion that wasn’t absolute agony. She was extremely startled by a light tap on the shoulder followed by, “Lily? Is that you?”
Lily whipped her head around to be greeted by the one and only Pandora Lovegood. “Pandora!” She squealed, hugging her old friend.
“How are you? How have you been? Well other than the, you know.” Pandora asked.
“Well, I’m not going to lie. It’s been really tough.” Lily began to explain her past few weeks. By the end of it, Pandora was in tears. “Oh my darling! Come here.” Again Pandora wrapped Lily in a hug. “Huh-did you always have this scar?”
“I have a scar?” Lily asked.
“Yeah, right up here on your forehead,” Pandora traced the scar with her finger. “And it goes all the way down to your face.” The pair locked eyes. Suddenly, Pandora moved her hand and pulled Lily’s face close to hers. Their lips came closer and closer until they met. Once their lips met Lily’s body relaxed. She hadn’t felt like this in what felt like years. When Lily finally decided that she was going to enjoy this Pandora pulled away, “You have a husband.”
“And so do you,” Lily pulled her close again.
“I got divorced.” Pandora admitted.
“And my husbands not here.” Lily pulled her into the kiss again. This time it reached the depth that Lily craved. Pandora had her hands in Lily's hair and Lily’s was tracing Pandora's curves. Pandora removed her hands from Lily’s hair and pulled a key out of her bag. “I’ve got a hotel room just down the street.”
Lily smiled, “Let me tell Dorcas and Marls.”
