Chapter 2
It was the summer of 1976, and the Marauders - James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew - were gathered in the Potter family's backyard, lounging in the sun and daydreaming about their future adventures. They had just finished their fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and were eager to make the most of their summer break.
As they talked, their conversation turned to romance and relationships. James was pining after Lily Evans, Sirius was nursing a broken heart after a recent breakup, and Peter was shyly admitting to his crush on a boy in Ravenclaw.
Remus, who had been quiet until now, spoke up. "You know, guys, I've been thinking a lot about my own feelings lately. And I think I might be gay."
The other Marauders looked at him in surprise, but then James grinned. "Well, Remus, you know what they say - the more, the merrier!"
Sirius laughed and clapped Remus on the back. "Welcome to the club, Moony. We'll make sure to find you a hot wizard to date."
Over the next few weeks, the Marauders continued their summer antics, but with a newfound sense of openness and inclusivity. They talked more about their romantic lives, sharing stories and giving advice. They also started to explore the wizarding world's underground LGBTQ+ scene, attending secret parties and dances and meeting other queer witches and wizards.
One night, as they lay on the grass watching the stars, Sirius reached over and took Remus's hand. "Hey, Moony, can I ask you something?"
"Sure," Remus said, squeezing his hand back.
"Would you maybe want to go on a date with me sometime?" Sirius asked, his heart pounding in his chest.
Remus smiled softly. "I'd love to, Sirius."
From that moment on, the Marauders became more than just friends and allies - they were also each other's support system and family. They continued to cause mischief and mayhem, but now with an added layer of love and affection. They were proud to be queer, and they knew that they were stronger and happier together than they could ever be alone.
