Chapter 3
Certainly! Here's a revised version with Marlene and Dorcas included:
It was the summer of 1976, and the Marauders - James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew - were gathered in the Potter family's backyard, lounging in the sun and daydreaming about their future adventures. They had just finished their fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and were eager to make the most of their summer break.
As they talked, their conversation turned to romance and relationships. James was pining after Lily Evans, Sirius was nursing a broken heart after a recent breakup, and Peter was shyly admitting to his crush on a boy in Ravenclaw.
Remus, who had been quiet until now, spoke up. "You know, guys, I've been thinking a lot about my own feelings lately. And I think I might be gay."
The other Marauders looked at him in surprise, but then James grinned. "Well, Remus, you know what they say - the more, the merrier!"
Sirius laughed and clapped Remus on the back. "Welcome to the club, Moony. We'll make sure to find you a hot wizard to date."
But before they could plan Remus's dating strategy, they heard a voice from behind them. "Hey, what about us?"
The Marauders turned to see two girls standing at the edge of the yard. One was Marlene McKinnon, a fiery Gryffindor with long red hair, and the other was Dorcas Meadowes, a witty and sharp-tongued Ravenclaw.
"Marlene, Dorcas, what are you doing here?" Sirius asked, surprised to see them.
"We heard you guys talking about romance," Marlene said with a grin. "And we figured we should get in on the action."
Dorcas rolled her eyes. "Don't mind her, she just wants to show off her new spell."
"What spell?" James asked, intrigued.
Marlene flicked her wand, and suddenly a shower of rainbow sparks burst from the tip. The Marauders oohed and aahed, impressed by the display.
"Very cool, Marlene," Remus said with a smile. "But what does that have to do with romance?"
Marlene shrugged. "It's a love spell, silly. It's supposed to attract anyone you're interested in."
The Marauders exchanged skeptical looks, but before they could protest, Dorcas spoke up. "Actually, I've heard about that spell before. And I might be interested in trying it out."
She looked at Remus with a teasing glint in her eye. "What do you say, Moony? Want to be my guinea pig?"
Remus blushed, but he couldn't help feeling flattered by the attention. "I don't know, Dorcas. I'm not sure if I'm ready to date yet."
Marlene nudged her friend. "Come on, Dorcas, let's not scare him off. We can all take it slow and see where things go."
With that, the group settled into an easy camaraderie, spending their summer days lounging in the sun, trying out new spells, and exploring the wizarding world's underground LGBTQ+ scene. As the weeks passed, they all grew closer and more comfortable with each other, sharing their hopes and fears and dreams for the future.
One night, as they sat around a campfire in the woods, Marlene leaned over to whisper in Dorcas's ear. "Hey, you know what would be really hot? If we kissed in front of everyone."
Dorcas raised an eyebrow. "Are you serious?"
