Chapter 1
Severus walked down the not so busy street he lived on. He was crying as he had a black eye his father left on him, just because he accidently hit a glass cup, shattering it.
He continued walking as he made it to the park, he whipped his tears away as he sat on a swing, slowly rocking back and forth. As he was in a daydream he heard someone sit on the swing beside him.
Severus looked at the boy confused as their had been five other swings to sit on that weren't beside him. The boy or girl had long black hair and was wearing a purple shirt with black skinny jeans and was wearing no shoes or socks.
Severus looked at the boy for a little longer and noticed some cuts along the boys arms.
He didn't wanna seem rude so he looked back at the ground as he continued swinging back and forth.
"Hello..."
Severus looked up in shock at the boy or girl 'hmm... must be a girl...' severus thought as he heard the person's voice. It was a high pitched voice but was also raspy.
"Hello..." Severus replied in a quiet voice.
The two kids sat in silence as they both rocked back and forth. The other person seemed to be taller than Severus as his feet touched the ground from the swing as Severus's feet couldn't.
"My name's Rusty..." The random kid said breaking the silence.
"isn't that a boy's name..?" Severus asked looking at the kid.
"yes..?" The boy, now known as 'Rusty' said looking up at Severus.
"aren't you a girl?"
Rusty looked at Severus with a blank face.
"isn't your voice to high pitched to be a boy's?" Rusty replied grinning.
Severus stared at him as tears started falling from his eyes.
Rusty stared at him as his eyes widened.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry!?" Rusty shouted out, hopping off the swing as he walked Infront of Severus, placing his hands onto his shoulders as he freaked out.
Rusty whipped Severus tears off his face as he kissed his forehead.
"I'm sorry, kid..."
"it's... okay..." Severus said softly as he whipped the rest of his tears away as he blushed from the kiss.
As Rusty held onto Severus shoulders he squeezed a tiny bit.
"you seem very boney..? Are you fed properly?" Rusty mumbled under his breath.
Severus looked up at him in surprise at the question before he started nodding his head fast.
"yes!" Severus blerted out fast as he continued nodding his head.
"jeez kid! calm down, it was only a question..."
He stopped nodding his head as he stared up at Rusty, blushing slightly.
"sorry..." Severus mumbled out softly.
"huh? why are you apologizing?" Rusty asked taking his hands off of Severus's shoulders.
Severus shrugged his shoulders as he missed the feeling of Rusty's hands on his shoulders.
Rusty smiled as he pulled Severus off of the swing.
"hm, you're very small..." Rusty blurted out as he was about 4 inches taller than Severus. "how old are you... and when's your birthday..?" He mumbled out staring down at Severus.
"January 9th? And I'm 11 years old..." Severus muttered out staring up at Rusty.
"I see, I was born April 17th! and I'm also 11 years old..." Rusty smiled as he talked "you seem very small for your age..." He finished off.
"I am almost pretty sure I've seen you at school... don't they make fun of you and call you a girl?" Rusty questioned out as he grabbed Severus's hand as he walked around the park.
Severus tensed up at what he had heard what Rusty said.
"y-yes..." Severus mumbled out.
"hm? I see... if anyone gives you trouble I'll beat their asses up!" Rusty shouted out as he held Severus's hand tighter.
Severus blushed "thanks... thanks Rusty..."
"no problem!"

Severus was running.
He was running as fast as his legs could before he felt himself get tackled onto some pebbles as he cried out in pain.
Four older boys were kicking his body all over. He was in pain as he cried. One of the boys kicked his face as he felt his nose start bleeding.
Severus was covered in blood and brusies and couldn't hear that well. He saw a person smash a rock into one of the older boys head as he punched, kicked and hit with rocks all over to the other three boys.
The boy walked over to Severus. Severus's vision was blurry before he passed out.
Severus woke up in a hollowed tree. He looked around and saw Rusty looking at him.
"you're awake!" Rusty shouted as he walked over to Severus pulling him into a hug.
"huh... what happened?" Severus mumbled as he hugged Rusty back.
"you were beat up by four older guys from our school..." Rusty said pausing before he continued "and by the time I had helped you, you had passed out..."
"oh..." Severus muttered as he pulled away from the hug, he looked down and saw his shirt was gone. The only thing he had on his too half was bandages covering his chest.
Severus freaked out as he looked around trying to find his shirt.
"hey... calm down... it's okay!" Rusty said calmly.
"calm down!? CALM DOWM!? I DON'T HAVE A SHIRT ON AND YOU... YOU! YOU DID THIS SO YOU COULD TAKE PICTURES AND SHOW EVERYONE I'M A FREAK AND THAT I WAS BORN A GIRL!" Severus shouted out as he pushed Rusty off of him.
Rusty sighed "I'll show you a secret if you calm down..? deal?"
Severus stared at Rusty as he was still mad before he calmed down a tiny bit "deal...".
Rusty smiled as he lifted up his shirt, showing off bandages on his chest "I was also born a girl..." he smiled softly looking at Severus.

Two weeks later

Severus was at Rusty's house as his father had came back drunk, Rusty was bandaging up his woulds.
"Rusty darling! come downstairs please!" Rusty's mom called out.
"coming mom!" Rusty shouted back as he looked down at Severus.
"be back soon!" he said as he waved at Severus, leaving him alone in his purple and black themed room.
After a couple minutes Rusty came back with two letters as he handed one to Severus.
"mom said these were for us..." Rusty mumbled as Severus looked at the envelope "Hogwarts..?"
"hm?" Rusty mumbled looking at Severus.
"it says Hogwarts..."
Rusty looked at the envelope confused.
"what the hell is Hogwarts?"
Severus shrugged his shoulders looking at Rusty confused.
Rusty looked back at Severus before opening the envelope.
"a list..?" Rusty mumbled confused showing Severus.
"huh? why would someone send us a list?" Severus mumbled before turning the page around.
Severus read the letter out loud as he looked up at Rusty.
"a... magical school?" Rusty said grabbing his letter back from Severus's hands "do they think I'm dumb!? do they think I'd fall for this!?" Rusty yelled out crumpling up the letter throwing it onto the floor.
