Guardians and Destroyers
Days prior to the destruction of Metropolis by the mind-controlled Colossal Titan, two Green Lanterns, Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner received a message in space sector far away from the Earth. They were fighting against Larfleeze’s orange constructs. They immediately ceased fighting and teleported away when they received it. It was from Hal Jordan and John Stewart, which said ‘Batman is killed’. Guy and Kyle could not believe this. They immediately retreated to Oa as they thought Larfleeze would crush them in their distraught state. When they finally found safety in Oa, Guy and Kyle began to talk about the message.
“Kyle... I cannot believe it... Is Batman really dead?!”, Guy said in panic, not believing the message at all.
“If it was from Hal, I might had thought it as some kind of twisted prank, but it’s also from John! John is not a kind of a person to lie to us!”, Kyle replied, devastated to accept the death of Batman was true. They decided to have a talk with the Guardians of the Universe about Batman’s death and that they needed to go back to Earth.
“Ganthet! Batman is killed! Please send us back to Earth! We are needed there!”, Kyle pleaded. Lots of Green Lanterns, who heard about Batman from Earth Lanterns like Hal and John could not believe the Earth hero was killed.
“Very well, you are now discharged of your mission. Go help Earth who had lost its hero!”, Ganthet said.
“We will come of you need any help”, Kilowag added as he looked at the Earth Lanterns.
“Thank you, Ganthet. You are the only nice and decent Guardian in here”, Guy said as he and Kyle flew away from Oa. They wanted to open a portal to Earth, but they were met with Larfleeze trapping a spaceship in his grip.
“The spaceship... is MINE!”, Larfleeze said as he grabbed the spaceship with Orange hand. It was the Benatar of Guardians of the Galaxy, who were in the grip of the Orange Lantern.
“This thing... is ridiculously powerful! It won’t let go of us!”, Star Lord yelled as he tried to make his spaceship move, which did not move at all.
“I can say its grip on us is worse than the one by the Nova Corps!”, Rocket declared anxiously.
“Even Thanos never mentioned us about such power, which means it could be even more powerful than him”, Gamora sighed in anguish. However, the despair did not last long, as Kyle summoned an Electric Chair constructs on Larfleeze, shocking the Orange Lantern. This made Larfleeze lose its grip on Benator, freeing the Guardians of the Galaxy. Quill looked at the Green Lanterns in delight, as they saved his team and spaceship.
“Thanks! Who are you?”, Star Lord asked the Green Lanterns.
“I’m Guy Gardner, member of the Green Lantern Corps”, Guy answered.
“I’m Kyle Rayner, also a member of the Green Lantern Corps”, Kyle added.
“Thanks for saving us! I’m Peter Quill, Star Lord, and we are the Guardians of the Galaxy!”, Star Lord declared as he introduced himself, while Kyle kept shocking Larfleeze. The others explained themselves and their abilities as well.
“Well that’s new, and you guys look more nicer than the Guardians of the Universe who are not nice people except Ganthet”, Guy replied.
“We need to know what that freak is. We got captured by it, and our weapons didn’t work at all”, Nebula asked neutrally.
“That thing is Larfleeze, an orange lantern. He is the most dangerous foe of the Green Lantern Corps. That thing feeds on Greed, and is powerful than both me and Kyle combined”, Guy replied. By the time, Larfleeze had managed to escape the electric chair by summoning monstrous creatures which were copies of its victims.
“So what do we do?”, Mantis asked in a fearful voice.
“We are fighting Larfleeze with these Green Lanterns”, Drax declared.
“Go kill an orange freak who can summon powerful object from nothing? If you want to kill yourself and us, do us all a favor Drax!”, Rocket pointed out.
“We are with Drax. The Green Lanterns do not succumb to fear”, Kyle declared.
“I am Groot”, the tree cheered.
“What does he mean? Is that the only thing he can say?”, Guy asked, confused.
“He says he is in favor of you and Kyle, Guy”, Rocket answered, as they took their fighting stance. The Guardians of the Galaxy put on their spacesuit, as Quill put his mask on. They joined Guy and Kyle outside their ship, ready to fight Larfleeze’s constructs.
“So what’s the plan?”, Rocket asked Guy when he shoot the orange monsters with his blaster, while Guy held Rocket in his arms as they dodged orange blasts coming at them.
“We put Larfreeze to sleep by Mantis’ empath powers. We just need a open spot!”, Guy replied as he smashed more orange monsters with hammer construct. Star Lord was blasted the orange monsters with his element gun as Groot covered Quill with branch shield and blasted more monsters with more guns in the branches, while roaring ‘I am Groot’. Groot also impaled the orange constructs with branch spears when he recharged his guns which ran out of bullets.
Gamora sliced the orange monsters with her godslayer sword, while Nebula smacked the ones which dared to approach Gamora from behind. Drax fought alongside Kyle and Mantis, smashing the monsters with headbutt, and slicing them with his knives. Kyle summoned a batmobile which hit the monstrosities, while Mantis used guns to blast them. From a distance, other Green Lanterns noticed the fight, and decided to aid the Guardians of the Galaxy. Kilowag, Arisia, and Soranik led the charge and began to fight the orange monsters. This opened a path to Larfleeze for Kyle and Mantis. Kyle summoned a Godzilla construct and blasted Larfleeze with its atomic breath, hurting Larfleeze. Kyle quickly moved behind Larfleeze who was still struggling against the green Godzilla and allowed Mantis to jump onto Larfleeze, who had put her hands on the sides of the orange lantern’s head.
“Now, sleep!”, Mantis said as she used her powers on Larfleeze, forcing the orange lantern into a coma. Kilowag, Arisia, and Soranik combined their blast to send Larfleeze away from everyone, taking the greed monster down.
“Kyle Reyner, Guy Gardner, thank you for helping us get out of this mess! You are now both the honorary members of Guardians of the Galaxy!”, Star Lord declared as he looked at Kyle, who brought Mantis back to the team. However, Kyle and Guy were not smiling, as the death of Batman had stung them painfully.
“I’m sorry, but we aren’t in the mood to cerebrate. We just received a message that our leader, Batman, is killed”, Kyle sighed.
“It’s okay. I too lost my dad when we fought my father who was evil. He gave me the only one flight suit to save me from the effect of space... I know how you both feel. It’s so painful”, Quill said in anguish.
“But that doesn’t mean we aren’t accepting this invitation, and I am too sorry for your losses. We need to get to Earth now. We are needed there”, Kyle replied. However, they were shocked as Gamora pointed at the Benator’s screen, with a shocked expression.
“How...”, Gamora uttered. The screen said ‘Yondu Udonta - Alive’. Everyone was shocked to see this, even Quill.
“Dad... he’s alive?! We had a funeral for him and now he comes back?!”, Quill said, not being able to handle the situation.
“Quill... Earth has a Lazaras Pits which can revive the dead... Reviving the dead is now possible... but someone might had brought your dad as an evil zombie”, Guy told Quill, who was now determined to get his dad back.
“It doesn’t matter he’s brought back as an evil zombie or not. I’m not losing my dad, ever again”, Quill declared, before adding. “Guardians! We are leaving! Destination, Earth!”. Guy and Kyle got into Benator. Soon the ship disappeared into a wormhole, leaving Kilowag and rest of the Green Lanterns.

At the present day in the Netherrealm, Galatea watched with delight as the Netherrealm’s invasion force began to cause destruction across the realms. This evil Kara had no love for this world at all, and she only cared about her revenge on her cousin.
“Are you happy to see the world your cousin had worked so hard to built turning into ashes?”, Quan Chi asked sarcastically, as he had already known the answer.
“Yes, I love seeing Kal suffer after everything he did to me. He deserves to suffer and die”, the evil Kara replied, not being able to hide her smirk as Metropolis was getting destroyed by Colossal Titan. However, Bi-Han still wondered why there was still no order to attack New York, the city which held the Avengers.
“Why not attack New York and kill the so-called Avengers?”, Noob Saibot asked in frustration.
“Not yet, Bi-Han. If we do, we will lose. The Avengers has Thor, son of Odin, and Hercules, son of Zeus. Odin and Zeus are the ones who defeated me eons ago. When they have no more heroes to rely on after we kill every other heroes, we will kill them all by using the dead heroes as revenants”, Shinnok answered.
“And I have a task for you, Kara. Retrieve your world’s Wonder Girl. Even though she had suffered as much as you did because of Superman and Wonder Woman, she still foolishly moved on and accepted their deception”, Quan Chi said.
“Cassie... how dare you betray us and join those deceivers again?”, the evil Kara growled angrily at her friend’s ‘betrayal’.
“Yes, she has betrayed you. You have to kill her and make her see the truth once more. This might be hard for you, do you understand?”, Quan Chi asked the former Supergirl who had turned into his minion.
“I will KILL Cassie for turning her back on me and our dead friends. She should had been helping us instead of standing in our way”, Galatea answered with determination, showing how far she had fallen, much to Quan Chi’s delight.
“Now go daughter. Bring us hope once more”, Quan Chi smirked as he ordered. Galatea nodded as she left the Netherrealm from Noob Saibot’s portal with him, to locate Wonder Girl and kill her. After Galatea had left, Quan Chi revealed another of his schemes.
“We need more mindless titans, master. Please let me go to pay more tribute”, revenant Marcel begged to his master.
“Yes, and we have the perfect target... the realm of Ryut, on the so called Paradis Island. We have more than one reason to attack this planet other than getting the Eldians to make them mindless titans for Lord Shinnok”, Quan Chi answered.
“What is it, sir?”, Marcel asked his master once again.
“It is to cause despair on the protector of the realm, the so-called Green Guardian. He has defeated the One Earth Regime all by himself, which is a formidable feat. He can give Kara what she wants and maybe release her from us. We cannot let that happen. He is now in Earthrealm leaving his own realm defenseless. When he returns, everything is to be destroyed by you. He won’t be able to fight us nor free Kara from us from the despair we will give him. Get as much Eldians as possible, so we will have more mindless titans”, Quan Chi ordered as he opened a portal.
“Yes, my master”, the revenant shifter smirked as he led his demonic army to Ryut, to cause destruction.

Lois Lane was still working at Daily Planet office when the disaster struck the city. Fortunately, she was with Clark in their office, and he managed to protect her from the rubbles of the office building. Clark managed to change into his Superman outfit during the explosion. When the dust settled, Clark wasted no time in removing the rubbles from his colleagues, only to see mindless titans walking toward them. Superman blasted the mindless creatures with heat vision. However, due to his total ignorance about their weakness, Superman was unable to kill the titans at all. The titans easily regenerated from Clark’s attack and began to eat the pedestrians.
“No!”, Superman screamed as he blasted the mindless titans, but he could not kill them at all. Soon the titans got back to eating more people in Metropolis, who fled from the Colossal Titan destroying the buildings which stood still after the explosion. Lois could only watch in terror as a titan came toward them with a smirk, attempting to eat her. Superman could not allow that from happening. Superman grabbed the titan and tossed it aside, after tearing it in half.
“Attention to all Justice Leaguers! Metropolis is destroyed, and there are monster giants which eats people! I need your help to find a way to neutralize them!”, Superman yelled in his comm link, not being able to hide his panicking state.
