The Ending

Tired. He’s so tired. He doesn't even have to ask Alana. She is almost asleep leaning on me.

Everyone is excited and happy the war is over. The Dark Lord is dead and the horcruxes destroyed.

He doesn't have the will to be happy about this. Alana is injured and grieving the ones we lost. She helped me kill a man. It has taken a bigger toll on her.

His twin, Alana, was always optimistic, hopeful, and a beautiful soul. It didn't matter how bad things were. When we were on the run the last year, when Sirius died, or the abuse we lived with at the Dursleys. Her light, her soul is damaged, all so we could be safe and live.

Even with the school in ruins, the infirmary and some other parts are in tacks. There are still things to take care of, the death eaters that weren't here, rebuilding the school, and going before the ministry. None of that matters at the moment, sleep all we need is sleep, even if there is no time for sleep.

Alana and Harry don't look 17. They were always small, and too skinny. Pale skin, his verdant green eyes, her crimson red, that at times look inhuman, and jet black hair, darker than any other shade.

“Harry, are you both ok? Do you want help?” Luna ran up, throwing her arms around them. Ron and Hermione are not far behind her. Luna is like a sister to them, she doesn’t set off the instincts that they both have.

“Can you help me with Alana?" The shock was enough to silent them. Never have they allowed anyone, other than Luna, to touch them willingly. Carefully as if they would break, Ron and Hermione, with Luna helped them to the infirmary.

“Ron, Hermione, I’ll sit with both of them. You two can go help the others and keep people away. I’ll get them food in about an hour too.”

“They don’t seem happy with you Luna. I don’t like it here. I want to go somewhere peaceful and quiet.” Harry knows that everything so far has been a lie, when it comes to them. Luna, and Alana are the only two he can trust.

“Don’t worry about me, Harry. You need to sleep. If you two wake up, things will be better. Just make sure to stay true to yourselves.”

Harry just looks at her. She always knows certain things, things that at times, seem impossible.

Alana is sleeping, peaceful even, as he lies down the world goes dark. As if death finally caught up with them.

Darkness. She can't see anything, all there is, is darkness. It's as if she is floating in nothing. The pull to sleep is strong. The pull to give up. Then she remembers Harry.

"Harry… Harry, where are you?"

She looks around, then the feeling of falling. She fell in a substance thicker than water. Black as night, with the smell of ink.

As she treads in the pool, scenes start to play. She can't make out the faces of the people or hear they're names.

The room is large with green and red decors. Lager chairs and sofa by the fireplace. Two cribs side by side. Stuff animals, and babe toys. In the center of the room, sitting on a rug, was a man and two babies.

"#%÷$, I believe they are supposed to be sleeping by now."

The man in the center of the room looks to the door. Standing there was another man leaning against the door, by how he spoke, she could hear the love in his voice.

"/%$&, they are just so adorable. I don't want to leave, I just want to make them smile and laugh." He laughed, and held out his arms to the other. "Come here, sit with us. I'm sure the children want their daddy."

The man at the door straightens as he laughs. He walks to the man with the children, places a kiss on his cheek.

"Let's put them to bed. They need sleep and we have some things to do today."

The man picks up one of the children and the man on the floor stands with the other. They place a kiss on each of the children and put them down.

The scene slowly fades.

"Why… Why am I seeing this? Where am I? Where is Harry?"

Alana screams out. It was of a real family. Why? Why is she seeing this, it was something she didn't have, other than Harry.

Be true to yourself. What do you wish for? What do you long for?

A voice spoke, she looked around but nothing was there. She looks back the way she first was facing. A new scene starts to play.

The man from the doorway in the last scene was here again. This time though, he was in armor, with a sword in hand, and on a battlefield.

"/%$&, Why are you doing this? They're not here, we looked everywhere. We told you everything we knew."

The person speaking was on the ground before the man. His sword was raised," I don't believe you.", that was all he said as he brought down his blade.

The scream that left his throat filled with anguish and rage.

The scene fades. She can't stop the tears falling down her face. The scream, a scream that echoes in her soul.

"Why, what happened to cause this? Why is he in so much pain?"

What do you wish for? What is it that you long for?

"/%$&, You have traveled the world looking. It's time to grieve."

A woman tall in appearance, long flowing hair with a crown on her head. Walking close, she places her hand on his shoulder. They stand in a room with two cribs, but no children and no other man.

"I can still find them. I won't give up. They have to be somewhere."

The tears fall as he stares at the empty cribs. He places a hand on each crib as he falls to his knees. He keeps repeating the same thing, over one over again.

The pain she feels as the scene fades. She holds a hand to her chest. The tears fall as she breaks apart.

What is it that you long for?

"Home… I want to go home. I want to heal. I want to go ho..mm..e."

She screams the answer, not knowing who she is talking to. The pool starts to shift. The ink swirls and turns, just like the raging sea. Alana looks round, then she is pulled under. Everything goes dark once again.
