Long Time Coming
Dogday watched on, uncaring for the commotion around him, only focused on the helicopter which is growing smaller and smaller. He stands up and walks to the wreckage of Catnap's car, scrounging around until he finds a pair of binoculars.
"Dogday, what are you doing?" A multitude of voices ask out, but Dogday pays them no mind as he jumps on top of the wrecked vehicle and looks through the binoculars. He sees the helicopter land on the tallest building that can be seen from anywhere in the vicinity of Technofur City. Sawyer Industries. The biggest, brightest, and tallest building of the entire city. The sun lowers behind Dogday, turning everything as far as he could see to have an orange hue. He can see that the helicopter goes and lands on the helipad on the top of the building. Dogday turns around to see the Smiling Critters and Poppy, along with Doey and Lost Haven.
"Alright, if we're gonna take down Chief Proto, then it's gotta have to be done now. He deliberately attacked at this moment just for Catnap, and now he's gonna be in the Sawyer Industries building. An opportunity like this probably won't come again, so who's gonna go on this operation?" Dogday yells out to the massive audience in front of him, in return, everyone raised their arms out and cheered in favor.

Catnap slowly wakes up to see himself in a purely white room, a table and an empty chair sits across from him, and behind that is a single door and a large viewing window. Catnap tries to stand up but he can't move a muscle. Looking down, he sees his arms and legs bolted down to a wheelchair that he's sitting on, but he can't feel a thing below his neck. Catnap starts to panic, trying his best to try and get out but nothing moves, even his tail is flopped down on the floor, unfeeling. Just then, the door handle jiggles a bit as Chief Proto enters the room with Dr. Sawyer behind him.
"You're finally awake, Lieutenant. Oh wait, I fired you, Moonlight." Chief Proto said as he sits down while Dr. Sawyer sets down a screen in front of Catnap. Dr. Sawyer then starts to play a video from it.
"This is a complete timeline on your clone, which Dr. Sawyer told me you have a psychic connection towards, which just makes things far easier, actually." Chief Proto says as Catnap watches the video. Catnap saw the entire process on the creation of his clone, which is already a morbid thing to watch, considering the Dr. Sawyer in the video goes into too much detail on what was the process for creating the specific parts, along with the fact that Catnap could be controlled by a remote that could even remotely communicate to Catnap like telekinesis. And even the fact that the transfer of memories and even personality will be incredibly easy because of the psychic connection that Catnap somehow had. But the one thing that was the most horrific and morbid to Catnap was one "special feature" that Chief Proto specifically asked for. A functional womb. Despite still having a penis, just flipping a switch on the remote would switch Catnap to a "mating mode." He then looked towards Simon who was the second in command, but he walked off elsewhere. Needing an ally, he decided to follow the dragon to where he was going, eventually he took out his phone and leaned against the hallway.
"He's in here, currently getting tortured by the chief." He said into the phone. Poe couldn't hear what the person on the otherside of the phone was saying, but he assumed that it was one of the revolutionary groups.
"Alright, I'll get you clearance with the elevator, then I'll get out of dodge." Simon said before hanging up. He took a deep breath before he turned to look towards Poe, who was surprised that Simon knew he was here the whole time.
"You're loyal to Catnap, right?" Simon said as he walked towards him. Poe nodded as he thought to himself for a bit.
"I see. You saw what the hell was happening back there, and the truce that Poppy and Doey made. This place is gonna get lit up to high heaven. So it would be in your best interest to get out of here." Simon said as he walked to the elevator.
"Wait! I wanna help Catnap!" Poe said, making Simon stop and turn around. He looked at Poe with a slight smirk.
"And what the hell can you do to help him?" He asked in a slightly mocking tone, raising one eyebrow.
"I can distract the chief and the brigade for long enough until help arrives." Poe said which seemed to surprise Simon.
"Looks like we both got death wishes, then. I have one for money and you have one for loyalty." Simon said as he laughed and walked towards the elevator while showing a thumbs up to Poe behind him. If there's one thing that Poe wanted to do back when he was just a tookie in the force, it's that he'll never what to let Catnap down again, he was the reason that Catnap had gotten almost killed in that drug den. That case was originally supposed to be for the both of them, but he called in sick. If he was there, maybe Catnap wouldn't be in this situation. He walks back towards where Catnap was and sees Catnap about to be wheeled out on the wheel chair to god knows where. He blocks the hallway where they're supposed to go as he puts his hand on the grip of his gun. Catnap watched with hope in his eyes as the brigade and Chief Proto also had their hands on their weapons. While they were having their stand off, Dr. Sawyer quickly goes to hide in another room, somehow getting inside the same room where Allister was asleep in.
"Chief, with all due respect, but I don't think that we should be doing this to the former lieutenant." Poe said as he tightened his grip and stared down the chief. Chief Proto snarled a bit as his grip on the wheelchair grew stronger. Poe's leg muscles flexed and trembled as his adrenaline rose.
"Get out of the way, Officer Allen. This doesn't concern you." Chief Proto said in a calm and authoritative voice. Poe quickly drew his gun and aimed it right at Chief Proto. Chief Proto took a deep breath as he let go of the wheelchair and shoved Catnap into another room before drawing his own gun and firing at Poe. Poe quickly dodged away and shot towards the group as he retreated behind a corner. The entire brigade was now against him, but he knew that Catnap made him his partner for a reason, it's because he's better than all of them combined. Poe ran across the hallway towards the other cotner as he shot at multiple people, barely getting grazed by gunfire. Just then, the elevator dinged and the doors opened to reveal Dogday, the Smiling Critters, Poppy and Doey, as they all quickly dispatched the rest of the Nightmare Critters and restrained Allister and Dr. Sawyer.
"Where's Catnap and Chief Proto?!" Dogday shouted at the two who said that Chief Proto retreated to a elsewhere while Catnap was shoved into another room by him. Quickly, Dogday looked around and found Catnap in a plain white room. Catnap looked up and tears welled in his eyes as he grew a big smile.
"Dogday!" He shouted out as Dogday ran towards him and hugged him.
"What happened to you? Are you hurt?" Dogday said as he grabbed Catnap's hand which felt oddly cold.
"I don't know, I think I got paralyzed." Catnap said as Dogdays' stomach sank. No, there's no way that Catnap couldn't move again, there had to be a way.
"Wait here." Dogday said before quickly running off to get Dr. Sawyer. He built Catnap's body, he should be able to help him move again. He went back to the room where Dr. Sawyer and Allister was and quickly pointed his guns at the doctor.
"Catnap's paralyzed, why?!" He shouted out. By now, Dogday was panting heavily from all of the running around that he did, bit he paid it no mind because Catnap might not ever walk again.
"Well, we temporarily shut down Catnap's nervous system from his neck down, so that he wouldn't resist while-" "Get to the fucking point! Can you help him or not!?" Dogday interrupted the human from finishing his sentence as he just nodded. Dogday then stood him up and dragged him towards Catnap who had a weary look on the doctor.
"He said he can make you move again, if he does something that feels wrong I'll shoot him, okay?" He said to Catnap while slightly crouching down, which Catnap slowly nodded. Dogday then gestured to Catnap for Dr. Sawyer to start working on Catnap as their combined forces started to clear the entire building as they searched for Chief Proto and other personnel in the building while only the Smiling Critters stuck around, because Poppy and Doey were going around with their men. After a little bit of work on Catnap's neck, Dr. Sawyer finished and Catnap was able to move perfectly again.
"Thank you. Bubba, stay with him. Catnap, do you wanna stay here or help us with Chief Proto?" Dogday said which Catnap immediately nodded yes.
"If I may add." Dr. Sawyer said with one finger up.
"Chief Proto has two safe rooms in my building, one's up at the top floor and one's at the seventh basement level. If he's hiding, then he's at either of the two locations." Dr. Sawyer said. The group then relayed this information to Poppy and Doey.
"Dogday, we're already going up towards the top floor, we don't know if we have any other units in the area so you and your group should go down to the basement level." Poppy said through the radio. They then decided that they should split up through the basement floors since Chief Proto could be escaping now. Bobby and Hoppy on floors one and two, Picky and Crafty on floors three and four, Bubba and Kickin will stay with Allister and Doctor Sawyer, Poe will go to floors five and six, and Dogday and Catnap will go down to the seventh basement floor to see if Chief Proto is in the safe room. Everyone then went to the elevator as Bubba and Kickin stayed behind. Slowly, the group got smaller and smaller as pairs left the elevator to their specific floors, before Poe could step off to his floor, Catnap stops Poe.
"Poe, I just want to say. Thank you, you really helped out then." Catnap said to Poe. Poe was glad, he felt like his past wrongdoings were now absolved as he went off of the elevator and started to walk around floor five. It was now Dogday and Catnap left in the elevator.
"Dogday, I'm not sure if I'm gonna get out of this, I just want you to know. I love you, and if tou were in danger, I would give my life for you." Catnap said before he went to kiss Dogday which he accepted, but Dogday wasn't having that curtain speech.
"We will make it through this, Catnap." Dogday said to assure Catnap.
"You definitely will if I am here, but if I don't leave this building with you, ask Dr. Sawyer. He owes me a get out of jail free card." He said right as the elevator doors opened and they are faced with a long hallway and a large vault door. The two slowly walked up to the vault door as the door also slowly opened.
"Go ahead and face me, get all of your reinforcements ready. I'll be waiting." The P.A system turned on with a loud high pitched noise, and then Chief Proto's voice rang out of the speaker systems. Dogday tried to use his radio but he was too far underground to get to anyone except for the other Smiling Critters.
"Anyone who can hear me, make your way down to the seventh basement floor, Chief Proto is here." Dogday yelled into his radio as other voices affirmed Dogday. Catnap and Dogday then quickly ran towards the door as Chief Proto walked out. The two then stopped and started to fire at Chief Proto. He seemed to be moving at superhuman speeds because he was dodging every single bullet. He first went up to Catnap who disarmed him and uppercutted him, punching him so hard that he hit the high ceiling. Dogday then shot a few more times as he run out of bullets, where he was quickly shoved into the wall as he fell down uselessly to the floor. Dogday struggled to get up as Chief Proto walked up to Catnap and grabbed him by the neck, pinning him to the wall.
"This could've been so easy for you, Catnap. You could've just let me be your master. But that's just not in your nature is it?" Chief Proto said as he readied his one free hand, it's long metal fingers looked like a large spear as it penetrated Catnap in the chest.
"Noooo!!!!" Dogday yelled out as Catnap struggled to even make noises except for gargling sounds as blood started to make it's way up to Catnap's throat. Chief Proto then pulled out his hand, and in it is Catnap's heart, still beating and still fleshy, as Chief Proto crushed it in his hand and tossed Catnap to the side.
"Catnap!! Nooo!! Arrgggh! You son of a bitch!!!" Dogday shouted at Chief Proto as he ran towards him. Catnap felt his consciousness slowly slipping away as he put a hand up to the hole where his heart would be. His head started to droop until all he saw was darkness again....

Catnap was in the void again, but this time he didn't feel like anything. He tried to focus on figuring out his surroundings before something came into view. It was the vat, and it was empty. Catnap ran towards the vat like his life depended on it. When he reaches it, he saw that there was an opening in the vat and he stepped inside. A tube and some kind of electrode hat came down from the ceiling of the vat. He took the tube and shoved it way down his throat, it didn't hurt so he thought it would be fine. And then Catnap put the electrode hat on his head. Once he did that, the vat closed with the opening being replaced by glass that came from the floor, and the vat slowly filled up with water as Catnap started to float in the cloudy water which smelled like some kind of saline. Catnap slowly drifted to sleep as he heard muffled voices that were outside of the vat.
