Marius looks at the sleeping child in front of him in thought, worry, and horror, for his mind is still reeling about what he had learned about young Harriet during the entire night, or to be more precise: about what she had endured-

and could have almost turned into because of it ,  as he had read from the results of her health, before she had been healed from it all, of course…

She could have turned into an Obscurial because of the abuse and neglect she had endured.

Those muggles did that, and had almost destroyed her completely, she could have-

His own blood , but furthermore: she was an innocent child. She was, and still is a child, even if she had not been treated as one so far…

Now Marius did not have a great childhood himself mind you, especially after it had been known that he was a squib- and had been consequently kicked out of the house, to fend for himself as his dear late father had ordered of him, for no Black would bring such shame in their line , and be that weak and useless , or whatever it was his dear old father had said.

He had ended up on the streets at age eleven, with only a single pouch of galleons, which his mother had hurriedly given to him with most of her own jewelry, as a last showing of a mother’s love he supposes, which had surprised him entirely then , seeing as his mother had been his father’s shadow for all of the years he had been raised by her, existing more as a ghost than a mother, or well, what he had heard  of what a mother entailed, for he had been mostly raised by the house elves.

As most of the pureblood children had been raised for centuries.

He had never known that his mother had loved him…

And that had been the first and last of it. For the only time had seen her last, had been at her funeral, where he had been reunited with his beloved family, and he had met his nephew then, Sirius…

But well besides that , Marius had been treated far better than Harriet…It was a wonder she still was as positive as she was! The innocence in her eyes especially, had not been sniffed out because of it all…

But she should not have lived like this, children , magical or not, should be cherished!

If he had found her sooner, if he had been there for his own nephew, if he had known-

He had been pronounced dead for all of these years, he had even fooled his own family to believe it , which had been quite hard mind you, but it had worked out in the end…

He had thought it to be the best course of action then, because he had thought that he would protect Sirius most especially in this way, but now

Now he is regretting it very much so, especially with what had become of his House...his family.

He needs to-

He could think about all of the what-ifs, but the fact of the matter is- is that there was no changing the past, only the present and future. And Marius promised himself from then on, that he would, and that he would make them all pay for what they did to his family, to Harriet, to Sirius, and everyone else that did not deserve this…and the one who stands in front of his mind as the true perpetrator of it all, the one playing with the strings:  is one Albus Dumbledore , for who else could have gone away with it all?

The bastard would wish he had never been born when he would be through with the fool, magic or no magic, a Black always has their way in the end, but now , his focus was entirely on the sleeping child in front of him, the youngest member of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, and his poor nephew , who was rotting away in Azkaban for a crime, Marius was most certain of

He did not commit.

Sirius wouldnever!

Because the boy he had known, the boy who had told him everything in his letters and most especially embraced James Potter as a brother, a bond so strong that there was no way to break it, for it had been fated so- that boy would have never betrayed him and his family!

Never.

He would get him out of there, Marius promises.

Even if it is the last thing he will ever do, he will do it.

“Thank you for lending me your home to rest in for the day, my friend.” He then heard Godric’s soft voice behind him say, which brought him back to the present from where he stood at the door of the room, a room Marius had already put together from the moment he had moved in the townhouse,  left for- for what? Certainly not any of his family members, seeing as he was supposed to be dead, and certaintly not any friends or such, for he kept to himself, well besides Godric, but Godric was a different matter altogether, for he has made a place for his friend here already, for if the moment arises.

But the fact of the matter is- is that he had fully furbished a  room for someone to stay in, without the thought why that he would need to,  but now, he thinks, now he does.

It is for her.

It would be the only explanation.

It was fated .

It had been so long ago since he had been in a house with one of his blood, his family . And this poor child, this special and sweet girl - he would give her everything, everything her heart wishes, for she deserved no less. He would care for her as his own, the way he had wanted to care for his nephews…Sirius and Regulus, poor little Regulus , who was pronounced to be missing as he had later come to learn, little Regulus who never came home.

Little Regulus who must be dead, even if Marius wishes it to not be so, but he feels it to be true, that and he had not found any trace of his youngest anywhere…

He did not have much love for Walburga, but he- he felt hurt for her

What did she feel when she learned of one of her sons death’s and the other’s incarceration, before she had eventually joined her Lord husband in death.

Or well hell. He really shouldn’t speak ill of the death, but it was the truth, that she was a horrible person, and mother most of all… But then again, he was no saint either, no Black ever was. Not truly…

He only hopes the Black madness won’t spread in her fully as much as it has spread into many of them.

Finally looking back, he sees that Godric has now joined him in watching over their charge, his expression was blank as always, but Marius was fairly good in reading people, of any sort, for their eyes spoke enough. And Godric had a myriad of emotions spiraling behind those ancient grey eyes of his.

The ancient vampire next to him cared for the child in front of them, there was no fooling anyone of that fact.

Not that he wasn’t the only one, for Harriet had that gift, once you met her, there simply was no way of leaving her, for she encased them all into her being.

He for one, knew how strongly the child felt about his old friend, and a part of him is certain  that she won’t let him go  so easily, not with the way she had stuck to him like glue for the entire time Marius had known the dear child.

And he was certain that Godric, with all of his duties across the pond, would most definitely try to leave for it, for duty stood above all for his friend, and he stood corrected when Godric spoke afterwards.

“I cannot stay,” Godric then let out after a while, almost as though he was forced to say it, his gaze still on the sleeping child.

“I see. But she needs you , Godric, are you certain you cannot at least stay for some days, I am sure your nest won’t turn into chaos if you only stay for a few days, especially with your  senior underling in charge while you are gone, Isabel was her name, was it not? “ He then said to the vampire, even though he knew that the ancient being would still stand on his decision, for duty was everything to him.

“I cannot, my duties -” Godric then tried to argue, which made Marius use quite a dirty move then, all for the sleeping girl in front of the both of them, all for her happiness.

He would do it a thousand times, if it meant that she would be happy, even if he made his friend angry with him.

“Is she not your duty as well? For it was no mere chance that brought the two of you together, my friend.” Marius then said in a knowing way, which made the vampire then turn his gaze to him.

“You think this is Fate’s doing?” Godric then softly murmured in question, even though his eyes did not look surprised in the slightest, as though he hadalready known, and had accepted it as a fact.

“Well I am not the only one, am I? Why else have you stopped by to help the child then?” He then asked the vampire, but Godric did not answer him, for his gaze then once more turned to Harriet’s sleeping figure.

Harriet was dreaming, she was certain of it, because why else would she be seeing this- this strange dream.

For she did not understand it all, neither had she had dreams such as this one, for-

For the only dreams she would get would be nightmares, but now she wasn’t certain if they were that to begin with, after what she had come to learn…

She dreamt of her parents’ death, and that thing, the monster.

Lord Voldemort.

The strange snake-like man with the red eyes…

He had killed her parents, and was going to kill her as well, she knew, for the green light felt of … death , if she had to describe it.

Each and every night, she would be haunted by flashes of her mother’s screams, him , and the light.

And now, now she was seeing something else, something she did not understand…for the place she found herself in was not one she recognised.

She was where nature was, for there was not as much green in her neighbourhood as it was here. That and the flowers , they were all around her!

She felt the fresh air and the sun hitting her in her face then, which made her close her eyes for a moment before opening them again, but she then frowned, for she then found herself somewhere else.

There were people around her in old clothes, or well tunics? They looked old, for she had never seen anyone else wear those around her, only in the pictures she found in the history books, or videos she saw.

They looked like Celtic people…

The people around her looked very tall (but then again everyone would look tall compared to her), and muscled!

They were walking towards something, but she couldn’t see, seeing as she was in the middle of the crowd.

She heard the rippling of some currant of sort, a river.

She heard the people speak in a rather beautiful, but unknown language to her ears. She stood transfixed by it, and then she saw him.

Godric.

He seemed much younger there, for his eyes were less troubled as the ones she had come to know and care for very deeply. And his hair…His hair was much longer now, it reached his shoulders for one.

Her friend looked more like his physical age then, for he looked nerveous but also steadfast for something, and looking behind him, she saw older men with rather large and white beards, hold a pot with some type of colour dye in it, and a very sharp tool of some sort.

They were making him kneel in front of the flowing river then, and the crowd then held their breaths at the sight then, of Godric getting-

Tattoos! She thought breathlessly, and also in awe, for they looked cool!

All the while they tattooed him, the older people would keep saying something, which she, again, did not understand.

But by the looks of it all, it seemed to be a ceremony of some kind.

Four tattoos in total, each as fascinating as the other. The first had been placed on his left bicep, they looked like waves. The second had then been done on his other then, it looked like a band of some kind, with again- Celtic lettering.

And then one of the old men made him pull his head back to tattoo somehing that looked like a necklace around his neck, which she had only glimpsed of before, but had not fully seen it…It looked painful to her, but it did not seem to bother Godric in the slightest, but then again, Godric was simple awesome, so of course he would!

And the last- the last was tattooed on his back, a very large tattoo of some animal of some kind…It looked beautiful…

It made her want some of her own tattoos in the future, when she would be older.

She would definitely ask Godric to come along with her then, she decided. Especially because he was her best friend, and she wanted to do everything with him, she wanted him to always be in her life…

She then watched in wonder as how the rest of the people then surrounded him in cheers after it all, and pulled him to somewhere, and the scene then changed into the people all around her joining in festivities, everyone was drinking and dancing around a big fire in the center.

And she saw Godric then, he was sitting on a tree trunk in front of the fire, and he was looking at all the other joyful people with a happy smile, something Harriet had never seen him wear before…for his smiles weren’t as large as they were now.

He looks free of any burden here, he looked beautiful (which she had thought from the first time she had met him, but now, he looked beautiful even more so!), she then decided in awe and here she felt her cheeks then heat at the sight of him, before she then shook her head.

Harriet felt saddened for some reason then, especially because she was certain that something must have happened for him to be the way he was now, especially because he turned into a vampire for one…

Which would of course change someone, for they lived forever. Which is a very long time…

And the scene then suddenly changed!

And with absolute horror, she then watched as the once peaceful community was then destroyed in front of her eyes, so much fire and ruin

She watched as romans, for they must be them, especially by the armor and helmuts they were wearing , slaughtered all of the people around, not even the women and children were spared, and here she had to close her eyes in horror at the way they hurt the women especially.

The screams… she doesn’t think she’ll ever forget those…

Opening her eyes, after the screams had stopped she then watched with wide eyes as the scene once more changed, there were rows and rows of chackled people…and one of them was Godric-

Here she then put a hand to her face in sadness, especially at the way he looked.

The long hair from before was shorn of his head for one, and he had so many bruises and cuts on him, his eyes especially-

They looked heartbreaking.

Harriet then ran after him, to - hold his hand at least!

But she then watched as her hand seemed to go through his, and neither could he see her, or anyone for that matter, even after she shouted for him to look at her.

He would not, he did not see her…

The scene then changed into Godric being brought before a cruel looking rich man, who was looking at him, as though he wasn’t a fellow human, but an object to be looked at…

The man then cruelly smiled at Godric’s kneeled form after he threw a bag filled with coin towards the one who held Godric in chains, he was being treated like an animal, even worse than an animal!

But before Harriet could see more, it all then turned dark and she woke up with a shout.

Godric!” She shouted in fear, when she she pushed herself from the strange bed she was laying in, in the even more strange looking room she found herself in. She then hurriedly got out of the bed, and ran for the door then, to look for him.

Godric

But the door was then opened, and she saw a Marius looking at her in alarm and worry then, which made her breathe in relief then.

“Harriet? What is wrong? I heard you shouting, dear, are you alright? Would you like a glass of water?” Marius then hurriedly asked, all the while he then softly put his hands on her shaking shoulders, which she only now realises.

That she was shaking in fright.

She then simply nodded to the older man, and tried to calm herself, but she couldn’t not until she saw Godric.

“Godric?” She then asked in worry, which made the older man then smile at her in understanding.

“He has not left you, if that is what you are wondering, my dear child. He is resting now, it’s day after all. And quite early might I say,” Marius then gently said with a smile to here, which then made her feel guilty, for waking him.

She then opened her mouth to apologize, but before she could Marius then shook his head at her.

“Now, none of that, love. No need to apologize, it is a new environment for you afterall, it is only normal. But I do hope you will come to see this place as your home later on, now do drink some water, your mouth must be parched by now, right?” He once more gently said, even though he did not see her freeze at what he said.

Home.

But she simply grasped the offered glass of water then, and drank it after one last glance at Marius- uncle Marius ’ soft and gentle gaze.

No one ever looked at her like that before, not until she had met Godric, and now uncle Marius, who was her family…

She would never be accustomed to it, but she hopes that she will in time, for she really liked him.

And he liked her as well, it seemed; which made her more at ease around him, and also feel-

Well she did not really know what it was she was feeling, but it felt good?

After she drank the water, uncle Marius then guided her to a dining table, making her then sit at it, which she looked at in curiosity and hesitate before, for she never sat at the table before, well at the the Dursleys that is.

But they weren’t her family anymore, nor where they ever her family apparently…It still confused her, especially after what the goblin, Fanghorn had told her to do- to look at the paper of her family tree once more when she would have the time. He seemed to know of something, which confused her, but she let it be.

“Sit here while I get us some breakfast, that alright with you, love?” Uncle Marius’ voice then called, which made Harriet then hurriedly turn her gaze at his expectant one, which she then hesitantly nodded at, which he then softly smiled at in answer before he turned to leave towards the adjoining room next to the living, which was the Kitchen she deduced.

She was never offered food before, not like this, well before meeting Godric that is…

She then stopped at that, Godric.

She hopes he’s alright… There was still a part of her that stood on edge, and that it wouldn’t be gone until she saw him with her own eyes.

She hopes he’s alright.

She then felt and saw something being set before her then, and with with wide eyes it was a plate filled with pancakes! That and lots of fruit and honey.

Was it all for her?

She then turned her gaze to uncle Marius then, who seemed to know what she was thinking then, his gaze had turned saddened by what he saw, before he then turned to smile at her.

“Eat up now, the plate’s for you after all” He simply said, after he then put a towel and a fork and knife beside the plate.

“Would you like some tea, or hot chocolate?” He then asked with a grin, which Harriet then begrudgingly returned, hopeful.

“Can I have some hot chocolate, please?” She then said, which uncle Marius then chuckled at.

“Well of course you can, love! Just say what you want from now on, alright? You will never be punished in these walls, especially not with me, nor will anyone else ever again. You are home, Harriet. Now eat, I’ll get you your hot chocolate in the meantime.” He then said with a wink, which made Harriet feel suddenly warm because of it, and she had to hold in a cry at that then, she nodded then, before she turned to look at her plate and then at him.

“Where is your plate? Will you not eat with me?” She then curiously asked, which he then smiled at, his eyes crinkled then.

“Now don’t you worry about me, love! I will be eating with you as well of course, but thank you for your concern, I appreciate it.” He then said, before he softly patted her hair then in fondness, with made her freeze at the feel of it, before she turned into it, at his touch . Which he continued on with for a bit, until he then nodded to her with a smile and turned back to the kitchen then, coming with steamed cups and a plate of his own a moment after, and they then ate with one another, for Harriet did not start until she saw him eat as well, which Marius softly chuckled at.

He then told her a bit more of her family, their family, and Harriet was completely taken by it all.

“Uncle Marius?” She then asked, after they found themselves sitting on the large sofa in the living room.

“Yes, love?” He then curiously answered, while he turned  to gaze at the younger girl, who was sitting beside him, they were watching the telly.

“Can you tell me a bit about Godric?” She then after a moment of contemplating, asked him. Which did not surprise him in the slightest, especially with the way she had woken up, shouting for him.

They truly did form a bond with one another, he had then realised.

And so he did explain, starting from what he had already known of vampires during his youth, to then meeting the vampire himself, which the child listened to in full enrapture.

And after a while, she had then absorbed the information he had shared with her, before she once more turned to him in concern.

“Is it normal how Godric looks? Well, what I mean is-” She then tried to elaborate, which made Marius immediately understand where she was going with it.

“That he looks quite pale and starved?” He then asked with a quirk to his brow, which made Harriet then nod at him.

“Yes.”

“Well, from the time I had met him, it seemed that he had always been this way, by his own choice it seems, after I had the courage to ask him about it. “ Marius then explained, which made the young girl look quite sad at that then, before she then turned to him in determination.

“I’m going to get him to eat,” She then said, which surprised him, but he shouldn’t have been if she was anything like her parents and his nephew. She truly had a heart of gold, and worried like quite the mother hen when she could, especially concerning one of their own. And Harriet was no different, she was truly a wonder. He then once more thought to himself, before he then gently smiled at the girl.

It’s good that he had stacked some donor blood in the house then.

“And I am sure you will, love, but before you do- We are going to go shopping.” He then announced to the now frowning girl, who was looking at him in confusion, which he chuckled at.

“For you of course, there is a closet and room for you that is waiting to be filled of course!”

Godric woke from his dayrest with a frown, for it seemed that he was not the only one in the, which he believed to be a tightly closed room before. But he saw no one in the room, even though he felt eyes staring at him in anticipation then?

This confused him even more, before he then turned to look above him, and there she stood, almost the same way he had stood all those years ago, when he had met his first childe…

Was this Karma ? He thought while he gazed at those bright eyes of the child in front of him, who then turned to smile at him from where she was laying on, on a wooden beam on the ceiling…

How she got there, he would never know…

“You’re awake! Good, don’t worry, I was guarding you! Uncle Marius explained it all to me, so rest assured- I did not let any monster get to you!” Harriet then said with a bright beam at him, which made Godric only look at her in blankness.

“Is that so? Well, I am most thankful for that, little one, but you should not have, for I would have been alright either way, for no monster especially, could go against me.” He then said in amusement, which surprised him.

But then his mind turned dark, at the last bit.

Monsters huh.

The child was not aware that he was the most monstrous of all…

“And I got you breakfast! Or well dinner?” Harriet then said, and Godric then watched in worry as she pushed off of the wooden beam she had been sitting on, expecting her to get hurt from the fall he then immediately opened his arms to catch her.

But he should not have worried, for, he then watched in awe as she simply neared to the ground in a slow manner, she was doing this.

This was magic.

But then again, from the time he had seen her swing on the swing before, and well get off it- he had thought that he had been imagining it when she floated off of it…

And she was doing it now, floating down to him.

And then she hugged him, and Godric stood frozen at the gesture and feel of her soft and very breakable tiny body against his.

He could break her like a toothpic, it would be that simple, but instead , he encompassed her slighter body in his arms then.

For it felt right to, and he wanted to do so.

He then realises that he is nuzzling her hair then, which made the girl in his hold then giggle at the feel of him.

“Oh before I forget, here!” He then heard her say, before she pulled a thermos under his nose, which he then quirked his brow at.

“It’s warm blood! Or AB- to be precise, uncle Marius said that you might like this bloodtype better than the others,” Harriet then explained after seeing his stumped expression.

“You will drink it, won’t you?” She then asked in wide-eyed concern. Which he stood still at, at the obvious concern she had for him .

“Little one-” He then tried to say, to deny it, the blood, for he did not need it, he once more thought in stubbornness, for he had made the choice to do so for these past few years, even against wishes and concern of those close to him, especially his childe, Eric.

“I know what you’re going to say, Godric, uncle Marius told me, he told me how you starve yourself on, on- on purpose, ” The young child then said, with tears in her eyes, which startled him, for she was crying for him?

“Harriet, I will not-” He then tried to once more say, before the young girl audaciously shook her head at him, and pointed at him in a stern way, which looked all but that, for the child simply looked adorable, once more, like an enraged kitten..

“No! I won’t hear it, for whatever reason you may be doing it for, Godric- this is not the way! And firstly: I don’t care that you’re a vampire, what I care about is you, your my friend, best friend , Godric. I don’t want to see you in pain!” She then let out, and with it her tears, they then fell down her cheeks like rivers, and Godric stood frozen in alarm at the sight of it.

“Alright.” He then simply said, to not make her hurt because of him; for he did not like seeing her this way. A part of him even pushed at him to make her feel better…

But it seemed that she had not heard him, for she then met his eyes in determination, and what she said shocked him to his bones then.

“If you won’t feed from this, then drink from me.” She then firmly said, while she showed him her tiny arm.

And Godric stood frozen in horror at the sight of it, before he firmly shook his head then and softly grasped her by the shoulders.

“Never do that again, not for me, or anyone else!” He then begged,

“I will drink the blood from before, but never yours, so do not ever try that again. Swear it to me!” he then said, all the while his eyes burned into the wide and confused ones of the child in his grasp.

“You-You will?” Harriet then asked in confirmation, all the while she then lifted the thermos bottle in her other hand towards him, which he then gave a nod to in confirmation, which then seemed to make her happy, by the little smile she then gave him.

And he then let go of her and grasped the bottle to drink it, all the while the little one watched him do so.

His fangs then ached at the feel and taste of the blood, the donor’s blood was fresh, and tasted quite fruity if he had to describe it, it was very filling, but it of course did not fill him up completely… he missed this. He then guiltily realised. But all the while he had been drinking it, and thinking, the child in front of him had been gazing at him in thought as well, for her eyes looked at him in worry and something else, which she would not tell him of, until years later.

When he was done with it, he was then gifted with a very happy Harriet,

“You’re still hungry, right? Uncle Marius has some more for you,” she then told him, expecting him to drink them as well, which he, begrudgingly, for he had promised, he would do.

The child was quite the gift for having her way it seemed, he then thought in amusement.

But he was glad that she was now starting to grow into herself, after what she had been through…which made him darken at the memory of the night before, before he shook his head and turned to nod at the young child, who then beamed even brighter in happiness at him. And Godric was entirely frozen against it…

“But can I ask you, why you won’t drink from me?...Do I not smell good to you?” The child then asked in consciousness, which baffled him then.

For she smelled very enticingly to him, she smelled of nothing he had ever smelled before…

He looked at her in sterness then,

“You are a child, Harriet, it is a crime to drink from children.” he told her.

Harriet then seemed to accept that, before she then gazed to him with a hopeful look in her eyes.

“Will you then drink from me when I’m older?”  She then asked him, which made him balk at this then.

“Harriet-” He then tried to say, to reason with her that she does not know what she is asking, but the child once more interrupted him, which baffled him oncemore, at the audacity of the child, for he would not have let anyone else cut him off like that.

“Please, I really want to, please?!” The child then begged him, with those large and searing eyes of her, which had him once more bewitched at the sight of them, but then again- she was a witch.

But Godric shook his head then, before he once more turned to gaze at the child in incredulousness.

“You do not know what you are asking of me, Harriet, and neither will I tell you what it all will entail, for you are much too young for that.” He then simply said, expecting the matter to be closed then.

Later then ,” Harriet then nodded to herself, as if it had already been agreed with, that she would make him feed from her when she is older, but before he could sayanything to her, she then pulled him with her towards the door, which then opened without any of them touching it…

Here he then looked at the small girl in front of him in wonder.

She used magic to get inside the room…

“Uncle Marius, Godric agreed that he would drink from now on!” Harriet then shouted for the man in the house, and he then heard the man answer from where the living room was situated.

“Well done, love!” Marius praised, and Godric had to then stop his eye from twitching at the realisation of it all, of him having fallen to the whims of a mere child.

He who has been called Death.

It was hilarious.

But well, they then reached the room and saw an already awaiting Marius, who then handed him another warm bag of blood, this time not in the thermos container. It seemed the man had been expecting this outcome, which Godric did not react to in the slightest, for he drank from the bloodbag, once more, at the behest of Harriet.

“I am so glad to see you well, my friend. It is truly a blessing.” Marius then said with a smile, all the while he then hugged the little girl against his side.

And looking at the both of them, they truly did look like family. But furthermore- they truly acted like it as well, it looked natural. Especially because the young child felt and seemed to be truly at peace by the looks of it.

This would make it easier then, he decided.

Easier to leave, for she did not have a need of him, not truly.

She would be fine, he then told himself.

But like everything with one Harriet Potter, the expectations and choices of one will be thrown outside of the window whenever she is set on something. There would not be any budging it…

“No.” The child then said to him, after he explained that he must leave for his nest now.

The young child had brought him to her room and had shown all that Marius had bought for her, from the clothes to the countless of other things which now decorated the room, it now looks lived.

“Young one,” He softly said, after he saw her eyes once more filling up with tears, which she tried to hide from him.

“No, Godric! I don’t want you to leave, you promised.” She then said, which made him freeze at that, before he then once more gazed at her, but he now kneeled on the ground in front of where she was sat at her bed. The child was now furiously wiping away her tears in front of him.

“Little one,” He then cooed, at the sight of her crying. Wanting to her to not cry anymore, but the young child shook her head at him, all the while she sniffed her nose, all the while her tears kept on streaming down her little face.

She then gazed at him in heartache, which made him freeze at the sight of it.

“You promised that you wouldn’t leave me, Godric. Can’t you stay for a little while, at least?” She then begged him.

And Godric, seeing as there was no other way …accepted.

“For a little while then.”  He then promised, which made the child’s eyes widen at it in surprise and happiness then, before she then crashed into him with a hug.

“Thank you, Godric!”

He looked at the sleeping body of the young girl who was curled against him on the bed,all the while he pressed call on the number in his mobile telephone.

The child did not want him to leave her sights, and he had decided to stay with her until she would finally sleep, but even now, Godric could not find the will to pull away from her hold on him.

For she did have a hold on him, he then realised. Marius had been right, their meeting might have not been by chance, for it had been fated…

“Godric?” Was the voice of his closest then, Isabel.

“Isabel, I am calling you to inform you that I shall be staying for some time more until I will join you in our nest, you will continue to be in charge then.” He then told her.

“Alright Sheriff, no problem. And rest assured, there have not been any problems as of now,” She then said, before she turned to ask him a question then, one he should have been used to by now.

“Sheriff, have you fed?”

Godric then stopped his ministrations for a moment, and he now realised that he had been grazing his fingers softly against Harriet’s soft strands of hair. Which made him gaze at her then, before he answered his underling.

“...I have.”

“You have?!” Isabel then said in wonderment, and happiness.

“That is great, Sheriff! Should I let Eric then know?”  She then asked, which he shook his head at with a quirk to his lips.

“No need, I shall tell him when he calls me afterwards.” He answered.

“Does this have anything to do with your sudden leave then? If so, I am glad for it.” Isabel then gently said.

“It has.” He then admitted to the vampiress, which made her surprised, but happy by it.

“Goodnight, Isabel.” He then tells her, which she reiterates, before he closes the call.

His gaze was still on the child sleeping in his hold, and stayed until he had to leave for his own (day) rest in the chosen room for him.
