The second summer trip: lesbian inclusion edition
Summary
Remember the second trip to chiyo's beachhouse? Where Kaori was massively disappointed by her inability to come due to having club activities and lesbians worldwide collectively weeped for her misfortune? Well in this version, I've thought of the question "What if Kaori's club activities didnt overlap the second time?" There may be parts where it reads like they're in third year because while writing I initially planned for it to be in third year, but changed my mind last second to have more freedom for continuation. Its my first fic so please be nice <3 hopefully I'll think of more lesbian stuff to continue this, probably based on ANOTHER episode of azumanga daioh, but for now this is what you get.
Note
I put Kagura/Osaka as a relationship tag but it's only minor flirting, unfortunately there was no option for minor flirting.

Chapter 1

As the sun shines in tandem with the summer breeze, a lone student is walking to her high school, early as to not get caught in the stress of being close to late. Since she has time, she crouches down and pets a cat softly, who seems to enjoy the company. This girl's name is kaori, or kaorin if you're close, but you probably already knew that so, lets skip introductions. As she approaches closer to the school, she notices two of her classmates also walking, so she jogs over to meet them.

Kaori: "Hi, Osaka! Chiyo!"

Chiyo turns and looks up at her joyfully, her usual innocent self.

Chiyo: "Kaorin! I didn't know you walk this way to school!"
Kaori: "This is my normal way, i thought you walked from over there" she says as she points in the general vicinity of Chiyo's street.

Chiyo stops for a moment, looks back at her street, then looks a bit embarrassed and giggles.

Chiyo: "Oh, yeah! We came from that way! Heheheh."
Kaori: "Y-you forgot... What street you live on...?"
Osaka: "Cars're pretty cool."
Chiyo: "Well i guess we just wandered around and lost where we were, so we just hung out in town somewhere."
Osaka: "How much do you guys think a car costs?"
Chiyo: She turns back to her spacey friend, a bit bewildered by the question. "What are you saying? Why do you need to know?"
Osaka: "People always brag about buyin' expensive or fast cars. So what's the least amount of money ah could buy one with?"
Kaori: "Hmm... Maybe tomo or Kagura know!"

The three of them proceed to head off to the school to try and get the thrilling answer about the price of cars, but before they do, they bump into their English and Homeroom teacher, Miss Yukari, who seems to be in a rush as usual despite it being a good 20 minutes before class is meant to start. As Chiyo sees Yukari, she goes for greetings, not noticing the rush she's in.

Chiyo: "Hi Miss Yuka-!"

Before Chiyo can even finish her name, let alone a sentence, Yukari has already run past to try and get wherever it is she's going.

Chiyo: "Wah!" As she regains her balance, she, as well as the other two, look off at Yukari, running off into the horizon.
Osaka: "Wow, I've never seen our teacher tryna be so punctual."
Kaori: "Do you think she's planning something sinister...?"
Tomo: "i heard she's planning to stage a coup!"

All three of the girls immediately jump back in shock, only to realise the voice they heard was their rambunctious, tomboyish classmate, Tomo, who seemed about as riled as ever.

Osaka: "Ah, Hi tomo!" she raises a hand in greeting, to which tomo responds with an energetic wave.
Tomo: "Osaka, we need help settling a debate!"
Kaori: She looks around a bit before questioning "Who's 'we'?"

As if by magic, Kagura appears from nowhere, looking determined as ever.

Kagura: "We need to settle on which is better; onigiri, or sata andagi!"
Osaka: Her eyes suddenly light up with glee, as she rushes over to kagura. "Do you guys have sata andagii??"
Chiyo: She looks up at kaori, almost with a jokingly pitiful expression. "Uh oh, now she's been set off..."

Kaori giggles at this comment as they all start heading to the school again. It's moments like these, as you can expect, that Kaorin cherishes most. Not the waking up in the morning, getting to school, going to bed, or even any clubs or lessons, rather the time she spends with her closest friends. However, no matter how much she cherishes that, and how many times she goes to class where the same things happen every day, she's always unprepared to see one specific person, and yet it's always the main attraction, her energy to fuel her for a lifetime, the absolute highlight of her day.
