It's Up to Me

Chapter 12

____________

Lifting himself using magic, Harry step into the chamber inside the mouth. And then Harry gasped, freezing and stare with wide eyes.

'Oh hell no..!'

he felt a pair of eyes watching him. Turning slowly to side, his wand held at the ready, he found himself face to face with a piercing basilisk eyes.

The pair belongs to a adult basilisk, looking at him like grieving and longing? Maybe this one is the mate of the basilisk he killed. Oh Merlin.. What have he done..!

Beside the grieving basilisk, Harry spotted another set of eyes, smaller and less menacing. These belonged to a young basilisk, a mere hatchling compared to its parents. Despite its youth, the basilisk's eyes held a curious innocence, tinged with a hint of fear and at the sudden appearance of an intruder.

"Hello..! I am Harrison. Regent Slytherin." Harry bowed his head and greeted.

"Welcome to our nest, Young regent Slytherin. You are the boy who killed my mate.."

"I apologize for that." Harry lowered his eyes. He never want to kill the basilisk.

How come he can stare at the basiliak eyes..? Why he is not dead? Those questions circle his mind.

"You are still a hatchling yourself young one. It is not your fault that my mate listened to a wrong person. No matter how much its pain me." Adult basilisk replied.

"Oh.. I am still sorry for your loose. What is your name?" Harry asked.

"My name is Thorn. This is my hatchling Alistair. My mate was Saphira. What are you going to do now hatchling slytherin?"

"Do you want to stay here Thorn?"

"No. I stayed because of my mate. She never wanted to leave here. This place was her home. Gifted by her first human. Master Salazar."

"He knows what happened to her. He is grieving too. Slazar never wanted something like this to happened . He placed her to protect the school. In the end I had to kill her to protect the school. You can come with me. You don't have to stay at this place. I am going to be the king of viola. I will prepare a place for you in there. Have you hear about it?" Harry hoped he does.

"Yes. Master Godric's kingdom. When will we leave hatchling slytherin?"

"You can come with me now. I can put a shrinking charm on you and your hatchling or you can stay here for a while until I find a place for you."

"We will come with you hatchling slytherin. But you need to know something first."

"Oh, what is it?" Harry asked, tilting his head to meet the basilisk eyes.

"Come closer hatchling Slytherin." Thorn whispered.

As Harry cautiously approached Thorn, he noticed something nestled beneath the serpent's massive coils. With a flick of his forked tongue, Thorn nudged aside a pile of leaves, revealing three large, leathery eggs resting in a shallow nest of twigs and moss.

The eggs gleamed softly in the dim light of the chamber, their smooth surfaces reflecting the flickering torchlight. Each egg was the size of a large Mango.

Harry's breath caught in his throat as he gazed upon the eggs. Thorn watched Harry's reaction with keen interest. Harry reached out to gently touch one of the eggs, awe at its smooth, resilient shell. Looking up at Thorn, Harry nodded solemnly, silently acknowledging the gravity of the situation.

"You seek protection." Harry stated.

"I do. My mate is dead. I must protect my hatchlings. I have no duty here hatchling Slytherin. I want be free. I want my hatchlings to feel the freedom."

"You and your hatchlings will be protected. You do not have to worry."

"Thank you hatchling Slytherin." Thorn bowed his head showing hid respect.

"Thank you Master Harrison." Alistair did the same as his sire.

"Your welcome. Let's me take the eggs first. After that I will shrink you. So You cam coil around eggs." Harry said.

Gently and carefully Harry lifted each of the basilisk eggs, cradling them in the palms of his hands as if they were fragile treasures. (They are.) With a flick of his wand, he cast a warming charm over his pocket, creating a safe and comfortable environment.

He tucked the eggs into his pocket. With a soft murmur of incantation, he shrunk the two remaining basilisks, reducing them to miniature versions of their former selves.

Carefully, Harry scooped up the tiny basilisks, handling them with the same gentleness he had shown the eggs. With a flick of his wrist, he levitated them into his pocket, ensuring that they would be kept close to the eggs at all times.

With the basilisks safely stowed away, Harry breathed a sigh of relief. Everything will be fine.

Harry found himself face to face with a distinguished-looking wizard, his attire adorned with various pockets and pouches. The man had a gentle smile.

"Lord Potter, I presume?" the man greeted warmly, extending a hand.

"I'm Newt Scamander. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

Harry shook Newt's hand firmly, feeling a sense of excitement at the prospect of meeting someone with such a reputation in the field of magical creatures.

"The pleasure is mine, Mr. Scamander," Harry replied, a hint of awe in his voice. "I've heard so much about your work with magical beasts."

Newt chuckled softly, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "Ah, well, you know how it is with rumors and legends. But enough about me. I heared from goblins you need my help?"

Harry nodded, "I am to be the of Viola."

"Viola? Never heared of it." Newt frowned.

"It's still under the wards. As the Lord Griffindor I am the owner of the viola. It is two times bigger than Australia. The problem is Mr.Scamander, viola only has 1 building and that is Griffindor castle. Everything else is a thick jungle."

Newt straighten his spine when he hears the words thick jungle. "Ah.. It is a good thing you call me. When will we be going Lord Potter?" Newt grinned.

"Thank you Mr. Scamander. I will pay you for your time." Harry smiled. One problem is solved.

"No need. I only ask, allow my brother to come with me."

"He will have to sign same contract you sign. And I will pay you both. Do not argue please." Harry lean back with his hand behind. He refuse to use Newt Scamander just like that.

Newt stare at the young man infront of him. "Very well."
