Discussion time

It was almost midnight and most of the wizards and witches had gone to bed after a long day of school. The demigods’ plan to sneak out may have to wait for a while after 12.

Jason, Reyna and Frank were able to leave as all the Gryffindors were asleep. They found out that the caretaker Filch and his cat would be patrolling the corridors. Getting past them would be child’s play compared to the harpies at Camp Half-blood.

Leo and Annabeth were expecting to have trouble because Luna seemed to stay in the common room for hours. Leo became friends with her immediately. She finally got tired at around 12:15 and went up to bed.

Piper, Thalia and Nico were late because the Slytherins all seemed to be nocturnal. Thalia went to the bathroom and sent an Iris message to Percy. She told him they’d be a bit late. Fortunately they were able to get out at around 12:45.

Will, Hazel and Percy were the first to get out of their common room. They were the first to get to the empty classroom they’d picked out during break.

They all got there without running into Filch.

“Ok,” said Percy. “Now we’re all here, does anyone of you have an idea of who might be the prophecy kid?”

“Yes,” said Reyna. “It’s probably Harry, in defense against the dark arts he said something about Voldemort.”

“And he could see the thestrals,” Nico pointed out. “Prophecies don’t really happen to people whose lives are all sunshine and rainbows.”

“Wait,” said Percy. He’d been hearing all the demigods’ blood but now there were two more. “Piper, I think we might have some intruders.”

“Got it,” she replied. “Show yourselves!”

Piper’s voice was so commanding that Harry and Ron obeyed immediately. They took off the invisibility cloak.

“Seriously?” Percy asked, exasperated. “It’s really rude to eavesdrop, you know.”

Harry had a million questions going through his head. Most of them starting with what and how.

“I thought you weren’t followed,” Percy turned to Jason.

Jason shrugged. “They were invisible, not my fault bro.”

“They’re here so might as well ask some questions,” Annabeth put her hand on Percy’s.

“Can I ask a question?” Harry asked, confused.

“You just did,” said Leo. Piper stepped on his foot. “Ow!”

“What are you all doing here?”

“First of all, it’s obvious. We were discussing some stuff.” Percy said.

“What stuff?” Ron asked.

“Shut up tomato, I’m not done,” Percy ignored the question. “Second, what are you doing here?”

“We followed those guys,” Harry replied, pointing to the Gryffindors. “What were you talking about?”

“That’s classified information,” said Leo. This time, Nico kicked him. In the shins.

Thalia sighed, “Nico, stop kicking people’s shins.”

“Never.”

“Just ignore them,” said Annabeth as she turned to the wizards. She looked pretty scary in the dim light of the room. “Why are you listening in on our conversation?”

She drew out her dagger and threatened them with it. They backed up against the wall. It wouldn’t do anything to mortals but it did look very terrifying.

“We just wanted to know for sure if you were spies from Voldemort or not!” Harry said quickly. “Please put the knife down!”

Annabeth lowered her weapon but she still had a malicious glint in her stormy gray eyes.

“Why do you have weapons?” Ron asked. “I know you don’t use wands at your camp but I thought you had powers.”

“Some of us have powers,” Annabeth corrected. “I do not have a flashy power like these guys.” She gestured to the other demigods.

“Her power is making good life decisions,” said Piper. “The rest of us are idiots who’d be dead by now if it weren’t for her.”

“This is off topic,” said Annabeth, but she was slightly less angry now. “You thought we’re spies of Voldemort?” she asked Harry.

“Yeah.”

“We’re here because of Voldemort, he did not send us here.”

“Why are you here?” asked Ron.

“We’ll tell you tomorrow,” said Annabeth. “It’s getting late. Meet us here. Same place, 1 am.”

“Bring the curly haired smart one, too,” Reyna told the boys. “I have a feeling she’ll be interested in all of this.”

“Will do,” Harry said. He and Ron donned the invisibility cloak and left immediately.

“So what do we do?” Ron asked.

“We’ll go with Hermione,” Harry replied. “We can try to get any valuable information. I don’t fully trust these guys, though.”

In the classroom, Percy was expressing his concern.

“Are you sure we can trust them?” he asked. “What if they rat us out to the other wizards?”

“We’ll see tomorrow,” Annabeth told him. “Hecate said we’d meet a trio of helpful people and they might be it.”

The others nodded in agreement.
