Train

Harry and Ginny are finding a carriage on the train after Ron and Hermione went to sit with the other prefects. They find one which is almost empty. There’s a Ravenclaw girl, who Ginny introduced as Luna Lovegood, and a kid with messy black hair like Harry’s. He was fast asleep.

A lot of time passed and then Ron and Hermione came in just when the lady with the food trolley was coming to their carriage. The noise from the little bell woke up the mysterious stranger. He looked like Harry. But with different eyes, taller, a little muscle, a tan, etc. He got some sweets from the trolley and dropped them near his bags.

“What’s your name?” Ginny asked the new kid.

“I’m Percy Jackson,” he said, he had an American accent.

“You’re not from around here, are you?” Ron asked.

“No,” said Percy. “I’m from America. Me and some of my friends were chosen to be part of an ‘exchange program’”

Hermione was very interested in this. “Are you from Ilvermony?” she asked.

“No,” said Percy. “Where I’m from is more of a secret. I was told we were just discovered by your headmaster a while ago.”

“If Dumbledore didn’t know about the place, it must have been near impossible to find,” said Harry.

“It is,” replied Percy. “There’s a magical border to keep the place safe.”

“What’s the curriculum like there? What subjects do you have in your school?” Hermione asked. She was very interested in how other places would teach magic.

“It’s not a school,” said Percy. “It’s a summer camp. Most of us go to normal school throughout the year. Some stay year round, though.”

“I hope you can catch up, mate,” said Ron. “Hogwarts is difficult enough with all the years here but to only learn in summer would make in ten times as hard.”

“What about the subjects?” asked Hermione again. Her question was not answered yet and she really wanted to know.

“We don’t have subjects,” said Percy, much to the shock of everyone in the room. “We do things like a camp. Like capture the flag, archery-“

“Don’t you learn magic?” Ginny interrupted.

“Not all of us have powers,” said Percy, every word that came out of his mouth made everyone so shocked it was funny. “Just some, like me. Most of us who came here do, though.”

“Don’t you have wands?” Neville asked.

“Nah, we just got ‘em a week ago,” Percy said nonchalantly, as he opened a chocolate frog box. “They’re not real frogs, right?”

“No,” said Harry. “Did you learn wandless magic then?” Magic without wands is very difficult. Only the greatest wizards were able to do it.

“There was no focus on magic,” said Percy. “Most of us just used weapons.”

“What kind of weapons?” Ginny was getting into this now. “Like swords, knives or what?”

“Whatever you want, we got to choose what weapon we want on the first day.” Percy said.

“What do you have?” Ginny asked enthusiastically.

“A pen,”

“A what?”

“A pen, it turns into a sword when I take the cap off.”

“Cool!”
