Shopping In Diagon Alley
Sirius sighed as he was dragged throughout diagon alley. He and Harry had just apparated there and Harry was already dragging him around, Looking through the lists of things that he needed, and dragging Sirius with him to different stores.
"Harry please. Slow down. I can't keep up with your speed like this." Harry hummed stopping and turning back to face Sirius before glancing around. There weren't very many people in the space they just ran to, or Harry did while Sirius was stumbling over his feet. Harry nodded, giving his Godfather the okay to do as he pleased. Sirius gave a sigh of relief, he was thankful he was an animagus, or else keeping up with Harry would've stopped his heart months ago.
Harry hummed, deciding to look through the list while ignoring Sirius who was already in the process of switching from human to dog. He heard the sickening cracking of bones and winced. He glanced over his shoulder at his Godfather who was on all four of his paws staring at the floor. Harry smiled again as he ruffled his godfathers hair. He laughed when Sirius Snapped at the air to get Harrys hand away. Harry yanked his hand away before standing up again as Sirius followed beside him.
"Let's go then. Padfoot." He mused with Sarcasm as Sirius growled at him in an attempt to shut him up. Harry laughed again as he looked back at the list.
"People don't know you like this right?" Harry questioned, glancing down at the Dog beside him. He watched as Sirius weirdly nodded.
"Okay. Then why don't we split up." Sirius gave a bark as to say okay. Harry couldn't tell how he could tell the difference, maybe it was because he's spent so much time with Sirius in animagus form that it's become easier to read his actions.
"Okay then. Here's the list of books. I'll get the wand and Uniforms, then we'll meet up here, so that we can get the rest of the stuff." He handed his Godfather the list of books and a sack of coins, both of which Sirius held in his mouth. Harry pat his head.
"Now be a good boy Padfoot." Sirius growled at him as Harry laughed again and started to seperate from the black dog. He made his way in a random direction. Eventually until he found the place he was looking for. Ollivanders. He gave a sigh of relief before stepping in. His eyes wondered the shop before stopping on a bundle of boxes piled on the till. As well as a book laid out and a lamp beside that illuminated the space. He huffed looking around the shop again as he took a step forward.
"Ah Mr.Potter. I'd say I'm lucky to have you hear but every young wizards been here once in there life " A man spoke, one who Harry assumed to be the owner of the shop, appearing from behind the shelves that were to close together for Harry liking as he caught the young boys attention. His feet moving down the steps as Harry watched him move.
"It seems only yesterday that your mother and father were in here buying their first wands." He announced as his fingers skittered over tattered boxes that withheld many different wands. His hands stopped on one as he pulled it out. Holding it as if it was the most fragile thing in the world.
"Here. Lets try this one" He hummed, removing it carefully from the box and holding it to harry. Harry took the wand, confused as he held it and stared at the man.
"Give it a flick." He said, his voice holding little to no annoyance. Harry hummed looking at it before waving his wand. It pulled out a bundle of boxes at the reciving end with a spark of orange coming following faintly behind. Harry gave a bewildered look as he forcefully put the wand on the counter.
"Apparently not." The man said glancing around before going back to retrieve another.
"Perhaps This one might be a better match for soemone like you." He announced opening the box and handing the wand over to Harry. Again he flicked it but instead of a bundle of boxes going flying a vase shattered. Spilling water and now wrinkled flowers to the floor with glass surrounding the area. Harry slammed the wand back onto the counter as the man gave a sigh and started back in search of the Harry Potters rightful wand.
He hummed to himself getting farther than Harry could see. Then he muttered something Harry just faintly heard from his spot beside the counter.
He came back around front wary as he handed the wand to Harry. When his grasp tightened around the wood Harry felt a feeling of magic surge through him as well as a gust of wind. He flicked the wand much to his surprise nothing happened.
"Curious very curious"
"Curious?" Harry asked diverting his attention to the wizard in front of him.
"I remember every wand I've ever sold Mr.Potter. it just so happens that the Phoenix who's tail feathers resides in your wand gave another. It is curious that you should be destined with this wand. Instead of any other. When its brother gave you that scar. "
"And who owned that wand." Harry asked, a bit of hesitation in his voice as only one logical person popped I'm his brain. He doesn't have many scars. Only a few and he doubted that the scar the man was speaking of was the scar he got from a muggle toddler he'd once lived with. Or the scar he'd gotten from playing to rough with Sirius and mind you they hadn't wands that evening.
"He's a great wizard Mr. Potter. Terrible but hes done many a great things. But the wand chooses the wizard Mr.Potter. ams though it is not always clear as to why, I think we can expect just as great a things from you." Before the man got another word to speak a scratch on the door caught his attention and Harry thanked his godfather for intruding. For the man had gotten to close for his liking amd just another step his nose would've been touching Harrys and he didn't really think he'd like that.
He gave a sigh of relief as the man gave a wrinkled expression and headed to the door. Opening it wide as he stared down at the black dog holding a bag of books in his mouth.
"Shoo. Go away." He hissed waving his hand as he went to shut the door. Before Harry stopped him holding the door as he looked down at the Dog.
"Sorry that's just my Dog. He's just a bit clingy. Must've been waiting very long." Harry mused but gave the man a look of pity. The man searched him then gave a disgruntled noise and turned back to the till.
"Be out in one second." Harry announced taking the bag of books from Sirius and heading back inside.
He returned to the side of his Godfather in animagus form as they started on a new journey in search of his robes.
"I blew up the store twice" Harry announced a little amused and shameful. He received a disapproving Bark.
"I didn't mean to. He made me try three different wands before we found one." Though it was weird the look he seemed from Sirius was a strange look to received from a dog. It was a mixture between "What?" And "Creepy." Though Harry interpreted it as "Are you sure?"
"Technically two wands before I found this one on the third but that's not the point. We need to get my robes." He announced and within a few more minutes they arrived at Madam Malkins.
Harry heard the ding of the bell as he entered the bustling shop with some children just as his age.
"Pardon young man. Animals are strictly forbidden from my shop." A woman hollared as Harry haulted and looked down at Sirius.
"He'll have to stay outside." She stated Matter-of-factly tapping her wand in hand. Harry looked back at the woman.
"I'm sorry to say but he a services Dog Madam." The woman furrowed her brows as if she was suspicious of his lies.
"How is he to help a child like you if I may ask."
"Even with my glasses I have poor sight. I require him to guide me with my blurred vision. I can just faintly see your face clearly miss." Harry lied, purposely moving his hair to reveal his scar as he adjusted his glasses. He heard the woman gasp holding her hand over but nodding as she gave him a slightly pitiful look.
"Very well then. Come along shall we. We must fit your robes Young man."
So that they did. She brought him round the back and had him stand on a Platform in a room hidden behind curtains as Sirius waddled behind them. She adjusted his clothes before flicking her wand. A tape measure dropping down to his feet then lining down his arms as she moved his sleeves up to reveal rather tanned skin with a very faint white scar. Then his waist as she had him hold his arms up.
It did a few more measurements around his shoulders, chest and head before it snapped shut twirling in a circle from the force and vanished. Harrys eyes widened as she hummed.
"Alright. I shall be back in a mere moment with what you require." She hummed as Harry held his arms up still wary of being hexed by the woman if he dropped them. She disappeared behind the curtains.
Harry waited patiently for the woman to return. To his surprise with how busy it was she returned in a simple five minutes with what he needed.
"Try it on. Then come to the till and leave your payment young man. I suppose you can do that right. Or must I have someone accompany you to ensure such things happen." Harry shook his head.
"I am no scandal. And I can assure you My dog would force me to even if I don't want to." She gave an amused look before swishing her hair and leaving Harry to his dressings. Harry removed his jacket, removing his sweater vest till he was in a simple white button up. He then threw the robe over and gave a shocked look to himself in the floating Mirror that appeared seconds later.
"These are surprisingly comfortable." Harry muttered, snuggling into the robe as he looked at himself in the Mirror. It fit snug on him, the sleeves hanging before he realized just how much time they had left before they had to get on train. He hurriedly took it off and returned to his original outfit.
Quickly he made his way to the till and gave his payment. Making his way out and being wholeheartedly thankful that nobody noticed him.
"Come on. Let's get home so we can gather my things. I obviously don't know where I'm going on my own." He huffed, closing his eyes as his chin pointed towards the sky. Or well, what would you call the ceiling that looked like a sky but you knew was bewitched? Sirius Barked, signaling him to pay attention since he was already leading the way.
Harry hummed standing back up as he held the bags in arms. He followed behind padfoot until they were back in an empty alleyway. Harry turned away again, deciding to give his Godfather privacy. Mostly because he thought the whole transforming from animal to Human thing, weird.
Sirius huffed as he wiped down his clothes. Taking a bag from Harry as he dug through his pocket.
"Let's go home then. The train should be here soon enough." Harry nodded turning back around as they apparated home.
Sirius groaned as he landed on his feet. He felt his whole soul being sucked out of him, swirled around, right before being placed back into his body; especially when he apparated as a dog. He glanced at Harry who was already packing up his things. He stuffed a trunk of clothes and robes. His wand being placed in the bottom with everything else.
He glanced around his room, wandering if he needed anything else before his eyes landed on Sirius.
"Wish I could take you with me." He muttered though it sounded throughout the whole room and Sirius gave a chuckle.
"Me too." He laughed, wrapping his arms around Harrys shoulders. Harrys arms wrapped around his torso as he squeezed tightly before letting go.
"You ready."
"No." Harry stated as Sirius laughed and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"We gotta leave or you'll miss the train." Sirius revealed, as Harry tried to bargain with him.
"Got it." Harry huffed, grabbing his letter that McGonagall had returned to him as per request. It had a ticket inside one that gave him the Platform number and which station he was to go to.
