Note
So I did start this idea around fourteen. Just recently I started posting it. But very recently however I have started to edit it. (Mostly because I finally decided to write out my plot line in varying months so that I'm not skipping over anything. Or all over the place because I can be.)So This story may not be actually published till like two years from now because I know myself and it normally takes me either In the mood writing or Forcefully a paragraph and that generally fucks everything up.

Dracos New friend

On August 5th Sirius made sure that Harry had been asleep before his departure was noticed. He left a glass of water as well as a note on his bedside to explain his whereabouts and what Harry was to do for the day. With a kiss to his forehead and a ruffle through his messy beheaded hair Sirius left. Heading to the second floor fireplace, he grabbed a fistful of floo powder, creating a mess he'd have to clean up later if the house elves hadn't and stepping into the fireless chimney.

He huffed, inhaling sharply before shouting the words: "Grimmuald Palace" and throwing the floo powder down, disappearing with a loud crack. Sparks surrounded him for a mere second before he dropped on his feet. He huffed, his curls bouncing as he was shrouded in darkness dusting off his clothes.

He felt guilt pool in his stomach as he searched over his home. Happy and regretted memories swirling as his fingers grazed over everything. From the table tops to the couch as he walked throughout the halls awaiting his sister's arrival. Flashes of screams and laughs at the touch of a different object. His footsteps echoing through the empty place with small specks of dirt.

Still the same as before he left it with the only difference being that of cobwebs and dust bunnies. He sighed, his stomach twisting at memories he buried long ago resurfacing. His feet landed in the kitchen as he hugged his stomach and made his way to the cabinets of Chinaware and tea sets visible through glass doors.

He pulled one open removing a tea cup with a small chip in the side. He smiled, his hand grazing over it and the swirls of green that moved like snakes. Thorns and roses being engraved into it. He chuckled weakly as he lent again the counter top. Placing it beside him as he headed back to the fireplace at the sound of a loud crackle.

He raised a brow, holding a smug grin at the boy in front of him grumbling about dirt and his hair and a timelimit.

His grin became a welcoming smile when he looked up at Sirius. His eyes a darker shade of blue that could almost be compared to black. His hair was messy, knotted up as he summounded a brush to comb through it. Wincing at every pull.

His skin pale but not alarmingly so that Sirius would have been afraid he was unwell just as his father's was. His face matching a striking resemblance of his mother's.

"Sass?" The boy hummed looking away as he brought his fingers through his hair after every brush stroke. Sirius laughed at it, reminding him oh so much of the way his brother did.

"Just had to be certain." Sirius stated walking over and taking the brush from the boy only to go through it the same as he was doing to seconds ago.

"When will She be here?"

"Around noon. Ponytail or braid?"

"Can you do a waterfall braid?" Sirius shook his head muting his laugh.

"Just like your mothers?" The boy nodded before Sirius shook his head in disappointed denial.

"Afraid not. The only person who was able to do those hasn't arrived quite yet."

"I thought you used to put your hair up like that?" He asked confused.

"Nope Narcissa did everything for me." Sirius announced as he brought the hair up into a high ponytail. The boy huffed crossing his arms as irritation formed on his face.

"Serpentine you do realize she won't be here for a while." Serpentine huffed handing back the hair tie on his wrist as Sirius finished up his task and the boy turned around.

"You look just like your parents." Sirius said softly as the irritation on Serpentines face faded into a sad smile. His arms dropping from his chest to his sides as he looked down at his feet.

"I want to see them." Sirius gave a saddened look back guilt pulling again as he squatted down and placed his hand on Serpentines shoulder.

"You know we can't do that." He whispered softly, as to not anger the boy any more than he possibly would've. "If we do that then their not safe and neither would you be."

"But–"

"Sass No. We're not going to do this again." Serpentine opened his mouth to argue but closed it when he found it useless in arguing. It'd always end the same with Sirius being hexed or emotionally hurt by the guilt and Serpentine running off to his room. He crossed his arms over his stomach giving a defeated but frustrated huff.

He huffed, pushing Sirius away and running off deeper into the house. Atleast the argument was restrained. Sirius pushed himself off the ground looking back over his shoulder to see Serpentine retreating up the steps.

———

Serpentine huffed in exasperation, throwing himself onto an old bed that looked much cleaner than everything else. Cobwebs still littered the room as well as dust and books that looked over thousands of decades old. Ratted and torn.

He stared at his feet his brows furrowed in annoyance. His feet kicking in confusion and his arms dropping in sadness.

It wasn't fair that he should be kept from his parents. He knew they were alive as much as any other person. He knew that his identity itself was a big issue to the world itself. But to have been kept from two people he was born from. That wasn't fair.

To be forced into hiding because of status was cruel. Another thing he found disappointing and absolutely rage inducing was the fact that he himself agreed to this. He didn't understand why but he knew he did.

If he knew it would've been for this long he would've never made the decision to be taken under the wing of his Uncle. Sirius was a loving and Kind person, he made sure Serpentine was safe and well fed. Happy and entertained, healthy and loved. Sirius gave him everything he wanted but at the same time Sirius couldn't give him the only thing he always asked for, which made things more complicated and had created doubts of Sirius as a person.

Instead of going on an instantaneous rampage of how horrible Sirius was for not letting him see his parents he fell asleep. The exhaustion from waking up to the sound of a crash and the process of his Memories messing with him, as per usual, we're already catching up to him. Waking up early was not his thing.

———

Serpentine hummed as he yawned and made his way down the steps. His irritation of not seeing his parents fading away as Narcissa Black, his godmother, popped her way into the house with a smile. He was so excited to see her. He was really excited to see if she was coming alone or not. Perhaps you couldn't tell but he was very lonely being the only kid to live practically all alone.

Serpentines ponytail sashayed behind him as he rushed down the stairs. He jumped off the bottom step and made his way to the fireplace. Sirius was already standing awaiting his arrival when the fire went out, and in its stead a woman. Her hair a mixture of blonde and black curls, and her eyes a bright blue with faint speckles of grey.

Sirius smiled brightly as He opened his arms and welcomed the woman with warmth and joy. Serpentine stood, waiting for their hug to disperse so he could introduce himself. To be honest the first time they met he wasn't expecting a dual haired woman of all things to come, he was, more so, expecting a woman of pitch black hair, as Sirius had; but seeing as how she did have a mix of black in her hair, Serpentine thought it fine and ever since he grew found of her smile and her dual colored hair.

He gave a close eyed smile as she pulled away and glanced down at Serpentine. Her brows furrowed in confusion as she gave an amused smile. She bent down, getting eye level with Serpentine as she ruffled his hair. He giggled as she gave a gentle smile.

"Hey Sass." She whispered and Serpentine titled his head at her voice. It was sweet, calming but alluring. It was a bit Hoarse as well which was what caused his confusion as it was never Hoarse or even weak. He could faintly see behind her makeup a light shade of pink that could've been mistaken for blush.

"Were you crying? Or are you sick?" Her eyes widened slightly before she gave a light smile and pushed a strand of his bangs behind his ear since they were to short to be pulled up into his ponytail.

"I'll explain later. I want you to meet someone of mine." He nodded, turning back to face Sirius as she removed his ponytail.

"He should be here in a few minutes but would you like me to properly do your hair?" She asked In a soft voice as she gave a jokingly pointed look to Sirius who shrugged as Serpentine nodded.

"Can you do it just like mothers?" He questioned softly as to not trigger something in her. Her hands froze as she glanced up at Sirius before she sighed and nodded, unwitnessed by Serpentine.

So there they stood quietly while Narcissa summoned Pins to help part his hair. She was nearly finished when the fireplace went out again, A kid of white-blonde hair stepping forward. He wiped down his clothes as he grumbled about something. A look of pure annoyance on his face and a scowl at his lips. Narcissa glanced up as she gave a light smile and started to finish Serpentines hair.

"Draco." She spoke as Serpentines eyes lifted towards the boy of blonde a look of confusion settling on his face. His confusion fading before his eyes lit up as Draco huffed in annoyance and glanced around, his eyes landing on Serpentine and his Mother.

A rather disappointed and disgusting look on his face. Serpentine gasped once seeing his eyes, they almost matched the hers, if not for the fact that they looked brighter in the shade of silver and seemed to sparkle. Almost like the stars of the night.

"Whos this?" Draco question, his tone held in disgust as he crossed his arms, still not looking away from Serpentine. Narcissa, glanced back at Draco as she put the last pin into Serpentines hair and kissed his head. Serpentine however didn't miss the look of saddness in the boys eyes. She held her hand against Serpentines back as she introduced the two.

"Well this is..." She paused, glancing back at Sirius for some sort of signal on what to say. He just shrugged and glanced down at Serpentine who was now being stared down as if he was a vile person who doesn't deserve to live. He would've agreed if not for the fact that he was amused by the boys eyes.

"This is Serpentine." She announced as Draco rose a brow and scanned over the boy in front of him.

"He's underneath Sirius' guidance and you'll be playing together for the day while I talk to Sirius." She spoke, giving Draco a "Please behave" look as Draco glanced back at his mother before returning his gaze to Serpentine. Dispise in his eyes though clearly written on his face was a muted expression.

"I don't like him."

"Draco." Narcissa warned, raising her brow in superiority a look of slight annoyance hidden behind it.

"I'm not playing with him either. He can do that himself."

"Draco!"

"Its find Cissa. He clearly is to much of a prick to play with lower class people. You should've left him in the ice palace he came from." Serpentine announced, as he mindlessly picked at the tips of his finger nails with a smirk.

"Serpentine!" Sirius Snapped.

"Pardon? I'll have you know I come from no Ice palace!"

"Really?"

"Really!"

"But your acting so bratty and Cold. I'd not be surprised if you started hexing people for just looking at you."

"Serpentine!" The two adults shouted as he gave an amused hum staring at Draco with a smug grin as he messed with the others brain.

"I am not a brat!"

"Then come play with me."

"Fine!"

"Fine."

"Fine!" Draco shouted as he stormed forwards and intertwined his finger with the other as he started to pull him around the house. Serpentine gave a smile to the two surprised adults, clicking his tongue and saluting as he was dragged backwards.

Serpentine stayed silent turning around as he switched hands he was being pulled by. Draco still storming through the place in a fit of anger as Serpentine chuckled making Draco stop. Serpentine gave a little laugh as Draco realized he didn't know what he was doing but hadn't yet noticed their intertwined hands.

"Sorry. Are you alright?" Serpentine questioned and Dracos eyes widened a bit at his voice. He hadn't heard it clearly before because he was irritated and not really paying attention. But just now it sounded of complete concern, he felt a slight bit bad before shaking his head at the thought. The repeated words of his father saying:

"Malfoys don't feel sympathy."

In his head.

"I would be if you let go of my hand." Draco snapped, realizing their position yanking his hand away as Serpentine ignored him. Serpentine gave a laugh, rubbing the back of his neck as he started down the hall again.

"You laugh a lot?"

"Sorry. Kind of a habit." Draco rose a brow, rubbing his wrist but not saying a word. He huffed as he followed the other boy down the halls. His eyes wondering, his lips held in a thin line as he found this rather boring. He stopped when he bumped into Serpentine, who glanced over his shoulder for a mere second before turning forward to face an Elf.

"Sorry Kreacher." The elf rose a brow before nodding his head knowingly when seeing Draco behind him. Serpentine gave a sigh of relief when he realized Draco wasn't listening. Because if he heard what the elf said just two seconds before, he probably would've flipped a switch.

"Ive Made breakfast for Serpentine and Sirius." Serpentines brows furrowed as he crossed his arms.

"Why?" He questioned, a slight irritation starting to bubble in his throat.

"Because Serpentine and Sirius have guests. I've thought it fine to make breakfast today." He said with a shake of his head. Serpentine sighed, nodding before waving Kreacher off.

"Come on. Kreacher made breakfast." Serpentine announced, starting down the hall again. Draco stared at him confused the entire time, until they made their way back down into the kitchen. When they arrived Dracos eyes widened as a gasp of surprise captured the others attention. His thoughts of the short elf they met mere minute ago gone in an instant.

"This place is–"

"If you finish that I'll have you hexed and dropped in an ocean of piranhas." Serpentine snapped as Draco gave a disgusted look as they made their way to the table. Plates of Pancakes, bacon, eggs and a wide variety of normal breakfast food sat on it.

"This seems like a lot for Two people." Draco mumbled as he gestered to the food. Serpentine gave a hum and sat down beside him.

"Well I normally have a huge appetite just grab whatever you want and put it on a plate were going back upstairs." Draco furrowed his brows as he filled up his plate, then a cup that was placed to his side with orange juice.

"We're not eating at the table?" Draco questioned.

"No. Why? It's not a normal day."

"Still we should eat here."

"Well. I don't want to."

"But it's not proper to eat without family." Draco announced as his thoughts spiral to what his father would think if he was caught not eating at a table. He thought about what would happen and what His father would say before shuddering at the thoughts.

"Stop being a git and just do it." Serpentine snapped, annoyance written clear in his tone and expression with the demand and question. Draco gave a scoff before obliging and following after Serpentine, making their way back to the room Serpentine fell asleep in.

Serpentine plopped himself onto the bed crossing his legs as Draco stood awkwardly with his plate in hand. Serpentine glanced at him before flicking his wrist as the door quietly shut behind him.

"What are you doing?"

"Just sit down" Serpentine huffed stabbing his pancake with a fork as Draco once again obliged but with some hesitancy. He copied Serpentines position as he crossed his legs then held them close together as he stared at his plate in confusion of what to do next.

"Now What?" Draco asked still confused and now rather uncomfortable with their method of sitting as hid heels were digging into his thighs. Serpentine paused, placing his fork down and sitting up straight as he scanned over Draco in seriousness.

"Pick up your fork. Stab your food. And eat it. Common sense." Serpentine stated sarcastically going back to eating as Draco looked back down at his plate. He grabbed his fork before poking at his food then stabbing it as he lifted it up to his mouth, looking down at it in distaste.

"This isn't proper." Serpentine scoffed, rolling his eyes as he jabbed his fork into his pancake again.

"What's with you an being proper?"

"I was raised by Purebloods not slobs we have certain ways we do things." Draco stated bitting his food with disdain.

"So? I was raised by a pureblood as well. Whats your point Draco?"

"Yeah well Malfoys are proper Wizards we're not suppose to eat in a different room than the one designed to be eaten in."

"Malfoy? Uhuh and I'm Tom Riddle." Serpentine furrowed his brows Iin irritation and confusion at his own words.

"Who?"

"Doesn't matter. Just eat." Serpentine dismissed as he snapped his fingers and pointed to the plate of food in front of Draco. Draco huffed, annoyed by the task he was given; Though he ate his food without complaining till he was finished then drunk his orange juice and looked around for somewhere to put his cutlery and empty dishes.

"Kreacher!!" Serpentine shouted as Draco nearly fell backwards off the bed startled by the loud noise. Kreacher appeared with a loud Pop behind him as Serpentine handed over his dishes edging Draco to do the same.

"Please take these. Thank you." Serpentine ordered without the tone of what one would seem. It sounded more like a request that could be declined or accepted. To which Draco gave a perplexed look.

The bed shifted bringing Dracos attention back to the other boy he was with. His legs laid straight and crossed one over the other as he laid against the head board of the bed with a book in arms. Draco gaped at him, his expression puzzled, his brows furrowed and his lips parted as he wondered how the other got a book that obviously wasn't there before.

Serpentine Paid no mind to his bewilderment, in fact he found it quite amusing his confusion. He flipped a page, the sound flittering throughout the room as it filled the silence. He glanced over his book, Examining Draco who looked unaware of what to do next. He showed a smirk picking his head up as he never looked away from his spot in between the words he read and the pictures he searched.

"Your really awkward at this whole improper thing." Serpentine stated as Draco gave a hum and directed his attention to the tiny unraveled string on the bed, Mindlessly picking at it.

"I'm not meant to be improper. That's not how I was raised." Draco snapped, as he huffed and lifted his gaze to the boy behind his book. Serpentine hummed, flipping the page again not bothering to ask another Question.

They sat for a moment in silence, Draco searching around the room for something to relieve his boredom. Thankful, after not finding anything, Serpentine shut his book and laid it between them.

"How were you raised? If you don't mind me asking. You seem Uptight and stiff when your doing something that's improper."

"Pardon?"

"Just earlier when we were eating you looked worried, as if someone was going to jump out from behind in a surprise attack to scare you. Your body was stiff with each movement you made and hesitance and confusion are two of the most frequently used Emotions you possess. You were defiant in front of your mother early, carefree even. But now your just... you look Frightened I suppose. "

Draco gave a bewildered look his eyes wide in annoyance at how the boy just described him.

"What kind of freak are you. Watching my every move like that! You'd be lucky if I don't tell my father."

"Your father?"

"Yes."

"What will he do to me?"

"Don't you know who he is? He's head of the Malfoy Family. "

"Malfoy!" Serpentine shouted with a look of disgust.

"You Mean Narcissa Married a Man like that! I cant belive you live under such rules. No wonder your a jumpy kid. Im willing to bet you've been hit. Poor Narcissa having to witness that." Serpentine shouted again as Draco went to defend his father before his face dropped. There was silence as his hand dangled in mid air. Serpentine looked at him puzzled before the pieces clicked and he scrambled to his knees.

"He doesn't hit you does he?" Serpentine asked in a worried tone as he grabbed Dracos wrists. Draco gave a bewildered look instantly shaking his head as he scowled.

"My father would never hit me!" He snapped yanking his arm back before removing himself from the bed. He headed towards the door before it slammed and locked shut in front of him. His eyes widened in shock.

"He doesn't Hurt you does he?"

"You can do wandless magic!" Draco asked with a sparkle in his eyes as he turned around a smile on his face as Serpentine nodded warily.

"Of course I've been able to do it for a while."

"Can you teach me?" The blonde asked curiously sitting with one leg tucked under the other as he sat beside Seprentine who decided it best to dismiss their pervious subject with a bit of hesitation at first.

"It's complicated. I don't think I could teach you. But I've been studying it." Serpentine started, reaching back for his book on wandless Magic. "Maybe that's where we can start." He added opening it up and sitting straight up as Draco leaned over his shoulder to read as well. His breath sending a shiver down Serpentines spine before he was shoved away.

"Don't get so close. It's unsanitary and invasive." He hissed, a blush forming on his face as he placed the book between them. Draco nodded silently as he skimmed over the book, gasping as Serpentine watched. A smile on his face that lasted for hours as they discussed the contents of the book and did small magic that Draco requested of Serpentine.

A knock before the turn of the doorknob caught their attention and Draco hadn't even noticed he was still smiling until he caught a surprised look from his mother, causing him to frown and Serpentine to do the same at the lost smile he had taken quite a liking to.

"Is something wrong?"

"No nothing dear." Narcissa spoke a little winded as she gasped and gave a knowing look to Sirius who just stared forward at the two in suspicion. She rolled her eyes, Sirius was always suspicious of anything that didn't sit right with him. Good or bad. And she found it funny that this part of him had never changed.

"We're heading home your father requested we be back by lunch." Draco nodded getting up as he his limbs fell numb. His hand instantly reaching out to the boy beside him who's legs felt like a resemblance of jelly. They both wobbled for a second Serpentine snorting as he watched Draco stare at his legs as if they were betraying him.

"We should move around more instead of sitting still. Doing that could numb your legs."

"Numb them. My legs feel like their bound to fall off!" Draco shouted as his legs slowly returned to normal.

"I would say you'll get used to it. But I don't know If we'll ever meet again." Draco hid a saddened look as he took a step forward towards his mother who held out her arm.

"How about Next Month? Same date?" Narcissa suggested as they started down the steps and back down to the fireplace.

"I don't think that'd be a good idea. Isn't Draco starting up school soon." Narcissa gave a slightly disappointed look.

"I'm sure I can arrange something with the headmaster. " Sirius glanced back at Serpentine who just shrugged as he trudged behind them.

"We'll figure something out. But until then It was nice to see you again Cissy." Sirius announced Stopping to hug her in front of the fireplace. His arms wrapping around her waist as he patte deer back softly before kissing her forehead.

"I'll write you a letter. Hopefully it won't be intercepted." Narcissa nodded ushering Draco to their exit.

"Wait!" Serpentine shouted, startling Draco as he flung himself around his shoulders. Draco gave puzzled look to the elder two who just watched with a small smile. Hesitantly he wrapped his arms around Serpentines waist. Serpentines gripped tightened around him as Draco awkwardly stood before melting and humming.

"Friends?" Serpentine asked in determination, as if he needed to know for certain that that's what they were.

"Friends." Draco declared as Serpentine unlatched himself and waved as Draco smiled and floo'd away with his Mother following right behind.
