An addition to the family and horcruxes

James appeared in the doorway looking worried, right behind him Lily.
"You can ask James." Regulus mumbled.
"Reggie." Lily said, running to the bed.
"Lils." He replied.
"Reg, was it that bad?" James worried.
"No, yes...maybe. It was just scary." Reg assured.
"It was scary to talk to the Lord Voldemort? Oh and to even talk about conditions? Totally not scary." James joked.
"I love you James." Regulus smiled.
"Love you too"
"I'm just a bit shaken up, ok?" He turned to Lily.
"You sure?" She wanted him to be absolutely okay.
"I'm sure." He assured

"I wanted to talk to you both, but I'm not sure if it's the right moment." Lily worried, pacing around the room.
"It's fine, I want you to be able to express yourself." Regulus sat up.
"Go on." James assured.

"I've been thinking..." She started, "we are in a polyamorous relationship."
James nodded.
"But it seems that it's coming a bit short on my end." Lily complained.

"I don't understand?" Prongs asked.
"You and Regulus are dating, the thing between me and him is more platonic and and about acceptance." Lils explained.
"I'm sorry if I made you feel that way. If I'm in the way of your relationship..." Reg assumed.
"No not at all." She took a deep breath.

"I love that you're here Regulus, I love you. But I am not dating you and you're not dating me, we're just dating the same guy." Lily stated.
Regulus nodded agreeingly.
"I don't want to stop dating either of you..." James whined.
"And I don't want to stop dating you either. I just thought about something." She trailed off.
"What?"

"Do you remember when I told you about Mary?" Lily blushed.
"Mary MacDonald?" Reggie interjected.
"Yes, her. I think I might have a crush on her. Don't take this wrong, I'm still polyamorous and I still love you, James. But I'm thinking about asking her out and if she's fine with our arrangement, I might start bringing her here." Her eyes were shining and even Regulus could see that Mary seemed to mean a lot to Lily.

"So why not just go and ask her?" James questioned.
"I felt the need to talk to you both about this. We are in this arrangement together after all." She argued.
"I understand that." Reg agreed.
"So go ahead, me and Regulus are fine with it." James assured her.
"Thank you."
"You can just test the waters first. You don't have to immediately make the commitment, but we'll be there for you none the less." Regulus smiled.
"I will." She agreed.
"Trust me, I'll be happy as long as you are." James stated.

Lily soon decided on meeting up with Mary, trying to confess her interest in the other woman. She sent her a letter asking to meet up.

"Hello", Lily greeted with a smile.
"Hey, how are you?" Mary replied.
"I'm fine, how about you?" She asked.
"Oh. I'm doing ok." Mary smiled, "What did you want to talk about?"
"Ah erm." Lily mumbled, "I ehm wanted to tell you something."
"What is it?" The dark haired girl questioned.
"We've been pretty much best friends for a long time now..." She laughed awkwardly.
"Yes?"
"I was thinking...this might be strange." Lily looked away.
"Don't worry, I won't laugh!" Mary assured her.
"It's not that. I want to tell you, but you might not feel the same..." Lily worried.
"I can't promise anything, but I promise whoever you've killed I'll stay your friend forever, ok?" She chuckled.
Lily smiled, looking genuinely relieved.

"I like you." Lily confessed.
"Lils..."
"No. I mean like, I like like you."
"Lily"
"Like, I like you romantically. Not just as a friend." She explained.
"Lily! Calm down." Mary grabbed Lily's hands.
Lily looked at her, eyes wide.
"Lily, I like you too." She smiled warmly, "I really like you."

Both women took a few minutes to calm down again, before continuing their conversation.

"Mary, you like like me?" Lily asked.
"I do."
"Mary, do you know about my arrangement with James?" She inquired.
"I know only a bit of it." Mary looked down on the ground.
"I'd really like to date you, but I don't want to leave James and I do love him." Lily stated.
"I would love to date you as well..." The young woman agreed.
"Would you be willing to date me even if I continue dating James?" The red haired woman asked.

"I don't want to date James though..." Mary argued.
"That's not how it would work. Can I explain?" Lily suggested.
Mary nodded.
"It's kind of like a line. At the beginning James and I started dating, we established that both of us are polyamorous, he's bi- and I'm pansexual. He started dating Regulus a little over two years ago, I'm not really dating Regulus and he's not dating me." Lily explained.
"So..." Mary hesitated.
"So if we started dating...you would only have to date me. I'd continue dating James, while also dating you." She finished.
"I would only date you then?" Mary assured herself.
The readhead nodded.
"Yes." Mary yelled.
"Yes you understand or yes you want to start dating?"
"Yes to both!" Mary grinned.
"Oh, oh wonderful." Lily reacted.

Both women stood up, payed and decided to go to the nearby park for a while.

James and Regulus still needed to have a conversation themselves.

"Jamie, you know about my plan with Sirius, right?" Regulus asked his boyfriend.
"I know." James answered.
"You're with us right?" Reg assured himself.
"I am. I've seen the same things you have and I bear a similar kind of anger." He hissed.
"Jamie?"
"Yes?" James asked.
"I love you."
"I love you too."

"I need you to do something for, or rather with me." Regulus stated.
"What would that be?" James questioned.
"For our plan to work properly we need to find the horcruxes, all of them and destroy them. I've found a few and even gathered some, but I will need your help to find, gather and destroy the rest." Reg asked of James.
"I- of course I'll help you. We do need to tell Lily." Prongs accepted.
"Yes, definitely. I'll send her an owl, I'll tell her to bring Mary too if it went well." Regulus decided.
"Yeah do that."
