Gay cousins have to support eatch other
"Cissy, Can we talk?" Sirius asked as he spotted his cousin alone on the corridor. "Please, this is very important to me," he added, knowing that Narcissa as a seventh-year prefect of Slytherin surely had more important things on her mind than talking to a rebellious fourth-year Gryffindor
She tilted her head a little, a look of bemusement on her face. "Of course," she replied coolly. "What is it?" She was in no way rude, but rather cold and straight to the point. The tone of her voice conveyed her question clearly: this was an act of pure politeness rather than any sense of desire to help or appease.
"Could we go into a classroom?" he asked without the confidence that was his main character trait. "I don't want anyone to hear us, it's a very private matter."
She looked you up and down. "Is that so?" An eyebrow went up, and a smirk touched the corners of her mouth. "Very well, we can go inside. But make it quick." She nodded towards the door and walked ahead of him, beckoning to follow her with a wave of her hand. When he walked past the archway, she closed the door, still looking around in case anyone was watching. She then turned to face him, once again with that half-smirk on her face. "Go on."
Sirius was very stressed out. He looked at his cousin uncertainly, "Cissy, remember when we were close friends?" asked "We trusted each other and told secrets that always stayed between us so we wouldn't go crazy keeping everything to ourselves," he continued, "I never told anyone that you were the one who spoiled this family heirloom of Uncle Cygnus, your father. I also kept to myself that you stole Bella's favorite hairbrush and some of her jewelry, and of course no one but me knows that you still keep in touch with Andromeda after she got involved with a Muggle and became a blood traitor. If our family found out about the latter, you would surely be disinherited like your sister."
Her eyes widened, and a low hum of shock escaped her lips. But then she blinked, and her icy eyes hardened once more. Cold and haughty she became once again. "This doesn't sound like a private matter," she hissed through clenched teeth. "It sounds like a blackmail."
"Oh Cissy, my dear cousin" Sirius smiled. "Do you really think I'm going to blackmail you?" he rolled his eyes "I just want to remind you of some things to be sure.." He stopped for a moment and sat down on the school desk. "that if I tell you a secret, you will keep it"
She looked back at you for a few moments, a small smirk curling her lip. "Very well." It wasn't a yes. It wasn't an agreement nor a permission. But it wasn't an outright "no" either. It seemed you had caught her curiosity, and she was willing to indulge this nonsense... For now, at least. "Well?" Her eyes were fixed on you, expectantly. There was a light amusement in them. "Go on. I'm listening."
Sirius smiled under his breath. In his heart, he knew that Narcissa hadn't changed that much in the three years since they had broken off their friendship because of hostile homes, and she spoke to him normally during the holidays, and she was cold only at school. "So this secret is about me and you can't really tell ANYONE" said the Gryffindor, emphasizing the last word. "I don't like Girls"
Her eyebrows furrowed for a second in confusion, while her half-smile faltered. But then her gaze hardened, and the amusement in her eyes returned. "You don't 'like' girls?" she repeated.
"I don't like girls in that way I sopposed like them. I don't find them atracttive even when I'm trying. I attracted to boys and I think thats making me gay" Sirius explain staring at the floor and avoiding an eye contact.
Narcissa snight and small laugh escaped her lips. A laugh of scorn and superiority, because how dare a 'pureblood' be interested in... The same gender. She did not say it, but it was written all over her face. "Well. That explains a lot."
The boy was surprised by her answer and the calmness in her voice, but something disturbed him greatly. "What do you mean that explains a lot?" he asked, looking at Narcissus with consternation and a little fear. Had she guessed beforehand? Did something in his behavior betray him? He was trying to pretend. "Did I do anything to suggest that?"
She tilted her head a little, the mocking smirk and gleam of amusement still flickering in her eyes. "Let's see," she started, slowly ticking off her fingers. "No girlfriend, ever. Never showed any interest in the girls, ever. You're a pureblood. It all adds up." Narcissa was very... Blunt. Very matter of fact about all this. "Not that there's anything wrong with it!" she added hurriedly, a bit too quickly. "We can't help who we are, after all. Right, cousin?"
"WE can't help who WE are" Sirius repeated clearly repeating the word 'we', he knew Narcissa had used it for a reason, it wasn't a simple mistake instead of the word 'you', because if it had been she wouldn't have said it twice and not like that. He looked at Narcissa thoughtfully. He quickly understood, she was just like him, only she hid herself perfectly. "You're better at pretending than I am, Cissy," he said with a soft smile
There was a long pause, as Narcissa's mouth opened and closed a few times. Her face slowly went through an array of emotions: surprise, then embarrassment, followed by a bit of shock. She stared at you with wide eyes. And it took her a good while to form her next few words. "W-well..." She cleared her throat. Then let out a small laugh. "This is..." She swallowed. "This is not a topic I'm... Used to discussing."
Sirius sat on the school desk swinging his legs and staring at his cousin. He didn't want to embarrass her or make her uncomfortable, but he wasn't going to keep quiet. "But I think we should talk about it," he smiled. "Gay cousins should support each other. You can tell me anything, don't deny the truth." he smiled again "Say what you think, don't be afraid"
"I'm not afraid!" Narcissa snapped, sounding offended. Not defensive, but offended. "It's just... A lot to take in, is all!" She sighed, folding her arms. Then shrugged. "So... How did you realise?" There was no smile on her face, now. Simply curiosity and maybe a hint of anxiety.
"Don't worry, I'm sure no one else noticed. You're an excellent actress Cissy" Sirius smiled "I just see what most people can't see. Things like forced smiles on official dates with Malfoy or fake joy at the engagement. You're so good at it that for a moment I actually believed you were in love with him." He rolled his eyes smiling
"Actor?!" Narcissa laughed, but there was no humor in her voice. "I am not an actor, Sirius..." She was almost insulted by his choice of words. "I do not pretend." She frowned, a bit angry now to be accused. Of lying. Of acting. Of faking. Of being less good. "I am not a liar. I just..." She stopped, and for a few quiet seconds looked at you. Her eyes searched his, studying them.
Sirius rolled his eyes smiling "Yes of course you're not an actress and I'm not a magic map by which I know where people at Hogwarts are and I've seen you many times with Alice Fortescue in some strange places, very close to each other" he said sarcastically and raised his eyebrows suggestively "
She stared at her cousin, and for the first time there was a hint of fear in her eyes. This boy had managed to discover... Too much. She opened her mouth to lie or say something, but she then quickly changed her mind and sat on the desk next to Sirius, sighing wearily. He stared at his cousin with some anticipation. He wondered if she would continue to deny it or eventually admit to being different just like him.
"Fine," she said, and her voice was tired, "you win. I don't know how you managed to piece this together, but... Yes. I am a... lesbian. Is that what they call it these days?"
Sirius smiled friendly and jumped down from the desk "Oh Cissy, I didn't win" he said with petity, soft voice "We're palying in the same team but differents fronts" he looked at her with calm gray eyes "I like boys, you like girls. We both are gay. We're gay cousins and we have to support eatch other"
Narcissa looked at you, her icy gaze softening as she stared at your calm grey eyes. Then she let out a sigh and smiled. "Fine. I'll support you," she said simply, a hint of amusement gracing the corners of her mouth.
"I support you too" Sirius smiled
"But you have to promise to never tell anyone else, and we will support each other like the same team. Agreed?" she asked
"I'm solemply swear I'll never tell anyone that you prefer pussy and bobbies than dick" Sirius promise on his very specific and direct way
Narcissa burst into laughter. The idea of Sirius and his... Bluntness, promising to keep her 'secret' was a bit too hilarious. But she was glad he was so supportive.
Sirius smiled genuinely, smugly, "Did I amuse and made laught the grim and stiff prefect of Slytherin?" he asked proudly. He walked over to Narcissa and wrapped his arms around her back. He hugged her cousin for the first time in a long time. When the girl calmed down, he slowly moved away.
Narcissa looked shocked by the sudden hug, but that smile on Sirius's face made everything much less awkward. She raised her arms and returned the hug, her cheeks flushing slightly.
"Thank you," she managed when the laughter stopped. She reached over and gave him a quick pat on the back. "The world is a weird place, but it's good to know I have someone who won't hate me for who I am."
"You're welcome" Sirius beamed. "This word is fucking messed up but it's good to know that I have someone from my 'motherfucker perfect and fucking awesome family', who didn't hate me"
"Well, you're right," she agreed. "Let's stick together, then. Let's protect each other. Because we're gonna need to stick together, now that we're both... Not quite like everyone else." She released her grip. She suddenly felt happier than she had felt in months. There was a light glimmer in her icy blue eyes.
"We are different than most purebloods, we are different than the rest of our family, but we are no worse. We are unique and we can see more than them." Sirius said with proud
Narcissa leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. She was smiling brightly. "We're unique, but we're far better than those other people."
"Oh, I guess I'm bringing you on the wrong way, cousin," Sirius laughed and rolled his eyes" "I'm surprised our family didn't warn you about me. I'm a rebel, after all, and a bad influence. You'd better be careful or you'll become an outcast. Maybe we are doomed to be social rejects because of the way we were born."
"Maybe we should just start a club!" she laughed, the light in her eyes growing. "Club of the outsiders, or something like that. I bet if we just talk to enough people there has to be two or three students who are tired of the whole pureblood nonsense. It is very tiresome, you know. Having to follow all these traditions... We could just be us!"
"You know what Cissy? I didn't think that you can have that awesome idea" Sirius laughed with sympathy "We will do a comfort and safe place on Hogwarts for everybody who didn't agree with pureblood ideology, everybody who's like you and me, everybody who's different, everybody who need this." he said with entuzjazm "I heard rummors that on 7'th floor is the secret room which apear when you need this. If it's true, we can do our club there"
Narcissa clapped her hands together. "Oh, I would love that!" she declared. "But how will we keep it a secret?" she asked, frowning. "No-one would approve of this kind of place, as much as I hate to admit it. They would be offended, and then it's only a matter of time before they tell the headmaster."
"You know me Cissy, I'm not a type a rulefollower but I think that we should talk with Dumbledore, I have a feeling that he is like we and he'll give us the premission"
Narcissa's eyes widened. She was a rule-follower through and through. "You want to tell Dumbledore about us?" she asked. "This is... A good idea. He might actually be the only one here who is accepting of... Our differences. And not only that, but who else would allow us to build a place for ourselves here?"
"I think Dumbledore will understand this most of all teachers. He is very accepting and cares about the well-being of the students, or at least he seems to be. No matter what his reasons are, he will surely give us permission.
The Slytherin prefect thought about this for a moment, before nodding firmly. "The headmaster it is, then!" She said decisively. "That is a great idea."
"As you see dear cousin, I can have awesome idea too" Sirius smiled "We will go to Dumbledore tomorow morning before the leasing, do you into this?"
"Yes! Yes!" Narcissa clapped her hands with enthusiasm. "Tomorrow morning! And we will have to talk to him alone" she said, almost as an order. "I don't trust any of the other professors around here. Only the headmaster will truly keep our secret."
"Of course, only the headmaster and no other professor will know," Sirius agreed. "Now I have to get back to my friends before they realize I'm gone."
"So go ahead, I don't have time either. I have important prefect things to do." Narcissa rolled her eyes "See you later, right?"
"Yes, see you tomorrow morning in the same room" Sirius confirmed
"So we have an appointment" Narcissa nodded and smiled slightly at Sirius
"And these important prefect things are meeting your secret girlfriend?" he asked with a slightly mean smile
"Shut up, Sirius," she snapped and gave him a murderous glare
"Okay, okay, I'm not saying anything anymore. I'm as quiet as that mouse under a broom" Sirius put his hands up in surrender and walked away to his side
