John took a breath, one of his last, more than likely, as he glanced around his stable. An unfinished table he was planning to fix and gift to his wife stared back at him, taunting him. Abigail. Jack. Boy are they going to have a mess to clean....
The noise outside stopped. These marshall's. These "protectors" of the law. What exactly are they protecting the country from? Me and my farm of rocks?
The noise returned, claiming that he could go down quietly. Him, going through a due process? Javier was right, there are some things where a bullet is preferable.
Not that it matters anymore. Philosophical discussions were never my thing, and I'm not going to let myself be trapped in my own thoughts. My time has passed.
