Last sentence of book 7 (not counting the epilogue, obviously)
Â
The weeks after the war went by in a blur. Harry moved into Godric's Hollow and tried to forget about the war and everything that had happened.
On his birthday, he received a letter from Professor McGonagall.
To: Mr Harry Potter
Oh right I need to find the address.
Godric's Hollow
Blah de blah
Dear Mr Potter,Â
We are [Here McGonagall had added the word 'very'] pleased to inform you have been invited back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to complete your N.E.W.T.s.
Because of all the disruptions you have suffered last year ['Which we are very grateful you helped stop'], we have done our best to create extra accommodations for all students who missed their seventh year.
You may stay in your houses and will therefore be placed back into your dorms, but you may also get an individual room [where the ROR is].
Please owl us back with your lodging preferences as soon as possible.
The list of requirements is attached herewith, you should already have most everything as it has not changed since last year.
Yours Sincerely,Â
M McGonagall
Professor McGonagall
P.S. While we would [greatly] appreciate your return to our school, it is not mandatory if you are of age.
Harry owled Dean, Seamus, Neville and Ron to know if they were coming.
All of them replied that they were back, and would love to keep sharing a dorm.
It wasn't even a question when it came to Hermione.
Ginny and Luna had to come back, as they hadn't done 7th year yet.
As to everyone else, especially the Slytherins, it would be a surprise of who came back to Hogwarts or not.
Harry was therefore very surprised in the Great Hall when he caught sight of Draco's white-blond hair next to Pansy's black bob and someone with a curly afro striped with green, and Goyle's shaved head behind them talking to Nott, whose chin length hair hadn't changed.
"Blaise let his hair grow out?!" Ron asked, shocked.
Hermione turned to look as well.
"Ooh, that looks much better than when he shaved it all the time. And Pansy's make-up is… wow."
Harry caught a glimpse of Pansy's make-up. She had gorgeous snakes curling up from her eyes, and another around her lips.
"Hey, it looks like they all came back?" Harry observed.
"And they all got a glow up?" Ron wondered.
Ron hadn't really changed. He still had his hair relatively short, and hadn't suddenly decided to wear make-up or anything.Â
Hermione had gotten a haircut, so her curls that were once just past her shoulders were now chin-length.Â
She looks nice, Harry found himself thinking.
Harry himself hadn't changed as far as he knew. He had grown a little, but he was still shorter than Hermione. His hair had actually grown a fair amount, but Harry hadn't noticed that in the slightest.
He didn't know how to feel about the Slytherins being back.Â
On the one hand, they had been awful to Harry over the years. On the other hand, Draco had been forced to join Voldemort to save his parents, and Narcissa had turned against Voldemort to find Draco and saved the wizarding world in the process. Blaise and Theo had always been rather detached from Draco's mocking and Goyle– no, Gregory, just seemed to follow Draco around.
So Harry was mostly uneasy about Pansy.
Eh, if the others can change, I guess I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.
