The beginning
Harry spotted Draco Malfoy talking to some younger Slytherins he didn't recognize, exiting a classroom.
"Hey, Malfoy!"
Draco warily looked up.
"What do you want, Potter?"
"Don't you want to say hi to your crush, Dray?"
"...Crush?" Draco repeated. "For that matter, Dray ??"
"You love me, don't you?"
Harry had no idea what he was doing, but the Slytherin's blush was worth it.
"What?! Of course not! You're delusional!"
"Can't decide whether or not to ask me out? It's not a hard decision, you know."
"What the heck? Weasley, Granger, you might want to take him to Madam Pomfrey"
Ron and Hermione looked as if they wanted to agree with Malfoy, despite both hating him with a passion.
"Oh, yes, I'll ask her to help you admit you like me. While I'm there, should I ask for some sleeping pills for you?"
"I- I don't have trouble falling asleep?" Draco lied.
"Really? I heard that sleeping next to the person you like helps you sleep better and reduces depression. I figured that since you don't get to sleep next to me, your sleep must be terrible, and you must be depressed," Harry said, adding innocently, "Is that not the case?"
Draco widened his eyes, understanding dawning in his eyes.
Taking a couple steps towards Harry, he hissed "Stop flirting with me, Potter. You could end up in serious trouble."
"Oh? Are you planning on punishing me?" Harry looked his opponent up and down, suggestively.
"You're impossible," Draco spat out, and walked away, followed by his Slytherin friends.
Ron, Hermione and Harry watched them leave.
Once they were out of earshot, Ron rounded on his best friend.
"Are you mental ?? You were flirting with Draco Malfoy!"
"Did you see how flustered he got? If I'd insulted him, he would have just insulted me back, but he doesn't know how to respond to this!"
"Why would you insult him?" Hermione asked skeptically.
"Really?" Ron asked, "It's kind of a long list... In fact, if I recall correctly, you once got so mad at him you punched him."
"Ok, I can see why you would insult Malfoy, but Harry usually doesn't. I mean, he spent most of sixth year stalking him, but he didn't really insult him." Hermione pointed out, "Oh don't give me that look, I know he has insulted him, but it was always after he'd been provoked."
"Whatever. I think it's a brilliant idea, no matter what she says." Ron said, scowling slightly at Hermione.
"I didn't say it wasn't a good idea, I just wanted to know why Harry was the one starting the exchange for once."
"Oh"
Ron looked surprised that Hermione approved, or at least didn’t disapprove of their teasing Malfoy.
"Anyways, I want to see how long I can keep it up before he snaps, or before I run out of material, whichever comes first" Harry decided.

Two weeks later, Harry still had plenty of material and Draco still tried his absolute best to ignore him, whilst turning bright red every time. He hadn't yet snapped though, to Ron and Harry's amazement.
Hermione had stopped caring immediately, and the other students had decided that Harry and Draco would get together sooner or later and, instead of telling Harry to stop bothering Draco, or helping Draco avoid Harry, had placed bets as to how long it would be.
The general consensus was that they had a week max before getting together.
Two weeks and three days after Harry started flirting with Draco, the latter had finally had enough.
