Narcissus Flowers

“Alice.” A stern voice behind detective Alice Fortescue calls out. She turns around to see head of her department Minerva Mcgonagall. “Yes, McGonagall?” Alice responds. “Follow me, I need to brief you on a case.”

They walked down the hall and turned into the fourth door on the right. “Recently there’s been an increase of overdoses, torture, and odd deaths in general,” McGonagall, as always, is straight to business. “It even appears medieval torture methods are being used, particularly the rat method.” McGonagall adds. “Do you think it’s a serial killer?” Alice asks, trying to piece everything together. “No, I think it’s the Black mafia resurfacing, though it’s only a theory” She answers. “I thought Orian, Walpurga, and Cygnus went missing.” Alice says clearly confused. “Fortescue, they still have children. I suggest you start into said children.” “Yes ma’am.”

Alice nodded As Alice walks into the detective division she runs into Lily Evans. “Alice! I heard you got a new case.” Lily exclaims. “Yes I did, Evans.” “Can you disclose details? By the way McGonagall was acting it seemed interesting.” Lily asks. “I haven’t been told otherwise. She thinks it’s the Black family mafia.” “Oh my god, really?” “Really. I don’t know much about the case yet, just a quick briefing.” Alice sighs.

“Who knew doing research on a family with barely any information would be so hard.” Alice thought. It’s rather late, 12 a.m. maybe. She had stayed up all night trying to get a file on the Black family, well, more so the Black cousins. The whole family looks good in the eyes of the public, but if you knew them they were anything but good.

Giving up on information on the family, Alice analyzed the photos of their ‘alleged’ crime scenes. She knew in her gut that they did, but she doesn’t have enough solid evidence. She’ll see them in person around 8:40 a.m.

As Alice drifts to sleep she can’t help to smell narcissus flowers.
