The crime scene
It’s 8:48 when Alice gets to the recent crime scene. Cursing herself for being late, she flashes her badge and asks for the case report. Two overdoses, looks like a double suicide, but with her knowledge it’s not. “Fortescue, looks like we’re working together again.” “If it isn’t James Potter, where’s Lupin? Alice smiles. “Already collecting evidence.”
James Potter is a detective younger than Alice, he’s like a little brother to her. He has a tendency to jump to conclusions, Alice and him build off each other, reasoning his conclusions.
Remus Lupin is a forensic investigator, the same age as James and Lily. He works great with Lily. He’s the voice of reason when they all get tunnel visioned.
Lily Evans is a forensic scientist, the best in her field. She’s smart, if you get stuck on something, she’ll figure it out.
“There’s Lupin, give me the rundown, will you?” Alice winks, as Remus walks up to them towering over everyone. “Two dead, both male. There’s something carved into their neck, done recently. Done most likely by a slim fixed blade knife. C.O.D. was an overdose; M.E. said the drug was fentanyl.”
“I want anything you collected sent to Lily now, Remus.” Alice orders. As Alice walks closer to the body an officer stops her. “Excuse me, detective, I just wanted to say I admire your work.” The office has a slight French accent. “Oh, um, thank you.” Alice responds politely as she continues walking.
The carving is on the side of the victims’ necks in the shape of a narcissus flower. This might be the evidence to go from ‘allegedly’ to ‘definitely’ the Black family. Alice thought.

I have begun an analysis on the victims’ clothing, and have found no outsider’s DNA on the phones, wallets, and other personal objects.
The narcissus flower that was engraved into the victims was made by a rough rider slim fixed blade knife.
