A Fawn In The Past

Brooke Potter should’ve marched out of that room and said no. But she didn’t and now she’s in the past with the fate of the future world, her world, resting on her shoulders. The Quidditch Pitch

I followed the boys to the Quidditch Pitch realizing it would seem odd to them if I knew my way there. It was peacefully quiet, nothing like the walks Riddle, Malfoy, Nott, and I would take. There was always a conversation going or someone chasing the other.

I was startled out of my thoughts by Sirius wrapping an arm around me with a smirk, “Try not to swoon when I knock the blugder at James, alright?”

I raised an eyebrow smirking back, “Well I would, but theres really nothing to swoon at?”

Which yeah, was a bold faced lie as I could feel the weight of the well-muscled arm around me, but Sirius didn’t need to know that. I mean come on his head barely fits through the door as it is.

Sirius scoffed and place a hand on his chest, “You wound me, fair maiden!”

”Fair maiden?” I gasp, playing along, “Why, I am a princess to you peasant.”

Sirius grinned, “Oi! Prongsy, looks like you might have to give up the title of King, Brooke says she’s the royal one now.”

Remus and I shared a look of amusement at the irony, if James really was a king then that would make me a princess. It was weird that this was what Uncle Siri used to be like.

He may crack the occasional joke where I’m from, but nothing like this. They were two completely different people. I wasn’t sure what to think of Sirius as really, I mean Sirius in the future avoids me a lot. He’s closer to Harry. Anytime he looks at me there’s pain in his eyes.

I would say it’s because I remind him of Dad to much, but he praises Harry for it. I really didn’t know what I did, but maybe I can fix it.

Once we arrived at the Quidditch Pitch, Remus and the rat went to sit in the stands leaving James, Sirius, and I.

I smirked, “Seeker Vs. Seeker?”

Sirius raised an eyebrow, “Uh Sweetheart, you sure you wanna try that? James is Captain and an amazing Seeker” he then pouts, “Plus that counts two players leaving me out…”

I pat him on the shoulder, “You get to referee hun, try not to get to distracted by me.”

James grins, “You’re on Fawn!”

“Rematch?” groaned a tired James.

I couldn’t help but giggle, “Nah I’m good I’ll take my victories.”

Sirius wolf whistled, “Seems there’s a new champ in town!”

I bow dramatically, “Yes you’re all nothing but dust beneath my feet.”

Sirius dryly replied, “Thank you for thinking so highly of us…”

”Of course!” I smile innocently.

James then wrapped an arm around me and ruffled my hair, “Well, I think little fawn has proven she’s more than capable of playing Quidditch! Kind of ironic considering your cousin Remmy can’t play.”

I beamed, happy to hear praise from a parent for the first time.

Sirius chuckled, “True.”

After showering in the girls room I was bunking in, I left to go to dinner. Based on the trunks, I was rooming with my mom, Mrs. Longbottom, and someone named Marlene.

It was strange to see Mrs. Longbottom, or Alice, so young and happy. I was used to her as she is at St. Mungos anytime Neville and I visit. She and Neville were very similar, although he got Franks shyness.

I’m hoping to be able to make friends with Virgo, but it might be strange because she’s Sirius sister. And right now I don’t think the like each other, at least to each others faces.

Every once in a while I’ll catch Sirius looking at he sadly, or glaring at a Slytherin guy wrapping an arm around her. He did the same thing with Regulus occasionally, but it wasn’t the same.

I thought about trying to mend their relationship so it’s not the awkward mess it is in the future. I really need to make a checklist of things to do.

~

That night I made a checklist and put it in my trunk.

Checklist:

• Beat Moldy-Voldy so I can return home

• Slip Poison in the Traitors Drink so he give up my parents locations

• Make Friends With Virgo & Aunt Cissy

• Make friends with Regulus and tell him I’m from the future, which will be easy considering I have the necklace Mattheo/Virgo gave me

• Become good friends with my mother, and maybe eventually tell her

• Make sure Alice and Frank don’t go crazy

• Do something about the dumb old door

Of course I had to be careful on the last one not to write Dumbledore, because the past is full of people loyal to the end.
