Chapter12
Harry prepared a stew with muffins for their evening meal it was quick and easy, and something that could be left in the oven even when cooked until they were ready to eat. Once they were all changed and had finished their meal the Doctor asked Donna to excuse the Master and him while they talked to their son.
"Put your wards up Arbitrator as well as a full silencing shield." The Doctor told Harry as soon as they all entered Harrys room. Harry did as he was asked then went and sat down on the single seat in his own living area leaving another single chair and a two-seater sofa free. Harry wanted to smile when both his dad and Pere took the sofa together and sat close to each other, he hoped this was good news.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" Harry asked both the Master and the Doctor.
"Actually a few things, what Lucius said, the fact that we do hide our true names other than from each other, very few people know me as Theta only the other Time Lords tot during the academy called me that I have been the Doctor for so long now, also, the fact that very few species knew about Gallifrey, the Pyrovilla didn't get involved in the Time War however neither were they affected by it. How did they know we were from there, all the searers must have been able to read minds, anyone affected must have a Pyrovilla infecting them, that girl will probably have to lose her forearm and hand as you said. But the other things he said, you can see all possible timelines just like we can, but you can look into someone mind easier than even us, did you get anything off them?" The Doctor explained then asked Harry hoping he knew more.
"No but I didn't try reading their minds you know I can do it, and I know you two can but with my shields up I don't ever use it to really read a mind, only surface scanning I must push the thought out a bit like you two or if I want to read their minds deeper than surface thoughts I have to lower my occlumency shields, I really only use it passively normally with my shields I have to keep them up and high unless I'm on my own, it helps control the timelines as you know, making them easier for me to follow them, it is a must because of me seeing so many outcomes compared to you two." Harry explained back to them both.
"What's concerning me are the bit about she's returning and Donna having something on her back, I've scanned her through every frequency the TARDIS has but there is nothing there." The Doctor explained next to both Harry and the Master.
"You said you had met the very original High Priestess, was she a seer? Did her prophecies always come true?" The Master asked the Doctor looking at him.
"Yes, her prophecies or visions always came to pass not like was happening there and they weren't turning into stone either." The Doctor explained to them both.
"So could the Pyrovilla use the seer’s ability to look into the future, to give statements that will confuse us until they make sense?" The Master asked next to the Doctor.
"If they were true seers then yes, they certainly would have been able to use the High Priestess' ability, they didn't know what a volcano was because it wasn't a word invented and wouldn't be until after the Ash settles from Pompeii. But as they didn't intend to set it off only utilise its energy. The Pyrovilla could have had their own language for all we know and they didn’t have such a word in their vocabulary as they seemed to use the heat of volcanoes for them to live or it just translated for us naturally, like the Latin did when we arrived. There really is only Donna who needs to use the TARDIS translation matrix." The Doctor answered after giving it some thought.
"I noticed on Procule that one word was changed from what I was saying into their own language, it was done at the same time by both the TARDIS and SATURN one in English one in Unspeakable. It was only the one word since I became a Magical Time Lord properly." Harry explained to the statement the Doctor has just made.
"That is strange, maybe you need to grow more into understanding all languages we never left Gallifrey as tot's and so only spoke Gallifreyan. It's when we go out into space that we realise we can speak in any language, you know yourself you read about the Time War and that was written in Gallifreyan." The Doctor answered again, with what the Doctor thought was a probable answer.
“No something else is going on, I can read Gallifreyan and I can speak it even, but we are all forgetting. I didn’t grow up on Gallifrey I was born and brought up on Earth in a different mainline universe, yet he said we were all from there which we know is not true it was just a shock he knew of our original home planet. Also you are forgetting that you have both learnt and use occlumency the same as me now to shield your minds they couldn’t read our minds so how did they get those statements they made at us even if volcano was not a word in their language, however Donna told Evelyn what would happen and she contacted the Sisterhood I noticed in one timeline when we left them together before we met up with Quintus, also as you said Pyrovilla didn’t get involved in the Time War yet they knew where two of you came from but not me, yet we know prophecies and seer abilities are not as they even seem there was a prophecy about me as you know in my old universe…. The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches. Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies. And the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not. And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives. The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies…. But first off dad didn’t meet the nut job and I wasn’t born to James and mum but James did blood adopt me into that family, I was marked that is true they had also according to that Saruman knock off defied him three times, I have power he knows not but what is that power? Is it my ability to use True Magic, was it the soul in my scar or was it the extra powers I now hold? Also, we changed my name when you both agreed to become my dads’, the only thing we can really do is follow the timelines!” Harry explained to them.
“So, the whole trip has been just so we could cause a volcano to go off by the TARDIS, I knew she still didn’t like me a little, but this is getting ridiculous. You didn’t turn the navigator off did you Theta?” The Master explained then asked the Doctor annoyed.
“No, I piloted us for Rome as I said things really are not making any sense!” The Doctor replied to both the Master and Harry.
"Well forget about that as dad said it was a fixed point in Time and it remained one and as I said I gave you the passphrase because it was a test off DEATH if I could do it or not without having to use my extra powers as I said to HIM I wouldn’t use the powers I would have needed to kill off the Pyrovilla. HE gave me the option of doing it or not using my free will to decide you missed me gone from the bond for the microsecond HE pulled me to HIM because of everything going on and so I pushed the leaver to set that volcano off and as I said then there could be others out there and that is now my responsibility we agreed! What I want to know more than anything after the afternoon we have had is did the two of you talk to each other and look through each other's memories while you were gone at least?" Harry explained about the volcano to the two of them and then asked about what he thought was more important to him and their relationship going forward.
"We did, first we talked and then we shared our memories so we could feel the thoughts, actions and emotions behind every memory we have, even the ones including you." The Doctor answered Harry with a wink when the Doctor mentioned about discussing Harry.
"Well, I hope you both had good thoughts about me at least." Harry replied with humour.
"No, even after everything today we decided between ourselves while getting changed to ground you for the next two months for allowing the TARDIS to go to Pompeii, on the day before it blew up." The Doctor answered with a straight face. Harry jumped out of his chair and onto his feet at hearing that off the Doctor.
"What! How's that my fault? You were piloting! You said you got it right just now and even today we were meant to be there to set off that volcano it was a fixed point in Time!" Harry demanded shouting. Both the Doctor and the Master burst out laughing at Harry after he had fished his rant and Harry just crossed him arms and pouted. Both the Master and the Doctor saw this and made a space between them interlinked their arms so Harry could sit between them and get a hug off both of who he considered to be his two dads. Harry was over between them in an instant.
"That wasn't funny, you know I would have done it if you were serious." Harry told them not impressed at all.
"Sorry, I just wanted to see you pout, it's funny that you are always reminding us of the fact you're an adult, for you to then pout like the near eight and a half year old you look who’s just been told he’s lost his pocket money and sweet allowance for the week." The Doctor explained while still chuckling along with the Master who used his spare hand to tickle Harry on his side making him wriggle about inbetween them.
"Still not funny I thought you were serious then! And dad stop ticking me I'm being grumpy here not trying to laugh" Harry Grumbled still at both the Master and the Doctor while crossing his arms as the Master continued to tickle him then stopped and both of them chuckled again.
"Anyway, even after the other discussion we’ve just had, we wanted to talk to you about moving forwards." The Master explained while squeezing Harry closer to himself this time instead of tickling Harry.
"What do you mean?" Harry asked the Master and Doctor confused looking from his right to his left.
"You dad and I are back to being friend’s again, best friends actually, like we were when we were tots and we want to see if there is more to it than just that, but we don't want it to affect you." The Doctor explained gently to Harry.
"What do you mean affect me, I am ecstatic with how things are going I call you Pere and dad just like DEATH told me I would get two dads to look after me that would love me and I have." Harry explained to them both while grabbing their free hands and holding them between his two hands.
"We mean what if it doesn't work out?" The Master explained quietly.
"Do you two love each other? I'm not asking if you're in love just do you love each other?" Harry asked both the Master and the Doctor again looking at them this time to make sure they knew he was seriously asking them about their love for one another.
"We have done since we were small tots younger than you are even, but for me though it was the drums for Theta it was seeing me burn, we're scared it will go back to that." The Master admitted with shame in his voice squeezing Harry hand with his own that Harry was still holding onto.
"But if you initiated a physic link and went through your whole lives then Pere has seen, heard and felt the drums in you dad, he also knows they are gone now and that makes you Koschei again to him. Pere has only ever tried to stop you creating war and causing destruction and chaos, now you don't want that anymore you want to go back to seeing all the stars you said you would when you were younger, with the block I have around the drums you are back to being Koschei again dad. You to Pere are back to being Theta and you both agreed to make new watches as backups, you have a friendship older than the civilisation of Earth between you humans have only been around as a civilisation for roughly six thousand years you two are older than thirty thousand years. But you do both love each other. If it is only platonic love, then I still get my two dads who love me unconditionally and I love them the same out of the deal, so what does that matter? I’m calling you dad and Pere now and you don’t mind that because that is what you are to me not only according to our bonds but also DEATH told me I would get two dads and that it was you two are! When HE pulled me to HIM after The Library incident, HE told me that you were both my dads’ now and I don’t think either of you want to argue with HIM! I said yesterday HE told me I would get two dads to love me and I have…. If you're both serious about a proper relationship of love though then you have to put you all into it, you can't stop at the first hurdle…. If after a while, you both feel it's not working out then go back to your platonic relationship, all this would do is move you closer together. However, you must find time each day to talk to each other, or at least swap your thoughts and emotions on the day so you both know how the other feels or create a permanent bond between the two of you so that you both know how you are feeling thinking and what emotions you have at the time all the time." Harry explained to them about still getting his two dads that DEATH had told him he would get then Harry spoke to them about how they could help their relationship prosper.
"Muklo Adult Time Lords only have a permanent bond to their significant other and any children they loom. Once a bond is permanently formed in two adults it's like saying I will be your and only yours for the rest of our lives. We could never take someone else as a partner the bond wouldn't allow it." The Master explained gently to Harry.
"And you two, don’t think you're at that stage yet?" Harry asked looking at each of them individually as he talked so they knew he wanted both of them to answer.
"Not only that Muklo it's like getting married, if we were still on Gallifrey there would be a massive celebration throughout our society as it meant that soon a new tot would be loomed, it would have been even more special the day you were born if you were Theta's and mine biologically because that would mean our own family was growing and joining together." The Master explained though on his own for the both of them.
"Well, we know when my birthday is you can work it out in what it would have been if I was loomed on Gallifrey and we can celebrate that day instead as I said you are both my dads, Pere didn’t need to loom me, yet it is as though he really did he can give me orders I have to follow even if he can change his mind on them, he treats me as his son and he has as much love for me as you do dad just as I love you both equally the same! I know I was upset this morning but as Pere pointed out parents and children do occasionally argue and that is what it was at the end of the day an argument over not properly communicating and me hiding things from you because I didn’t know how to tell you the truth. As you both know I didn't get anything for my birthday until I went to Hogwarts and that was a manipulation off the Saruman knock off to try and make me feel the Magical world was such a wonderful place and worth sacrificing myself for it. Then I got nothing after my sixth year at Hogwarts first of all because I had to hunt down the rest of Riddles soul shards and then because of me going into the Real Unspeakables living quarters full time and they treated me as an adult and no one else knew where I was. Also you two don't need to create a permanent bond between yourselves yet, you have time to decide if that is what you both want and then we can have a big celebration, collecting everyone you know well to attend it if you want, it might not be able to be held on your original home planet but we do have another planet we could all call home and even though dad grumbles about them he spends as much time as both you and I do Pere there, the one we've just left and the people you know the most are all living there, I know dad doesn’t really have any people from Earth that he considers friends but he does have Sirius who respects him a lot that we could hold the celebration in front of or we can do it quietly just the three of us or even you two just telling me that you have decided you have been together long enough now you are ready to commit permanently to each other and just the two of you creating the bond on your own in private or even with me there as your son to support you both." Harry explained all the different things the Master and Doctor could do over a bond between them both if that is what they wanted down the road if they weren't ready for one now.
"I've asked before I'll ask again aren't we mean to be the parents and you the tot?" The Doctor asked Harry in a serious manner but smiling at him.
"And as I pointed out if I wait for you two to do something about it your bond would be useless by the time you both get your act together…. And no! That wasn't a suggestion for you to do it now but eventually you can if you want. You both have still got plenty of time to decide to do that if you don’t want to do it now. Plus, you both can order me to do something if I'm in trouble for something I’ve done or you're upset with me it’s just as we know Pere can change his mind, but I still have to comply, with dad there is no choice I have to do whatever he orders me to do and he can’t change his mind once given I have to comply but as you know the one time I have been in trouble with you both you didn’t have to order me to do anything yes I argued with you over it but we were new to having a parent and son relationship and I had always had to act grown up and look after myself it’s actually nice now having two dads who love me and will look after me even lie for me and I know I could get in trouble off you at times I'm trying to do better at letting you be proper parents to me and you are also taking my feeling into consideration now more and you have even given me a phrase to use to say I know more about the situation and so I take over all other times I am your son and have to do as you two tell me. So really, it’s more you two that need to focus on what you want together! As you said dad you have loved each other since you were tots yourselves even younger than me, I’ve seen both of you timelines all of them from you being born to now as well as seeing Pere’s if dad and I were not in your life Pere, and I constantly feel both of your emotions for me and those are ones of true love the same amount of love I hold for the both of you as I said we are a family and that is what I was promised and what I got and I do as I’m told by you both unless it falls under my extra powers as I said it took time to learn that if I wanted to be your son I had to do as a child would do, if told to by one of their parents, but between the three of us we have got to the stage where you both are my parents and I am you son who is still a tot who has a lot to learn and you are teaching me that, you still are both my dads’, If it wasn’t for the human DNA everyone would see I am your son jointly and like any decent son, parent relationship I do as I’m told off you both now or at least I'm trying to." Harry started speaking with dry humour but that turned to genuine consideration as Harry explained about the relationship they had now that Harry acknowledged they were his parents and he had to do as he was told unless it was under his jurisdiction.
"I know you are Muklo, we are both so proud of you and I feel as if you are our son jointly I know your dad has known you were his from the first time he saw you again in Sirius’ kitchen when we found out all about you and after a few false starts we have got a real parent son relationship going between the three of us. Many people who are as old as you even if you're young in looks, think they can never be wrong, but that's just not true, even we can be wrong or not know something at our ages just like yesterday and today. Never mind you son." The Doctor replied gently agreeing with Harry.
"So where does the future take you two now, are you going to try dating having alone time to yourselves while I work on my TARDIS engineering course. At least Donna only see's you both a friends, not dating material. Actually, she thinks you are both brilliant. She introduces me as though I'm both your son's which I am as I said it’s just Pere didn’t donate his DNA to loom me, when we met her mother and she had to hide the fact we were traveling in space, I played it off that I lived with my mother until she died, and I've been with you two ever since and Donna backed me up, calling you two my dads’. Don't worry I told Donna’s mother you were both bisexual but were still my dad’s one biological one my step dad and that you were both over the moon to have me in your lives as no Time Lord has really bothered about their Chosen Mate I didn't think you two would mind and it is a good cover story for those we don’t want to know the truth but I want people to know you are my dads’ and we are a family of three." Harry explained to them.
"That's what you really want isn't it? You want both Koschei and me to be together, you keep pushing at that, but why? You know we both love you the same, don't you?" The Doctor gently asked Harry.
"Yes, I know you both love me Pere…. But it’s also what DEATH said would happen, I would find two dads to look over me and love me as I grew, before I met you, I thought it would be Jack and someone else after Sirius passed away, and knowing Jack as I do, he would have kept me with him to make sure I was alright until I was an adult of twenty. I was still confused over the human DNA though how would it be got rid of? DEATH didn't explain that to me at the time HE just said it would be removed and I would become a full Magical Time Lord able to see Time in any universe just like HIM and that I would get two dads He even told me I should forgive you Pere as I had now seen you would give your life to save mine and HE was right you were prepared to yesterday to sacrifice yourself for me and I didn’t understand that until HE mentioned it but it took time to sink in. Remember DEATH can also see the timeline of every universe if HE wants to, I think HE looked through both yours and mine then HE told me what I wanted to hear the most the first time I met HIM. That I would get two dads to both love me and look after me as I grew when the time was right as I said the information is blocked form you. However, DEATH did tell me about all the good points that I had waiting for me that I would find as I moved into the future of my life and some of them have already come true.” Harry answered honestly.
"So you think because DEATH said you would get two dads that we will start dating?" The Master asked while looking over Harrys head at the Doctor in slight shock.
"No!... I knew I would get two dads and that's exactly what I got, as soon as you both stormed into the TARDIS with Donna that first time after the Adipose incident, I've seen you both as my dad’s it really is as though you two loomed me, but I became a Magical Time Lord tot instead of an ordinary Time Lord tot. As I said all creating a permanent bond between you both means is that you would feel each other as well as be able to send thoughts along the permanent bond that is created to each other and me as the bonds would all join together the one you both have to me would also be open to you just as the bond you had to each other would be open to me unless you blocked me from it if you wanted to talk privately and you could easily do that because of the age difference you will always be at least thirty thousand years older than me no matter what. Just like I knew then you were both really angry with me, it's why I didn't argue after you reduced the grounding Pere, I could feel the deep sadness, anger, frustration and fear combined coming across showing me even bigger hearts than I thought possible for someone I had only really been calling Pere for a few years. Like when I asked and explained about you becoming my second dad. By the time we got to that you loved me as deeply as dad did but it took time with you that love to grow but since then it has carried on growing just as dads has the more time you both spend with me and I knew there and then I was loved by the two of you equally and fully I just was upset over you getting worried over me altering the timeline on you and the fact that after you both explained to me that bond would be open to you all the time you never bothered to check it to see if I was alright two seconds and you both would have known that I was alright that is the main reason I argued I didn’t feel it was all my fault but after you reduced the grounding I immediate agreed to it as we have said I need to realise that you are both my dads’ and I am your son and still a tot no matter what my mental age is until I reach the physical age of twenty and even then I will still be treated as your child by both of you and I am really happy about that I want two parents to love me always, having that means everything to me knowing you will be with me for however long you wish to be and I know I now have a safety net so I can never lose you if anything major happens to you as you have promised to make chameleon arch watches and keep them updated so the most you would lose is the last week of your lives which we could fill in what had gone on to whoever needs it." Harry started off with the first word forcefully, but the rest Harry said gently to the two men he considered his dads.
"You both know if you want time alone you can just say, I can take myself off to see something else for a bit with SATURN whenever I want, or we can go to Floxum and you and dad can spend time there, I get on well with everyone there and they loved having us for the two years it’s the nicest planet I have ever seen and even though I have been all over it there were things there I would love to have another look at or play again and dad has a full suite for us all." Explained Harry to them trying to help them in their relationship moving it forward he could tell they both wanted to but were scared.
"No" Spoke both The Doctor and the Master with firmness and together while looking at Harry.
"You don't go anywhere without us two with you other than to Earth to Sirius a month from the last time you saw him, and we want to know when that was like you last saw him today so you will see him again a month from now unless you want to go sooner to talk to him in private but again we would want to know when that was. We would know where you are and we would feel better about that as we could get to you straight away and know when and where you were, you are still a tot to us its hard letting you out of our sight. It's meant to be hard enough to send your child to the academy when the time comes never mind having you go somewhere we don't know about to find you again so quickly. If you want time to yourself though we would rather you search the TARDIS first there has to be miles of interior I know nothing about that you can look through." The Doctor spoke rather forcefully at the beginning but then he finished explaining in a normal voice but there was a slight undercurrent there and it was obvious that the Doctor did not want Harry away from the Master or him. Harry could feel his dad agreeing with his Pere through the bond they had to him.
"I enjoy spending my time with you two Pere, but if you want time alone then I will defiantly explore the TARDIS, you might get a new control room before you think though, if I can finish redesigning the control room I’m working on, I’ve got one in mind that is nearly finished, it has to be better than using a sieve so we are having a new one no arguing Pere if I can finish it Pere were changing it!" Harry explained to the Doctor.
"The console unit work perfectly leave her alone for now, finish your TARDIS engineering course and you'll understand why it's there and why it works with it there!" The Doctor responded indignantly about the console unit to Harry.
"Pere that will take me over another hundred and fifty years if not longer, as I don’t spend all my time doing it now since you told me I couldn’t I had to do the practical side of the academy course if I was no longer doing the lessons studying them and that it would all be practical with you explaining things to me and me asking you questions if I don’t know something so you can explain it to me you also said I was spending too much time in the TARDIS on my own, when we had the Adipose problem the console unit had to provide me with a qwerty keyboard just so I could check the shield strength and then I got a holographic screen shoot from the roof that wasn't there before. She should be able to do that with the touch of a holographic keyboard and screen already prepared for use, it can still work fully and have character you have had many different ones over the years yet it only the original that was perfect for an ordinary TARDIS the one I’m designing is both futuristic as well as having character that you will love." Harry explained his reasoning for wanting to replace the control room and console unit to the Doctor.
"Just finish your course." The Doctor suggested to Harry but the Doctor did not make it an order.
"No leave you course and start searching this place and finish the design for a proper control room and console unit for us Muklo, that one’s stuck together with duct tape, it was no wonder It was easy to turn her into a paradox machine, her console unit isn't up to full speck. With a proper console unit that shouldn't have happened, you both know how sorry and guilty I feel for trying it as you well know. I’m still not sure if the TARDIS likes me, but the drums told me it would work and it did. Yet clear minded I realised it shouldn't have." The Master responded straight after the Doctor did and even though it looked like he was talking to Harry he was really having a go at the Doctor and both the Doctor and Harry knew he was.
"daaaaad…. You just don't like him driving, even doing it properly Pere still messes it up no wonder he landed fifty years out of date!" Harry got out before The Doctor could say anything, but the Doctor didn't disappoint.
"She goes though Time and space easily enough we get to where we are meant to, leave the poor girl alone, and don't change the control room unless it's definitely a full new design!... As I said you can look at the rest of the inside of her. You can finish the design you have in mind and show it to us both, then we can make alterations together the three of us and then implement them Muklo but not without all our input if we are a family as you keep saying then we should do things as a family this is one of those things this is our real home so I will allow you to finish your design and then we will all sit down and look at things we want to add or remove and then you can implement it you are really into the engineering course now and with a bit of help from the TARDIS you should be able to do it. You and Koschei are right to want to replace the console unit and as you pointed out it will take a long time for you to finish the engineering course that was unfair of me so finish your design and we will all look it over and do as I said altering things we want to or add things we think are missing or need taking out then implement it." The Doctor explained and then offered to Harry and Harry smirked at the end.
"Can I redesign the libraries, so all the information is in the right place as well Pere?" Harry asked the Doctor knowing what he would say but hoping for the best.
"No! You just want to get rid of the pool, I've told you it adds character, you can swim and read at the same time it’s perfect, relax in warm water and read." The Doctor told Harry and Harry pouted again knowing he wouldn’t get his way but still hoping Harry hated that pool in the library.
"He looks like you've just grounded him again!" the Master chuckled while telling the Doctor what he thought of Harrys facial features and when Harry looked up the Master was smirked at him.
"Dad, even you don't like the pool." Harry moaned to the Master.
"I don't mind it I go to the other library to read, even if the book is in the pool one." The Master smirked this time while explaining what he did while the Master looked at Harry.
"Are you the one that's been putting all the books back in the wrong place? Do you know how long it takes to search both libraries? No wonder it's never the same configuration at the same time, I thought it was the TARDIS, but never brought it up so you couldn't tell me I couldn't read what I wanted." Harry asked then explained the trouble he had with the libraries.
"Actually, that would have been the TARDIS, I knew you were using the library so I aways put them back from where I took them. Which means you've been reading stuff you really shouldn't yet." The Master explained while he looked at Harry with a look of you had better talk.
"It was only two books that were really hard to find…. The Last Great Time War and its chronicles, and the process of bringing life to a TARDIS, I think she was scared I was like you dad and looking to kill her or hurt her, I communicated with her about why I wanted the two books just the two times and the books were on the bookcase opposite the wall I was talking to. When I went back to continue reading, I found the Time War book on a large gold pedestal in the middle of the main library as though it has always been there, and the other book doesn’t actually explain how you do it, it just explains that the soul of the TARDIS brings a TARDIS to life." Harry explained to both the Master and the Doctor even though it was the Master who wanted the information Harry knew the Doctor did as well.
"The last great Time war book should have been on that gold pedestal son, I was upset when I found you reading that, it was only the TARDIS that didn't make me say anything, she said it was important and that I had to let you read it." The Doctor explained in answer to what Harry had said.
"You had both refused to tell me about the Time War, I had survived the first war with Riddle won the second one against him and been there during the third one when the Mundane humans went to war with each other in my old universe, I wondered why you were hiding just another war from me even if it did go through Time as well as space. I didn't realise the scale or the damage done until I read that, even if DEATH hadn't shown me when you found out about our connection this morning, the horrors released and used in that war was ripping the universe to shreds both in space and along the timeline it was killing planets over and over in more horrifying ways, I don't even want to know what that feels like to be burnt but I would bet it's like a cigarette type burn on the Deity TIME. SHE would have lashed out, SHE did, and SHE chose you Pere as HER instrument of choice, just like I am in a sense DEATHS instrument in all realities from now on. HE knew I cared to much for life it’s why HE has tried to make my life better for me, but HE is DEATH, HE is there though if I need HIM, you didn’t notice because of how quick it was but it’s why I knew the Pompeii volcano was started by me it was his first lesson to me could I kill what could amount to an entire civilisation and carry on living with the fact I have emotions to feel with, even only pushing a leaver, it will hit me what I have done later, I don't think DEATH would have minded if I didn't do it. HE has aways said free will over my extra powers, what is worrying me is HE always goes on about free will actually using the extra powers, it’s as if DEATH is getting me ready to actually use them." Harry explained to the Doctor but he knew the Master was listening as well.
“So that is why you suddenly vanished from the bond while in the escape pod? That was why I was angry when we got out of it and got back here before we ate.” The Master asked then explained to Harry the reason he was angry with him. Harry didn’t realise the Master would have felt it Harry was gone less than a microsecond.
“Yes DEATH brought me to HIM and told me I could take the responsibility for setting the volcano off without using my extra powers as HE said it was my free will to do it, then HE reminded me that it is always my free will to use my extra powers as I said it is as though HE is slowly working me up to using them making it so I’m less scared of them.” Harry Explained.
"Use them for what?" the Master asked while he looked at both Harry and the Doctor.
"That I don't know but it is looking more and more that the extra powers I hold will be used, it’s as I said as though DEATH is working me up to them as HE knows I don’t want to use them, as HE points out free will, I didn’t have to do it today, but I could as it was my right as the Arbitrator… Today though has been very strange as I said, also the timeline seems to be splitting for some reason into two, I see Pere dead, I don't see dad or me anywhere, yet Donna keeps popping up and I see Rose Tyler, but she is normal, if still looking young and always wearing the same clothing, the other timeline everything is fine nothing happens until the Earth vanishes, but we are stumped on how to find it never mind get it back, what’s stranger is we are there we feel it move it’s just us that don't, but no matter what we do we can no longer find Earth." Harry answered them.
"So, you think we should stay on Earth and be careful?" The Doctor asked Harry.
"No…. As I said the Earth moves but the TARDIS doesn't, we need to be careful when on Earth that we don't stray far from the TARDIS, but I can't see the TARDIS letting her pilot go so you should keep in mental contact with her while we are on Earth Pere and for any reason we are told to return we do as she says, don't forget she can also see Time and all of its permutations, at the end of the day she is much more powerful than us three combined and I would imagine she sees more outcomes than all three of us see together even with as many as I do but she is made to be able to look through them herself." Harry explained to both the Doctor and the Master while Harry was still sitting in the middle of them holding one of their hands each.
"Okay, we'll do that then, you say the Earth moves, do you know how, I know you say we can't find it but how was it done?" The Master explained and then asked with conviction. The Master wouldn't let Harry out of his sight from now on until Harry could see all the timelines again not just two which both were worrying the way Harry had described them.
"That I don't know either…. The power to move a planet where a TARDIS can't find it? Whatever does that is big, powerful and technologically advanced. More advanced that those Pyrovilla. It would be interesting to see just how far their sight goes and if they could give us real answers but knowing what they are and are doing we couldn't believe them fully no matter what especially after I said about the fact that they could be so wrong about everything or as you said dad they gave statements that were intended to confuse up until they make sense in the future. We can't even cross back through our timeline to find out, we will be remembered by so many and if one of us just gave the thought what happens to Pompeii, then they could cause a massive paradox by trying to kill one of us, to stop it like they tried to do with Donna if we hadn’t got to her in time. We will just have to wait to see if they make sense, however they did give us a clue, the thing on Donna’s back which shook her up and the fact that she was returning if they were being truthful about that. " Harry explained.
"Then why did you say to save those people not Donna? She had been vocal enough while there to try and save them." The Doctor asked Harry confused looking down at him.
"Because she didn't have to, just a reminder of our conversation about life and death made you realise. You are the Doctor and you save people! You saved that family today Pere, one of the only few families that permanently lived there that actually survived Mount Vesuvius destroying Pompeii, do you know Quintus goes on to become a surgeon in Rome he is classed as a doctor, they set themselves up there then they give thanks every day to the Doctor and his blue box for saving them from death, it's not me they remember it's not dad it's you that they remember Pere. Not even Donna although all of us are on the alter plaque they light incense and say prayers to it for what you did for them today saving them as I said you inspired Quintus to do something meaningful with his life." Explained Harry to them both but mainly to the Doctor.
"Thank-you Muklo after a day like today I needed to know that. I did do some good in the end, it might not be a lot but for a Fixed Point in Time we saved people that shouldn't have been." The Doctor told Harry in real thanks the Doctor seemed to lose some of the weight he felt on his shoulders with what Harry had told him about the boy and them thanking the Doctor daily for saving them.
"It’s okay, it's the truth you saved a family today, yet I might have destroyed a civilisation, you saw me do it you saw I didn't hesitate after you told me how to do it, I just pushed the leaver. As I tried to tell you before we got blown out of the top of the mounting, DEATH gave me that responsibility and what did Agatha say to Donna "Death comes as the end... And justice is served?" Harry explained then asked to the Doctor.
"Your questions to her before had more meaning than we realised at the time, didn't it Muklo?" The Master Asked Harry with sudden understanding about their visit to the early nineteen hundreds with Agatha Christy.
"Yes, it is basically what DEATH tried to tell me in the inbetween when HE taught me about my extra powers and how to use them all giving death to someone or a group of a species can be justice to some but also a mercy to others, HE hopes that I offer that to the whole of reality, by using the extra powers as both justice and mercy, I live in a universe and universes don't have justice or mercy in them, if you took a universe apart right down to its singular atoms you would find there is no justice or mercy there aren’t even Deities I don’t think for justice and mercy, there is only what we make out of life within a universe. Destroying those parasites today saved mankind it outweighed the billions of humans who will be born in the future it was both justice and mercy I did it quickly and I did it as painlessly as I could, that eruption will have killed them all in seconds, it did they didn’t even feel anything before they passed on to the afterlife after they died and if we return to the present we will find the Earth as we expect it would and should be. No matter what happened today that volcano had to erupt there was no getting around that it was a Fixed Point in Time but as I pointed out to you Pere, it doesn't mean you had to cause that volcano because you are no longer alone you have a family now to help you carry that burden, you've felt that burden was yours to carry for too long. I'm actually surprised I didn't appear in the middle of the Time War. If I had it wouldn't have been you to do it I would have actually used my extra powers for the first time ever to bring an end to the Time War, I wouldn't have allowed the Deity TIME to feel all that pain, DEATH wouldn't have allowed it if SHE hadn't said anything I don’t think, I have a gut feeling that I didn't get involved in the war because it was not mine to stop it was yours Pere, in a sense you could say the day you demanded to be made into a warrior, you entered a real prophecy of foretelling, the Deity TIME sees all and SHE decided you would do HER bidding in this universe. After reading the Time War, seeing it and knowing what the Time Lords as well as the daleks had unleased would have seen them all destroyed for good, I would have wiped them all out, well probably after borrowing a TARDIS. If I destroyed Gallifrey and its surrounding solar system to stop the war I would have wanted away from there to stop the timeline contamination that was happening at that point as well! You actually gave them a more peaceful solution to what I would have done. I truly believe even with all the children trapped in The Moment you were more compassionate than I would have been if it was left to me to end the Time War." Harry spoke the last quietly admitting he would have just wiped them out after seeing what they were doing.
"Perhaps that's why you didn't, don't forget before we met you, you still couldn't see Time, that would make them class you as a lesser species to Time Lords or maybe they would have been thankful that you could help them and accepted all those you tried to save if you gave them the help they needed to end the Time War, if you had appeared as you stated you could have destroyed both sides but the Time Lords would never allow that especially from someone who wasn't truly one of them. They may have decided to all attack you as a threat to them all." The Master explained after some thought.
"DEATH wouldn't have allowed that, or maybe that is why I didn't come in the middle of the Time War. It could also have been that DEATH didn't want one of my first acts after finding ordinary Time Lords and Ladies was to destroy them all on the planet and the planet itself instead of trying to gain sanctuary off them. Perhaps HE didn't want that pressure on my shoulders at such a young age, it could be why HE only allowed me to come to this universe and ensured it was after the Time War ended we just don’t know how any of them would have reacted, yet HE offered today for me to push a leaver if I wanted, which is why I didn’t use the extra powers I have available to me, but even then, over sixteen thousand humans as well as all of the Pirovilla I killed doing it." Harry explained his own thoughts out loud for both the Master and the Doctor to hear.
"But you didn't kill off whole specie's you only killed those that you had to, in order to turn it into a Fixed Point in Time. That mountain had to erupt as we’ve all said. You know the importance of Fixed Points in Time, that had to happen, even if you weren't with me, I would have set it off. So would your dad." The Doctor gently explained to Harry.
"I know, I'm just worried about the timing of it and the timelines I'm seeing." Harry admitted to both the Master and the Doctor.
"Then perhaps we need to leave the Earth for a bit, travel to different planets and different times just not near the Earth, it will give you time to come to terms with what you did today as well as the extra powers you hold and how you decide you use them, if you feel the need to now, as we said since we knew. We will support you in this you are our son and that is how we both feel no matter what we will still love you and be there to support you." The Master decided and then told Harry the Master and Doctor weren’t too worried about his extra powers even if he had to use them. Both the Master and the Doctor knew Harry had admitted to being well trained in the powers off DEATH he received. Both the Master and Doctor knew Harry could even kill down the timeline if he wanted but he said he would never do that unless it was to save the whole universe or family and when they all spoke about that Harry’s bond was radiating the truth to the Master and the Doctor.
“Let’s go and visit another world for a bit you two. There are loads we haven’t shown you, or you haven’t seen yet Muklo, we will all take each day as it comes, it’s all we can really do in the end.” The Doctor spoke to both the Master and Harry.
Getting nods of agreement off both the Master and Harry they all decided to rest overnight in the Time vortex before moving on to another world.
“Drop the wards and silencing shield son and Theta can go and tell Donna the plans, get some rest we will meet up in the kitchen in the morning and decide where we are going to go next, as your Pere said somewhere you haven’t seen yet somewhere that you will get to experience a new world and culture and it will also interest Donna wherever or whenever we take her she seems to enjoy.” The Master told both Harry and the Doctor.
Then both the Master and the Doctor gave Harry a kiss on his head and got up. Harry released the shield and dropped his wards then the Master and the Doctor left to sort things out. Harry decided to work on his design for the new control room and console unit as he wasn’t tired and didn’t need sleep this evening or tonight he hadn’t slept for a few days now actually, as a Magical Time Lord, his dads were right he did need a lot less sleep than he use to even if before he could see Time he didn’t need as much as a normal human he now only slept once a month unless he got really stressed out over something or run down, it was only half nine at night according to his watch, the Master, the Doctor and Harry all had their watches calibrated together, set to the exact second because of staying in the Time Vortex and going to different places, Times and planets they still needed to be able to work the time out, it took Harry until four o’clock in the morning to get his design right so that the new control room looked modern as well as looking classical but it was the console unit that was the hardest to re-design as he wanted it to be modern and state of the art as Harry had said with holographic interfaces the screens were see-through but also touch interactive and could be swung around there were three there for the three of them to use if all three were piloting and using the console unit together, Harry needed the TARDIS to help him with parts of his design which she did. After Harry had finished off his design for the new control room and console unit he decided that they could also do with rooms together like a family home in the bedroom section with a living room and separate bedrooms for each of them Harry had enough time left to organise and put it into the system the designs for a separate apartment on the bedroom section for that, by the time Harry had finished he now had designs for a new control room and console unit that was both state of the art according to the TARDIS and also the control room looked classy so the Doctor couldn’t complain, then Harry had his designs finished for their living quarters they would be in the middle of the bedroom section and you would enter through a door that opened into a living area that was state of the art and had three separate bedrooms one for each of them, there was also room in the living section of their mini apartment for things to be added the more Harry grew and the more they spent time in there. Harry just had enough time for a shower and to get changed before leaving his room for the kitchen. The Doctor was making pancakes for all four of them and so Harry sat at the table with a coffee, his own special coffee that he drank, the others would drink any coffee but Harry would only drink the coffee he liked then they waited for both Donna and the Master to trickle in as was normal, over breakfast they two older Time Lords went over places that they could go to and what each one was like after a decision was made the Master and Donna did the washing up and then they all went to the control room and console unit. The four of them were now ready for their next adventure as the Master set the navigator to where they were going first.
