Chapter 6

Harry bore his grounding with a mature attitude though, surprising both the Doctor and the Master, Harry wouldn't even leave the TARDIS when they were taking Donna to a different planet in a different time, after she had waved off her goodbye to her grandad. Harry only used four rooms for the week his punishment still lasted, one was his bedroom, the other the kitchen, the library and the study room he used for his lessons if he wasn't doing them in his bedroom.

Harry was shocked to see the Doctor coming into his room the last morning of his grounding, after he had shouted for whoever had knocked to enter, but the Doctor shocked him even more though when he said it was the last day of his grounding, so he was off restriction now and the Doctor handed Harry SATURN back and told Harry that he had full access back with the TARDIS. Harry thought his punishment would definitely last until the evening when it had been set from and he had agreed to it.

SATURN was soon back on his right forearm and catching up on everything she had missed, she was not happy Null had gotten himself grounded and told him she would have done the same if he hadn't handed her over, the TARDIS had said it was for his own good that he be without her, now he would take more care in what he was doing when she wasn't moving him around and he was using the TARDIS instead to travel in. Harry cheered up slowly over the next few days and soon he was getting to know Donna properly, she brought her whit and sarcasm with her as well as missing the obvious in somethings yet able to see into deeper things without problem, it was great interacting with her. She had managed to get information out of him quite easily. She wanted to know how he had ended back with both his parents and why they were separated and hid him in the first place, then she wanted to know which one was his actual parent and when Harry told her both he had to explain about being loomed, she wanted to know what it was like seeing all the different past and futures of Time itself, then how to understand, interpret and navigate the best outcome for what they wanted. They even got onto their names, he explained they all had names that they chose themselves when they became Time Lords as their own private names were sacred to each of them and only used in private between immediate family like parents and son, son and parents and partners.

Harry hadn't gone with them when they had gone to the Ood planet, but he had seen the Ood in the Doctors memories from when he had met them before when dealing with the so-called Devil. As he was sat in the study room that he used for his lessons that he would take at the academy as well as now working on the TARDIS engineering course, he was keeping an eye on the Masters and the Doctors timelines while he worked, they were trying to stop the way the Ood were being treated, they were treated like slaves by the company it went throughout four galaxies everyone using the Ood as slaves to work for them, Harry of course heard the sound of captivity and of wanting freedom, he had, had to pause his lesson just hearing that song it brought tears to his eyes it was so moving and devastating what had been done to them the removal of their telepathic voice the feelings behind the song were indescribable they were that saddening. The Doctor and the Master found out that the Ood should have had three parts to their brain and the Ood knew it they were missing a part of themselves and desperately wanted it back they were suffering from the lack of the third element to their mind the telepathic link that was being stopped and had been supressed for over two hundred years by the company that owned the Ood servant sales. However, when the song changed Harry was shocked out of his current state and a small smile spread across his face, the music had changed and now it was full of joy and happiness, the telepathic part of the brain being connected to its children properly for the first time in over two centuries. The music was so uplifting and happy all the Ood were now free and the call had gone throughout the four galaxies that they were sold in after everyone who owned an Ood had heard the song they had no choice but to return them to their home word and allow them to live in freedom again even if part of their brains had been removed for nothing but greed all the Ood out in the four galaxies would be welcomed back to the Ood planet to live in peace. Harry found himself waiting for the Doctor, the Master and Donna to come back to the TARDIS in the control room, he wanted to see their faces, the three of them had done something wonderful, an entire species was now free to sing the song of the universe while being able to communicate with each other still even if they didn't have a translation ball connected to them by the company that converted them into slaves, thanks to the three people he was waiting for.

"Arbitrator!" The Doctor and the Master both exclaimed which turned into a smile to match his when they saw him looking at them with utter love in his eyes.

"Sorry I was watching your timelines as you were visiting the Ood plant while I was doing my next lesson for the academy in the study room but had to stop what I was working on when you allowed Donna to hear the Ood's telepathic music from there I dropped my mind defences and listened to the music throughout your whole adventure and watched through your timelines still, you freed four galaxies from slavery the three of you." Harry replied with a small sweet smile on his face.

"We didn't mean to intrude son we didn't know you had heard the music from our telepathic connection to Donna sorry." The Master explained, the Master was worried it had upset Harry him hearing what they had.

"Dad, it doesn't matter! What you, Pere and Donna have done will sing for all Ood time. you three will never be forgotten as the ones who set them free the three people to give them back what they had been missing the most their telepathic connection, and you dad saving that scientist who was nearly killed by Mr. Alpen was very kind, he would have died if he had gone over that rail and fallen into the brain." Harry explained further he was still giving them his sweet smile.

"Come one then let's get a nice hot drink to warm up its snow everywhere out there. We'll tell you the whole story, well, Donna can from her point of view it's her first new galaxy planet this one and look what she helped accomplish!" The Doctor spoke in excitement.

"We were held at gun point! We nearly got skewered, then shot, then gassed. We nearly got killed when that group of red eyes decided to try and kill us! Then we were in the middle of a war zone, between the humans and Ood! Then Mr Alpen thought it would be a great idea to kill all three of us just as we were trying to release the telepathic brain! You said no trouble with a new companion, you said it was only one or two bad eggs in our travels and this simple let's just take a tour on our own instead ends up like this!" The Master snapped at the Doctor.

"Well at least we didn't have to run much right?!" The Doctor exclaimed turning it into a question.

"I think I'm going to sit in on our son's lessons for the rest of the week, you take Donna to another planet just make sure you return to us!" The Master grumbled at the Doctor. The Master was so glad Harry hadn't gone with them even though he had been invited.

"Come on son let's see where you've got up to in your lessons!" the Master said to Harry as he strode past the Doctor heading straight for him just so the Master could touch Harry and reassure himself that he was there. The Master was still unhappy at the Doctor.

"Dad calm down, I want to hear Donna tell me about what went on from her point of view not yours also I'm fine you know I am, I'm inside the TARDIS nothing will ever hurt me in here, SATURN and the TARDIS won't allow that to happen!" Harry was quiet only the Master and the Doctor heard but it did pull the wind out of the Masters sails, the Master just took another step and hugged Harry to him.

"Fine but let's go to the kitchen it's bloody cold on this planet. Donna will end up with the flu if we don't get her warmed up soon." The Master explained still hugging Harry.

"Come on Donna I'll make hot chocolate I want to hear what you thought and saw please?" Harry gave her very good puppy eyes and soon they were all sat around the kitchen discussing what had gone on. It was funny to think first Donna was married to the Doctor only then for them to think she was a personal assistant, and the two Time Lords were together which made the Doctor blush. Harry just burst out laughing at that, Harry had been told by the Master how squeamish the Doctor was about talking about sex as their society didn't have relationships like that normally Harry was a very special case not that the Master and Doctor knew that. Harry ended up cooking dinner while Donna carried on telling him everything she had seen and heard. They all four sat eating it and Donna was still talking about the experiences she had on this adventure and the Master and the Doctor were chipping things in here and there. Harry hadn't known but the Doctor hadn't piloted a course he had let the TARDIS decide. This sent the Master on a ten-minute rant that of course if the TARDIS picked the destination, then it would be to help out a problem or expose unacceptable behaviour being perpetrated somewhere. The Doctor's answer to that was, 'it was a good job he had then', which didn't help matters at all, Harry looked at Donna who was sat opposite him watching the two Time Lord's argue with each other, Harry just sent on a tight beam telepathic signal. 'See if Pere turns the navigator off, it sets dad off, look at them argue and they have loved each other since they were younger than me and I'm classed as the child!' Donna burst out laughing but it seemed to be at nothing, the Doctor and the Master both looked suspiciously at Harry over it, now the Master and Doctor had helped Harry refine his gifts, his telepathy had really come on. The two of them figured out he had said something to Donna but as it was mind to mind, they didn't know what had caused it. In the end Donna finished off her tale as well as what happened to Mr Alpen and him being turned into a natural Ood. Harry felt he got what he deserved and said so to them all even though he had seen it in the timeline the man was disgusting thinking that an entire species was meant to be nothing more than slaves just because they were peaceful as Harry pointed out they would have to be peaceful as they had to carry part of their brain around in their hands. Nobody actually argued with him on that matter, what had been done to the Ood was diabolical.

That night Harry had gone to his room feeling better about the extra course he was taking as it was now doubling the time he had to spend learning, so he hadn't been able to go on one of the Doctors more adventurous travels, he didn't know what he would have done if he had been there even that late at night he was still feeling disgusted at what Mr Alpen and his family had done to the Ood for the last two centuries the had taken a peaceful race and removed part of their brain then they stitched on a translator ball because the race was telepathic and didn't speak so they made them do so and had cut them off from their telepathic brain so that they became the perfect servants to the humans and only those few in the company knew about it and one of their top scientists was already trying to stop them doing it, a movement had started up to free the Ood as some people believed it was slavery and it was Harry was glad that some humans realised what was happening to the Ood and it was wrong and now the rest of humanity knew and were returning the Ood to their home planet, they might not be able to prosecute Mr. Alpen directly for what he and his family had done but Harry felt his transformation was a much better idea yet it still showed the compassion of the Ood even though he and his family had done this to them they would still look after him now he was one of them.

The rest of week passed quickly for Harry with the Master there to help him in his ordinary lessons, Harry thought it was just so his dad could keep his eyes on him as much as possible, but Harry kept to his TARDIS engineering course on his own. Harry felt that this was his punishment, and he wasn't going to cheat, he was going to pass this course on his own then help put the TARDIS back to how she should have been to show he really was sorry for upsetting the two men who he considered his parents if he expected them to be his parents then he had to let them be that. It had been so long since he had any type of parental figure that it was all new to him. Harry was so used to having to look after himself, but with both the Doctor and the Master there now being his dads' Harry couldn't do that he had to do as he was told and Harry would have to take the consequences on anything they thought he had done wrong and he would have to learn to accept those consequences as this is what he really wanted a set of dads' that would always put him first even if it meant grounding him. Harry knew it would more than likely take at least ten years to complete the course he was taking on his own along with the one hundred and ninety two years needed to learn everything there was to being a Time lord like he was doing but he accepted this as much as he accepted that the Master and the Doctor really did care and worry, they truly did love him. Both of them did.

The Doctor took Donna to another planet where they stayed for two weeks for a holiday and to relax and look around what the area they were in had to offer, but Harry only went with them for half the day the whole two weeks they was there, then he would return to the TARDIS and work on his engineering course. Both the Master and the Doctor had told Harry to study in the evenings only and to enjoy the planet with them but the Doctor and Master allowed Harry to do as he was doing, as both the Master and the Doctor knew Harry could be stubborn and if he was in the wrong, he worked to rectify it. Harry also needed the evenings for his regular studies now with his time so stretched but Harrys dad and Pere had claimed him as their own son. So, Harry would do this and do it without complaint. Harry wanted to be with them for as long as he could get. So, he carried on past his grounding and the holiday, he would carry on doing the course until he had completed it as that was the punishment laid down by the Doctor that he had to go through the whole TARDIS repair course and so that is what Harry would do.

There next trip after the two weeks holiday took them to an underground settlement that seemed to be at war where they had arrived was full of wires and was in a state with gun fire shots all around the area. They hadn't made it thirty feet from the TARDIS when they were surrounded by solders pointing guns at them, they had been ambushed from all sides. Donna, the Doctor and the Master all stopped where they were. Harry though whipped out his hand in a circle around from the front to the back and around to the front with his hand held out and formed a domed shield around them to block kinetic attacks.

The next five minutes were like a Mexican standoff, one member of the group that had captured them and were pointing guns at them kept asking if they were clean and demanding to see their hands and wrists and that was all he did he didn't even introduce himself or ask who they were he just demanded to see their hands and wrists while asking if they were clean, eventually all but Harry showed them their hands with their wrists uncovered, it got even worse when he found no scars on their hands. The group started herding them along the corridor that the four of them were originally going to walk along to see where they had landed. When they reached some sort of machine, things turned serious and deadly as soon as the group that had them at gun point stopped.

"There is no way any of us males are going to let you try and force up to put our hands and arm into one of those machines, they are Progenation machines, they would take our DNA and split it which would result in a person being grown and having information shoved into their heads. Donna would be okay because she is pure human, we are not we have no human DNA and it would overwhelm anyone you tried to grow from us!" The Master spoke with a commanding frigid voice. The Master thought that there was no way they were getting their hands on Time Lord DNA and especially not his sons.

"Then she will be processed and you three will be killed." One of the members of the teenage army told the Master it was the same male that had been demanding to see if they were clean and to show they their hands and wrists.

"I think you've worked out by now not only do your threats mean nothing to us that you don't realise the situation you are actually in. There will be no harvesting of any of us without consent!" Harry told the one who had spoken after throwing another shield around the four of them again. The clatter of gun fire quickly stopped as the bullets ricocheted off Harry's shield two or three of their own bullets hit their own solders, lucky not in any lethal areas. The soldiers not hit were keeping their guns pointed at the four, but the others were seeing to their own wounds.

"Now then, before you end up killing off everybody on your side!" Harry spoke giving who seemed to be the leader as he was the only one to speak so far, an unimpressed look at what had happened to the shot soldiers Harry carried on.

"Let me reiterate the Master's statement none of us males will be giving you a DNA sample, however considering we are trying to build relations with the first people we have just met since we arrived here and as it will not affect your equipment of the person grown, Donna may volunteer to offer her own DNA. But only if she agrees. Understood?" Harry explained then asked him but the last bit was said as an order Harry was not making the choice for Donna to donate her DNA it had to be up to her. Donna looked to the Master as he seemed to know more about the equipment than even the Doctor.

"What would happen if I did donate my DNA to this machine and how does it work?" Donna asked the Master.

"You basically place you hand and arm into that receptacle there the machine will take a sample of your blood and DNA, then in the tube next to it a person is grown from your DNA after the cells are separated out and recombined. the infusion of new blood and DNA would be very welcomed by them and even though it's your DNA, the person wouldn't recognise you as anything other than part of our party. They implement their own information into the brain as the person is grown giving them lessons on a multitude of things, but it only takes them seconds to learn all this as they are grown from a baby to an adult, they should be used for colonisation each colonist goes through the machine growing the new person to an adult and implementing them with information they will need to live but this looks like its set up for them to fight in a war for some reason and it holds true as they are all armed when they should be colonising this place. The decision is yours, but it will do nothing other than leave a mark on the back of your hand and you will feel a pinching sensation as the machine collects the needed blood and DNA from the back of your hand, it why they wanted to see our hands and wrists to begin with they have all probably come out of that machine normally it grows them into an adult so they can start on the job the information has assigned to them but as I said these seem to be set up for a war to be fought by teenagers!" The Master explained to Donna as much as he knew.

"Okay let's build some trust here yeah. I am willing to donate my DNA, as long as we get an agreement that no one will try to copy the males DNA. It could blow up all these machines that you have, that's why they are stopping you, they are trying to help. While donating my DNA perhaps if you agree the Arbitrator will heal those hurt through your own foolishness!" Donna told the same teenager that seemed to be in charge of the group that had taken them hostage.

"Why can't we put the males through the machine it will give us three more soldiers for our platoon and what was that shield that sprang up around you? Shields aren't that compact." The same one that told them they would die demanded he was a teenager and seemed to be in charge of this group as he still was the only one to speak. It was the Doctors who answered this time so looking at the lad who seemed to be in charge he tried to explain.

"We are not human like you, we are much older than any of us look not only that but our species can see the shifting of Time, to try to give that to a human their mind would snap they would go mad from it, they would literally burn up from the inside, we are born that way able to handle all the information we see through the different timelines constantly the person that would come out of the machine wouldn't be, the disaster they could do is unimaginable but the person who came out could literally burn out their minds and go on a mad rampage killing everyone in sight! You would never recover from it and whoever you are fighting would win!" The Doctor explained as he now knew what would happen all three of them did as they looked forward in Time almost instinctually, but the Master was adamant they were not getting their hand on their DNA in all the timelines.

"Okay that doesn't actually sound good, I suppose it's a good job you stopped us. But how did you stop us?" The same male teenager asked.

"Even though the Master is the same race as the Doctor I'm not exactly, I'm the next evolution in our race it gives me the ability to not only see Time and all its permutations but direct energy to create things like the shield I created to stop your bullets hitting us if you did open fire like you were stupid enough to do. As old fashioned as it sounds or as stupid, think of it a bit like Magic and all you can imagine having that available to you to do what you want along with the being able to see the past or the future and all the different permutations that could and will happen depending on the decisions made and that is basically what I am I am already over forty three years old even though I only look eight and a quarter. I had to grow into my powers over the forty three years I have been alive so far and I still need another one hundred and eighty seven years until I am a full adult with full control over my powers. Instantly giving superpowers to someone within a matter of seconds and making them physically older than even me without an explanation and training is a disaster wating to explode!" Harry patiently explained to the lad who all of them thought must be the one in charge.

"Right so you three are to be kept away from the machines if only for our own self-preservation, the lady though will give a DNA sample." The same male teenager spoke again.

"I think you mean that you would like her too, do not expect her to do it on your say so?" The Doctor spoke harshly. Not even needing to look behind him Harry could feel the anger starting to stir that he had seen and felt a few times off the Doctor. The Doctor would protect all three of them with his life if he had to his companions and new family were very precious to him especially as he had the Master back with him seeing all the stars as they had promised each other they would when they were young tots themselves also they had Harry to think about it was their responsibility to look after and keep him safe now and it was one they took on gladly Harry was the Masters biological son but as the Doctor had said before the Doctor felt like Harry was also his son.

"Errrr…Y…. Ye... Yes, that was exactly what I meant if she is prepared to, but my commanding officer might demand it anyway. He's over all in charge and while he will agree that we can't let you near the sequencers because of all the danger no such argument can be made for the lady." The same male spoke again but he was no longer sure of himself the Doctor had scared the one that was in charge the way the Doctor had spoken to him he could feel that the Doctor was starting to get angry with him making demands even if the teenager didn't know who the adult males were as there had been no introductions for either side.

"I'm prepared to offer my DNA but perhaps it should wait until we get to your main base, then your commanding officer who is overall in charge according to you, will be able to decide if he wants our help or not! If he doesn't then we will return to where you found us and leave!" Donna offered but it was rather forceful at the end.

"Agreed!" Four voices spoke, the Master the Doctor, Harry and the teenager in charge, surprisingly at the same time as well. Harry started to heal all those that had been hit by bullets and within a few minutes they were in the middle of the group of soldiers who were surrounding them with the leader in front of them all leading the way, he was taking them to the main compound Harry noticed Donna was preoccupied by looking at something on the walls and at the corridors and rooms leading off the main tunnel they were traveling down, Harry was busy checking the timelines in front of him to see how well they would be received while also watching what Donna was doing. So far it all looked eventually okay but there would be some strong words spoken while at the main compound and Harry would have to show he was a Magical Time Lord again. As they approached the main compound Harry refocused on what was going on now, glancing to his left then right, he could see that the Doctor and obviously the Master had looked as well seeing their stiff shoulders relax for the first time since they had been surrounded by the soldiers with guns pointed at them Harry knew the Doctor hated guns.

They were taken to a rather large room that was obviously set up as a main base of operations. The teenager in charge ordered the others in his group to keep the four of them surrounded but not held at gunpoint, not for the three males and Donna in the groups sake, but their own, he had to explain everything quickly to his commanding officer before he gave an order that could kill them all, the teenager who was in charge did not want anyone else dying if that shield was raised again, especially as this room had a lot more people in it. There seemed to be an undercurrent as the teenager explained everything to his commanding officer while pointing to the four in the middle and gesturing with his hands and arms. Eventually there seemed to be a consensus decided and the two with some others walked over to the four. Not many people knew but Time Lords had excellent hearing so finding out the name of the commander was easy from the conversation he had when he collected the others soldiers to join him commander Cobb made his way over to them with the same teenager but all he ever called him was soldier.

"So, you four just end up in one of the tunnels we're trying to gain control of? And it seems as though some of you are being awkward about giving us DNA samples so we can continue fighting and increasing our numbers. We must get our numbers up to fight the Hath over this planet we need to increase our platoons." Commander Cobb spoke angry to the four of them that were in the middle of the soldiers that were still surrounding Donna, the Doctor, the Master and Harry. Harry felt his hand squeezed by the Master to keep silent.

"We have already explained to the child, that if any three of us give you a DNA sample you are likely to lose the planet in the ensuing destruction and explosions. We can leave whenever we want it looks like you lot can't, so why don't you tell us what is going on and we will try to help, cause us any more problems or demanded anything of us, and we will crack this planet like it got hit by a meteor half the size of it. You will not be getting genetic samples of us other than off Donna's and that is her decision! She is the only one in our group who could do this without destroying everything in its path. Is that understood commander Cobb, or would you like it spelled out for you?" The Master demanded of the commander, the Master still felt that there was no way the Doctor, Harry or himself were giving DNA samples to others, at all.

"Are you threating me? Grab them!" Commander Cobb asked the Master then demanded of his troops. Suddenly the four of them were secure within Harry's shield with the ones surrounding them on the outside of it and the four of them under its protection again it was to block kinetic attacks as they only seemed to use old fashioned bullets from both hand held guns and machine guns, Harry noticed that the commander even had a revolver as a side arm one of the old fashioned rotating ones. The commander's eyes popped out at the shield. He hadn't believed the teenager in charge of capturing them.

"What part of our DNA is vastly different to yours did you not understand?" The Master demanded of commander Cobb.

"What is this?" Commander Cobb demanded right back.

"This is the metaphysical powers that our DNA contains to allow us to draw and use true Magical energy, but we are born with that and taught how to control it from a small child onwards plus it will take the Arbitrator another one hundred and eight seven years to grow into an adult he is already over forty three years old. Whereas you are grown humans in seconds from DNA samples if we gave you a sample of our DNA the person you grew would kill you all by accident within the first few seconds of taking a breath of air." The Master explained in a deadly serious voice everyone was looking at him even the Doctor looked ready to say something but let the Master play it out. Both the Master and the Doctor knew that from within the shield Harry could allow them all to get back to the TARDIS if he decided to in an emergency, he could hold that shield for hours as they made their way back to the TARDIS and then they could quickly leave. They were all safe for now at least and commander Cobb could be delt with at their leisure. The Master again spoke after letting the information be understood.

"Now then are you going to tell us what is going on here or would you prefer us to leave while you fight in a meaningless war commander? It makes no difference to us but we may be able to hep you if you would let us instead of just demanding things from us instead!" The Master asked, well more like demanded then explained in an annoyed voice. The commander didn't know what to do you could see he was not used to being given orders, he normally was the one doing that, and it was obvious he really did not like the situation he was now in.

"I will tell you what is happening while Clein takes the woman to have her DNA taken, and another soldier to help us create a new platoon." Commanded Cobb explained then he nodded to the teenager that had always been the one to talk to them to take Donna to have her DNA taken.

"Before we allow you to give life to someone else, I want to know what is going on!" The Doctor demanded this time. This really irked the commander, and all could see it.

"Back at the dawn of this planet, these ancient halls were carved from the earth. Our ancestors dreamt of a new beginning. A colony where human and Hath would work and live together." Commander Cobb explained to the four of them.

"So, what happened?" Harry asked commander Cobb.

"The dream died. Broken, along with the Hath's promises. They wanted it all for themselves. But those early pioneers, they fought back. They used the machines to produce soldiers instead of colonists and began this battle for survival." Commanded Cobb answered Harry with a fanatical undertone in his voice.

"There's nothing but earth outside, why's that? Why build everything underground?" The Master asked commander Cobb next.

"The surface is too dangerous." The young teenager called Clein that had grabbed them explained to the Master. They now knew his name after the commander had used it to tell him to take Donna to have another human soldier grown by her, there were another six machines in the room they were in and some of them were being used as they talked to create more soldiers for this war the humans were fighting with the Hath.

"Well then, why build all the windows like in here in the first place? And what does those numbers mean? I've seen them all over the place as we were led here by the group that surrounded us after we left out transport." Donna asked and explained next while pointing at the windows around the room they were in and the new numbers she had seen. There were all different ones throughout the tunnels they had travelled through six, zero one, two, zero, seven, one, seven was on the plaque in the room they were now in.

"They are the rites and symbols of our ancestors. The meaning's lost to us in time." Commander Cobb explained to the four of them.

"How long's this war gone on for?" The Doctor asked, the Doctor felt that something wasn't right.

"Longer than anyone can remember. Countless generations marked only by the dead. Now the woman will be processed we need new soldiers to create platoons, each one counts!" Commander Cobb told the four of them.

"It's okay Doctor they can take the DNA sample. While explaining what is going on here. There is something wrong with the all the numbers though try to find more out about them, will you?" Donna offered and asked gently and quietly to the three Time Lords, so Harry dropped his shield after he had looked to the Master for guidance and the Master had nodded his head at Harry. Donna was led off to one of the machines within the room, commander Cobb looked to the three males remaining.

"Only the tunnels and the inside of these chambers are safe to travel but the Hath have the other side of this place as their base. We are looking for the source that is said to have been released and contained by our ancestors at the start of the universe it will allow us to kill off all the Hath and allow us to start living again, instead of constantly fighting them." Commander Cobb explained, as they were moved over to a table that was a holographic interface showing the map of the complex. Donna re-joined them while a male that had come out of the machine was stripping and loading a machine gun he had been given while talking to the teenager Clein. The table showed the complex but not all of it, you could tell, there were pieces of it missing after a few minutes while the Master tried to find out more especially as to how the room they were in looked more like a theatre than a staging ground but was told that they were now fighting for their survival nothing more something they had to do for all of humanity, a few more minutes passed as the Doctor played with the setting on his screwdriver and the Master carried on asking questions that were really irritating commander Cobb. All he seemed determined to do was fight this war and win for the humans nothing more he seemed fanatical about winning the war for humanity, suddenly the missing pieces of the holographic image showed all the complex in its full entirety especially the large spire in the middle of the complex Harry looked at it and pulled SATURN up and got the exact same reading from her. Commander Cobb shouted for all his people to arm up and get ready to move out, they had found where the source was hidden. Within ten minutes the whole room they were in was full of soldiers getting ready to fight and make their way to the spire that was now showing up on the holographic map. In the chaos the Master, the Doctor, Harry and Donna slipped off out of the room following the map on SATURN to get them to the spire so they could find out what was going on themselves, they decided to disappear in all the chaos as they knew through the timeline that as soon as commander Cobb had his people organised he would have insisted that they be locked up so that they could not cause any problems for his side getting to the spire, the four of them were soon followed by the teenage male Donna had given life to.

They all quickly ran towards the most direct route they could find within the complex. Harry couldn't just take them there he needed to know where he was going to move them. Even SATURN couldn't take them there she was sentient and always ensured Harry arrived in a safe environment but that didn't mean she could pick and choose where she took Harry to on a blind destination and as he did not know what he was looking for he couldn't just transport them there by either apparition or teleportation.

It involved a lot of running, an awful lot actually, as they tried to bypass checkpoints set up by both the Hath and the humans firing at them Harry had to keep throwing shields up to protect them all every time a side tried to shoot them. They seemed to be slowly making progress and according to SATURN they were the nearest for the moment to the central complex. At one point laser beams had cut off a corridor they needed to go down the laser beams went the entire length crisscrossing to make it nearly impossible to pass. Harry grabbed everyone with his Magic before anyone could come up with a solution and moved the now five of them to the other end of the corridor via teleporting them there, they vanished form one area to fade into the opposite end from the feet up. Donna's DNA teenager had followed them and then caught up to them asking to help them, as he was unarmed, they had agreed.

"So, what is your name?" Harry asked the male teenager that had been born form Donna's DNA.

"I don't know that information wasn't given to me when all the information I needed was downloaded into me." The teenager told Harry looking at him as they all continued to run.

"Well, we can't just keep calling you Donna's DNA teenager so how about Dan instead D.A.N it also spells DNA which is where you came from so Dan Noble it is!" Harry told the teenager having thought of a name for him. they were still running towards the main complex while Harry was talking to the newly christened Dan.

"Do I get a say in naming the person I gave life to?" Donna asked Harry with her usual witty attitude.

"No! I can see in the timelines all the names you would come up with didn't really fit in with you DNA made teenager and Dan is just as good as any you would pick so Donna and Dan Nobel it is. It fits perfectly if you think about it!" Harry told Donna with the others listening in they were still having to run to get to where they were going.

"What do you mean all the names I would come up with didn't fit him he was born from a DNA ample in seconds!" Donna told Harry back sarcastically.

"And that is why he is being called Dan plus you have to admit it's a great name it can be lengthened to Daniel but also as both you and I said he was created from your DNA so Dan it is!" Harry told her as he carried on checking SATURN to make sure they were going in the right direction and the quickest one she could find for them all.

When they finally made it to the main complex, they had to break their way into it by pulling one of the grates away from the side and slide into the place properly only for all the Time Lords to realise it wasn't a complex but a spaceship with its fusion generators still going, now that it was landed the grate they had used to enter was open while it would be in flight it would be closed off to allow the fumes the fusion reactor would give off at being worked to move the ship through space and allow excess heat to escape. The five of them eventually manged to find the ships logs at a set of computer screens for the ship and the Doctor and the Master using their screwdrivers to access them started to read them with Harry also reading them at the screen the Master was using.

"First wave of Human / Hath co-colonisation of planet Messaline. Core subterranean deployment successful. Online and active. Phase one initiated. Construction drones deployed. Construction of sections, one A, one B, two A, two B, three C & three D complete. Phase one in progress. Construction drones active. Construction of sections, one C, one D, two C, two D, three A & one E complete." The Doctor read aloud to Donna and Dan as he was reading the information form the screen he was in front of.

"So, this is the original ship. What happened?" Donna asked the three reading the logs.

"Phase one, construction. They used robot drones to build the city that is what we have been running through and that room we were taken to was part of it." The Master explained to Donna and Dan.

"But does it mention the war?" Donna asked next. The Doctor and the Master scrolled down through Phase One at the same time.

"Construction of western quadrant complete. Phase two initiated. Commencing colonisation protocol zero point seven. Designated pioneer progenation in progress. Mission commander quarantined due to eruption of byzantine fever. Prognosis negative." Harry explained to Donna and Dan still reading the logs with the Master.

"Final entry. Mission commander dead. Still no agreement on who should assume leadership. Hath and humans have divided into factions…. That must be it, a power vacuum. The crew divided into two factions and turned on each other. Start using the progenation machines to make warriors instead of colonists to help out in setting up the colony as the Master first explained what they were for, then suddenly you've got two armies fighting a never-ending war." The Doctor explained next reading the information off the screen and then theorised what had gone on, The five of them then heard all the Hath and Humans that had followed them breaking into the ship so took off running yet again.

"Look at that." Shouted Donna seeing the numbers she had seen in all the tunnels and the room she had asked about them six, zero, one, two, zero, seven, two, four was on a display screen above them in red numbers showing the whole planet above that in a holographic format.

"It's like the numbers in the tunnels." Harry said looking at it too.

"No, no, no, no. Listen, I spent six months working as a temp in Hounslow Library, and I mastered the Dewey Decimal System in two days flat. I'm good with numbers. It's staring us in the face. It's the date. Assuming the first two numbers are some big space date. Then you've got year, month, day. It's the other way round, like it is in America!" Donna explained working it out as the Master the Doctor and Harry did.

"Oh! It's the New Byzantine Calendar!" The Doctor was the first one to exclaim in understanding which calendar was being used.

"The codes are completion dates for each section. They finish it, then they stamp the date of completion on the tunnel or room they were working on so they could work out what was finished and when. So, the numbers aren't counting down, they're going out from here, day by day, as the city got built. But you're still not getting it. The first number I saw back there, was sixty, twelve, zero, seven, seventeen. Well, look at the date today." Donna explained to the other four with her.

"Oh, seven, twenty four…. No?" The Doctor read aloud then spoke in shock at the end looking over to the Master and then at Harry.

"Seven days!" Harry spoke in sadness.

What do you mean, seven days?" Donna asked the three of them not understanding what they had worked out, the Master let out a long sigh.

"It has only been seven days since the crew became divided and war broke out." The Master explained to her gently.

"This war started seven days ago, just a week. A week?" Donna asked the three Time Lords as shocked as the Doctor had been her voice going louder as she spoke.

"They said years to me when I asked about it." Dan told them, he had spoken to Clein when he was ensuring Dan knew how to fight and use the machinegun, they had handed to him.

"No, commander Cobb said generations. And if they're all like you Dan and they're products of those machines then it is possible for thousands to have died in just seven days." Answered Harry putting it all together.

"They could have twenty to thirty generations in a day. Each generation gets killed in the war, passes on the legend. Oh, Donna Arbitrator, you're both geniuses." The Doctor explained and then the Doctor praised Donna and Harry with what they had worked out between them.

"But all the buildings, the encampments. They're in ruins!" Dan spoke again he had seen the room where he had been created in.

"No, they're not ruined. They're just empty. Waiting to be cleaned up so that they can be populated and used as they were meant to be like the Master said that room where we were all taken to, and Dan was created in is probably a theatre as he said it certainly looked like one if you cleared everything out that they had in there for the war effort…. Oh, they've mythologised their entire history. The Source must be part of that too. Come on." The Doctor explained to the four of them and soon the Doctor had them all running again. They heard the other two sides getting into the ship. Donna asked if they could smell flowers and the Doctor changed course running to a small forest and plant life, at the centre stood a round-sphere with complex colours shifting through it making it look like liquid gold and silver.

"What is it? It's beautiful, why is it in the middle of all this vegetation?" Dan asked to the others not knowing what it was, but he thought the ball of gold and silver light was stunning to look at.

"Because that's what it does. All this, only bigger. Much bigger! It's in a transit state. Producing all this must help keep it stable before they finally" The Doctor had to stop explaining what the terraform machine was for because suddenly they were surrounded by Hath and Humans with commander Cobb in the lead.

"Stop! Hold your fire!" The Doctor shouted to both sides holding out his hands in the halt position towards the Humans and Hath to stop them getting close to each other and starting a fight.

What is this? Some kind of trap?" Commander Cobb demanded of the four in the middle.

"You said you wanted this war over." The Doctor spoke to commander Cobb, actually looking at him.

"I want this war won." Commander Cobb told the Doctor just like he had kept telling the Master when he was trying to get more information out of him it was all he seemed interested in.

"You can't win…. No one can…. You don't even know why you're here…. Your whole history, it's just Chinese whispers…. Getting more distorted the more it's passed on it's only been a single week you have been creating soldiers by platoons daily." The Doctor explained to the two sides loudly, then pointing to the sphere that held the golden and silver light so all there could understand what he was about to explain.

"This is the Source…. This is what you're fighting over…. A device to rejuvenate a planet's ecosystem…. It's nothing mystical…. It's from a laboratory…. Not some creator…. It's a bubble of gases….. A cocktail of stuff for accelerated evolution…. Methane, hydrogen, ammonia, amino acids, proteins, nucleic acids…. It's used to make barren planets habitable…. Look around you…. It's not for killing…. It's for bringing life…. If you allow it…. It can lift you out of these dark tunnels and into the bright, bright sunlight…. No more fighting….. No more killing, you would be able to live again." The Doctor explained to both of the sides there that were fighting each other with compassion and understanding trying to get them to see that the war wasn't necessary. The Doctor picked up the sphere and lifted it above his head.

"I'm the Doctor…. And I say this war is over!" The Doctor shouted and as he spoke, he through the sphere on the floor and it smashed releasing all of its process.

"What does it mean?" Donna asked to the Master and the Doctor.

"It means a whole new world for these people the terraform machine has just been set off it will do its work and this planet will become lush green with a breathable atmosphere…. The terraform will unbury the complex as it works…. Making it stand above ground so now it can all be used to its full intended potential…. All those windows that were buried under soil will now be above ground and once they tidy up the mess they have caused through the war, they have been fighting for the last seven days, they will be able to properly start living instead of fighting." The Master explained with conviction and surprisingly compassion for what these people had gone through.

"No not with the Hath!" Commander Cobb told the five of them in the middle of the two groups with real hatred in his voice. He grabbed his side arm and was moving it from side to side, the Hath were behind the Master, the Doctor, Harry, Donna and Dan. Suddenly commander Cobb pulled the trigger from his side arm aiming it towards Donna and before anyone could do anything the bullet was released. Dan was nearest to Donna and did something so monumentally stupid and brave, that he could have been in Gryffindor. As the bullet was fired, Dan stepped in its path. Four screams of 'Dan' were shouted out as he crumbled to the ground the Master, the Doctor and Harry ran to him as Donna caught him in her arms then she gently lowered him to the ground, with the other three congregating around him as soon as they moved around the ten feet they needed to, to get to the two of them.

"Come on Dan, you can pull through." The Doctor said with desperation. Harry had pulled out his wand and was rapidly casting at Dan with both his hands using Linguistic Science and True Magic until he suddenly stopped. The other three looked at him, he shook his head as a single tear ran down from his right eye there was nothing he could do the bullet had nicked his heart there was a possibility he could help in a few of the timelines, but it wasn't the outcome they were hoping for, he had bled out through his heart to quickly and he had died. The Doctor went from devastated to angry in a second and everyone there could feel it, the commander had been restrained by his own men and was on his knees. The Doctor picked up the gun that had belonged to commander Cobb and pointed it at his head, the Doctor was actually shaking he was that angry. Suddenly the Doctor threw the gun away while bending down looking at the commander.

"I never would…. Have you got that?... I never would!... You never fight a war when peace can be made first and we had that peace that you have just nearly ruined that boy did nothing other than want to help the humans live instead of always fighting!" The Doctor said to all those there. He stood up again and addressed both fighting parties. Shouting out in anger.

"When you start this new world…. This world of Humans and Hath…. Remember that!... Make the foundation of this society…. A man who never would!... No more fighting for no other reason than a distorted history in a meaningless war!" The Doctor shouted to both sides. All those there apart from commander Cobb had lowered their guns when the terraform machine was smashed on the floor setting its process going the sight was so beautiful all of the gold and silver liquid within the sphere rising up into the air. With that the Doctor turned around and gently picked Dan up from the floor. The Doctor started to move off from everyone there with the Master, Harry and Donna following him.

The Doctor had realised he didn't know what those machines were, he would have stuck his own arm in without a second thought or checking the timeline and that would have left this young teenage lad to be his possible son. It took nearly an hour for them to move to the chapel that was on the schematics, the Doctor gently placed Dan on a stone alter and laid him down brushing his hand through his hair gently once after folding his hand and arms across his stomach and chest. Donna looked numb.

"He could have been made from my DNA, I didn't know what those machines were if it wasn't for the Master… He could have been part of me, but it would have been an echo of what a true Time Lord is…. Yet he was still a human being with free will at the end of the day, he turned away from his programming of a soldier and tried to help instead. He will hopefully be the last death this planet sees in the immediate future!" The Doctor explained to the three of them there with him. The Doctor had just finished speaking when rays of sunshine lit through the top of a window shining light on the body as though acknowledging the Doctors words and letting them know things would change now for the better.

Both human and Hath came to pay their respects to the male teenager that Harry had named Dan. The Doctor had made an impression and the two sides were working together or at least were able to be in the same room together without trying to kill each other as soon as they saw someone from their opposing side. There had been enough death, as the day passed on and turned into the night you could see the complex slowly being unburied from the surrounding soil as it was converted into vegetation and other minerals needed to terraform a planet. seven days later as the Doctor and the Master were sorting out the terraforming and helping the two sides, the who complex had become visible. Even the air had been purified and was able now to be breathed.

Dan was laid to rest two weeks after the complex was unburied, everyone alive turned out for the last resting place of Dan Noble with a tree planted and growing on top of his resting place taken from the ship and a marble grave listing the death of the commanding team and finally Dan Noble 'The last to sacrifice himself in a meaningless war, peace should aways be achieved, before fighting starts!' Then opposite stood another monument that showed what had happened to the two sides after the original team fell apart and no new commander could be chosen between the two sided and what had happened over the seven days that the war had been fought with platoon after platoon being killed off trying to take the complex for each of their respective species. Leading to a meaningless war for seven days with thousands killed on both sides.

After watching Dan being laid to rest the four made their way back to the TARDIS looking around as they walked to where she was parked, the complex was now fully unburied and was in use being tidied up and getting ready for co-habitation as it was meant to be from the beginning. Finally, they made it back to the TARDIS and with one last look back at the area they were parked in the four entered her.
