Headmaster's Office
Moseby rushed off to the Headmaster's office, unsure if the password was the same as the previous year. Thankfully, he didn't have to think on it for long, as the headmaster himself stepped out of a nearby doorway and invited him in. The doorway led to a staircase, which ultimately ended in the Headmaster's office. Thankfully Moseby had only been up here for good reasons, not actually getting in trouble. When they walked in, McGonagall was there, standing next to a seated Arwin Hawkhauser. Moseby immediately felt his blood run cold. This could only mean one thing. He was to be the new tutor for Arwin!
He dreaded the thought of it, especially when Arwin gave him the dopiest most lopsided grin he's ever seen.
" Mr. Moseby, as the pride of our school, you know it best. You're also the top student and a prefect, " McGonagall began, " We would like you to tutor Mr. Hawhauser for the next year, get him caught up on his studies so that he is prepared to graduate next year like everyone else"
"Professor McGonagall, you can't be serious" Moseby exclaimed, looking between her and the Headmaster, " I have my own studies, as well as my own first years to take care of, "
" We understand, dear boy, but you are the smartest student in the school as well as the best tutor. We're sure Arwin will be caught up by the end of this semester with you teaching him, " Headmaster Tipton chuckled, clapping a hand onto Moseby's shoulder, " Plus, tutoring him will give you a few extra House points for your house this year. I hear there are two new Gryffindors who are already racking up points this year. We have a strong bunch of first years this year and we want Arwin caught up to speed"
Moseby sighed deeply through his nose. The headmaster was testing him, he just knew it. So, it would have to be done.
"Alright, headmaster, I will tutor him, " He agreed, though hesitantly. He looked to Arwin, who was still sitting there goofily, " you had better work very hard, I will not be going easy on you, Mr. Hawkhauser"
"Yessir" Arwin mumbled, cheeks a little flushed. He glanced away nervously. Good, Moseby though, can't have him thinking we're going to be friends.
