Chapter 1
“Well done!”
Everyone in the Gryffindor cheered when Ginny scored again and Harry got the snitch — winning their team against the Ravenclaw. They won the Cup again! This is Ginny’s first year in joining Quidditch team but she proved herself already. She couldn’t describe the ecstasy in her when her teammates hugged her as they cried in happiness. Even Harry is jumping in joy.
“Gryffindor wins by one hundred twenty points to seventy. Gryffindor Wins!” Luna Lovegood announced. “Also, has anyone seen my shoes? They mysteriously disappeared again...”

Everyone is happy dancing and partying in the common room for celebration. Ron Weasley is having a dance battle with Seamus — which embarrassed and entertained Ginny at the same time. Harry Potter is also laughing seeing Ron but did not joined dancing as others. Katie, who is the oldest member of the team, was enjoying along with other chaser Demelza Robins. Ginny could hear Katie telling Demelza how she missed playing with Angelina Johnson and Alicia Spinnet, former chasers of Gryffindor.
Everyone is enjoying, Ginny could see that — but she failed to see a familiar person. Of course, she thought. Hermione would never be here. Not now that the final exam is approaching. She would either be in library or in dormitory, with her nose stuck in a book and a large pile of books beside her. Ginny couldn’t help but wonder how that could be called enjoying. She knows it’s because of the upcoming exams but can’t that wait? Celebrating this victory is much more attention-worthy than studying. Knowing Hermione, nothing more important than the final exams she needs to ace. Typical Hermione.
Without anyone noticing, Ginny found herself on her way to the library just to see Hermione — as she expected — sitting with plenty of books around her. The older is laser beam focus that she failed to notice the red-haired Gryffindor sitting across her.
“Is there a day you are not reading a book?” Hermione almost drop the book she’s reading upon hearing the younger. Ginny laughed at the act. “Bloody hell, Ginny. You surprised me!”
Ginny shrugged, clearly unaffected at the elder’s question or even the glare she gave at her, “Well, you wouldn’t be if you are also aware of your surroundings.”
Hermione sighed and dropped her book, “What are you doing here? Aren’t you celebrating for your win? They are celebrating, right?”
“Exactly,” Ginny replies, staring at the older. “So why are you here? You should join us.”
Hermione shrugs, “I’m good. Besides, finals are fast approaching. I cannot fail this.” Ginny snatched the book when Hermione is about to read again, earning a glare form the latter. “You should enjoy sometimes, Hermione. Don’t dwell here in library.”
“I am enjoying my life by studying, Ginny. We have our own ways of enjoying.” Hermione replies. Boring. Ginny thought. “I know you’re bored here. You should go and join them.”
“Nah, I’m good.” Ginny found herself staring at the brunette, enjoying the way the older is studying like there’s no person around. Hermione seemed to notice her, “Stop staring. You’re distracting me.” Ginny scoffed in amusement, “I did distract you? That’s new. . .” She stated in astonishment. Hermione glared at her, “You are in front, leaning while staring at me. Anyone would creep out.”
Ginny laughs, “Yeah, maybe I did distract you a bit.’’
Completely forgetting the victory party, Ginny decided to just read some of the books Hermione borrowed, which the latter didn’t seem to mind. Boring. Ginny thought. She can’t count how many times she thought about that whenever she’s with Hermione. She knows she can pass the exam, but not as good as Hermione, though.
“You got O’s when you take O.W.L.s, right?” Ginny asked after the moment of silence. Hermione ignored her. “Come on, I want to know. I’m taking O.W.L.s, you know.” Hermione looked up, staring at the younger, “What do you want to know?”
Ginny shrugged, “Is it hard?”
Hermione looked at her as if she said something stupid.
“You’ll be fine. Don’t worry.” Hermione instead replied, leaving Ginny perplexed. “I’m studying in advance for N.E.W.T.s” Hermione stated which didn’t surprised Ginny. She heard Ron blabbering about how Hermione constantly reminds him and Harry about the upcoming N.E.W.T.s which they will take on their seventh-year.
“Why didn’t you take Divination class?” Ginny asked. She seemed to annoyed the older when Hermione frowned, irritated by the question. “It’s foolish to take such subject.”
She really hates Divination. Ginny thought. She knows Hermione disliked it, but she doesn’t think she disliked it to the point of dropping the subject.
