Chapter 7

Delilah walked into the Ravenclaw common room. The room had midnight blue curtains and carpet. It had multiple arches and books around the room topped off with a dome ceiling. Delilah had never seen anything like it. She gazed around the room in awe until she came to be aware that everyone had already dispersed back to their sleeping chambers.
“Dang it.’ she said under her breath.
Delilah looked over and saw a blonde girl with a sketchbook sitting on a couch by one of the arches.
“Excuse me,” Delilah said, “I lost my group. Could you help me find the sleeping chambers?”
“Yeah, follow me,” The girl said. She led her down a long hallway on the side of the room. It looked a lot similar to the design of the previous room except it was a hallway and had about eight doors including both sides of the hallway. “What’s your name?”
“Delilah Black”
“I’m Florence Tula.” She said as she searched the plaques on each door. She pointed to one. “Ooh you’re in the same dorm as me.” She opened the door. The room had five canopy beds each with midnight blue blankets and sheets. Though some of them were more messed up than others.
“Well,” Florence started, “You already know me. I am a second year.” She pointed to a girl with black short hair and large facial features who had her head dangling off the end of her bed. “That is Talisa Caspian. She is in her seventh year. The girl over their practicing spells is Victoria Wood, a fifth year student, and finally the girl reading the book, Romilda Vane is a first year like you.” She said as she pointed to the girls. Victoria had ombre hair with relaxed dignified features. While Romilda was decently tan with dark brown hair that had the same color as her eyes that could pierce through someone's soul. Delilah was kind of scared by her.
“You can sleep there,” Romilda said, barely glancing up from her book.
Classes passed the next day and before Delilah knew it she was heading back towards her dormitory. She thought History of Magic was okay but it was a joint class with the Slytherins. Even though she thought Quirell was an interesting professor, she thoroughly enjoyed the subject and thought, at least so far, that she was doing quite well with the subject. Transfiguration was definitely the funniest as Professor Mcgonnagal threatened to turn Ron and Harry into pocket watches making her one of her favorite, maybe even her favorite, professor.
“Hey, Delilah.” She heard from a quiet voice behind her.
“Oh hey Harry.” She replied, “How did your first day go?”
“It went well,” He said as they continued walking, “Except for the potions teacher, he kept taking away points from my house for ridiculous things and was expecting me to know about different potions on the first day.”
“You are famous. He probably expects you to be the most powerful in the class.”
“I guess,” Harry said, “But, anyway I wanted to invite you. Me and Ron are going down to Haggrid’s in the afternoon on Friday. Do you want to come?”
“Sure.” Delilah responded, “I have only made one maybe two friends in Ravenclaw and I have a few acquaintances so overall I’m not missing much.”
