What is happening
Barty Jr was meant for Regulus. Everybody knew. Well, at least the whole Slytherin did. Barty did know that for sure.
Nobody tried to approach him, both of them were possessive out of their minds. Okay, maybe they weren't dating. But the situationship has been
going on for as long as he can remember, and that is two years.
At the beginning of the fourth year, Regulus caught Barty's attention. He rocked into the train, his curls curling more than usual, he cut his long hair and got taller. Doesn't seem like much, though believe Barty, it was. He can admit, that he was kind of bored. Horny too. But he was fifteen. What were you expecting?? It wasn't just quick hookups with Regulus though. Oh no, they were playing this game of hide and seek or whatever you call it. Barty worked his ass off for their situation ship to go THIS far. In the beginning, it started with pretty comments. "Your hair looks pretty Black"(add a sarcastic tone to your imagination of this sentence) "Fuck off, Crouch". "Got taller? You'll be towering over me any second" "Yeah, trying to make it easier for myself to kick you in your mother fucking face, you know.", "Did you curl your lashes? Cause they're stunningly worth looking at." "Oh fuck off."
Based on these examples, you can figure out two things. It was Barty, who made the first "moves". The second conclusion may be that Regulus was actually amusingly short. You wouldn't have guessed his height with his attitude, that's for sure. When their friend group met for the first time, it immediately became their joke subject. Would anyone imagine it any other way? Probably not, considering that Regulus wasn't even at the height of Barty's shoulder in the second year. Though you gotta give it to Regulus, in the fourth year, he got the same height as Barty, his curls making him even a little bit taller (no, it did not last for long).
So continuing on their situationship, Barty made the whole base for it. With every comment that he made he was becoming less and less sarcastic. Regulus seemed to start to notice this change halfway through the 4th year. That wasn't surprising anyway since Barty sarcastically flirted with all his friends. Especially Evan. He was pretty as fuck, Barty must admit. That was just the case with their friend group. Each of them lookin heavanly. Regulus though, caught his heart in another way. Stopped the feeling of eternal boredom he got when he was alone, which he tried to avoid. When with other people, his problems seemed to go away. Being with Regulus drowned out the thoughts telling him how disappointing he is, how much of a mess he is. And so he pushed their relationship as much as he could. 2 months into the fifth year, Reg began flirting back. "Stop embarrassing us, Junior" "You wanna kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid." "And so what if I do?". That was the first time Regulus answered. Barty was left stunned for the next week.
They began flirting more and more often till it became regular. They also held hands!!! What was that if not the confirmation of their relationship...? Yes, Barty sometimes was irritated at how slow their relationship was going, but in the end, it was Regulus. He had too much stuff going on to do it faster. And so they were dating. Almost. That was the keyword, yet it was so unimportant. But a fact is a fact. Regulus was his. Until the fucking Potter came in.
