Note
It's my first time writing a Sirius/Lily story or one centered on the marauders' era, so there will be a lot of things that maybe don't make sense or are not accurate with the decades, but just ignore that. This chapter is some kind of introduction, I don't know how long this story it's going to be but at least it has a beginning now.Hope you enjoy it :)

Chapter 1

It all had started on the summer before their 6th year, Lily had found herself a part time job for the season as a waitress of a muggle bar. The money was alright and she could get out of her house and avoid Petunia and her stupid new boyfried, and it was only a plus that the bar had an excellent selection of music and interesting customers to talk to.

Was on a particular busy hot day when her coworker asked her to cover her up for a minute and take the pints to a table ouside. Lily had already noticed him, it was impossible not to look at him sitting there, laughing carefree and smoking with some older guys that looked like bad news, but she had made her best effort to stay out of his sight, not that he was going to notice her anyways.

- Thank you love- said no one else but Sirius Black when she placed a pint in front of him barely giving her a look, until he realized who she was and stared back at her with wide eyes and a surprised expression. It was the first time Lily noticed how grey and beautiful his eyes were.

- That's the sight of love- said one of the older boys mocking Sirius when she walked away.

- Oh shut up- replied Sirius with a cigarette between his teeth, punching him on the shoulder- I'm not that desperate.

But later the wizard found himself walking inside with the excuse of asking for another round of pints.

- What are you doing without your friends Black?- asked Lily behind the counter.

- I'm with friends Evans- Sirius replied leaning casually on the counter, looking curiously at her.

- You know what I mean- she scowled at him- do they even know you're a wizard?

- They don't need to know- he shrugged- I'm just making business here, trying to buy a motorbike, maybe get a tattoo.

- You're underage for all that- observed Lily surprised- you're even underage to be buying pints.

- Well you're underage too and apparently you work here so that's a little bit contradictory Evans- said Sirius with a smirk- Now, would you get me three more pints please?

- Do you have an ID? I can't sell to underage people- she asked with the same tone of voice she used every time she found someone breaking the rules on her prefect's rounds.

Sirius looked at her with a smug smile and showed her his ID, Lily couldn't help but roll her eyes, of course Sirius Black has a fake muggle ID and of course he looked handsome in the picture when everybody always looked bad.

- Everything in order Evans?- he asked tapping his fingers on the counter as if he was bored waiting.

Lily returned him the ID and turned to start serving the pints without a word.

- You know, I was thinking I could invite James and Remus to have a drink here someday, the place looks... interesting- he commented looking around.

- I don't care about Remus because he's my friend, but don't you dare bring that Potter tosser here- she replied frowning and passing him the pints- now if you excuse me, I'm busy- she added walking annoyed to a table.

They didn't talk again and to Lily's relief he didn't return to the bar. A part of her was disappointed tho, her curiosity kept her thinking about him and wondering how Sirius Black, a pureblood of an ancestral family, got involved with muggles.

Almost a month had passed since their accidental encounter when Sirius walked very excited into the bar.

- Evans are you free right now?- he asked with a bright smile.

- Hello to you too Black- she said a little bit sarcastic.

- Yeah yeah, hello, are you free or not? I got to show you something- he asked again, his eyes sparkling with expectation.

- I'm working- she stated like it was the most obvious thing and noticing how his smile faltered for a second.

- Your shift is almost over and it's quiet today, you can go, I'll cover you- intervened her coworker with a playful smile.

- Ugh fine- Lily glared at her coworker- just wait outside while I search for my things Black.

Lily didn't wait for his reply before going to the back office to grab her bag.

- He's really handsome- observed her coworker who had followed Lily- you're a lucky girl- she winked at her.

- It's not like that- blushed Lily and walked to the door to join Sirius outside- see you tomorrow.

- What do you want Black? - She asked eyeing him suspicious when she found him leaning against the wall- If this is some kind of joke you've planned with your friends...

- Hate to break your heart but no, James's not around- he laughed then he pointed at a rickety motorbike - Look what I bought.

- Uhm...congratulations?- she said confused.

- I know it needs a lot of work but it's has a lot of potential, I have great plans for this one- Declared Sirius sitting on the motorbike and looking at it like it was the most precious thing in the world.

- Do you even know something about mechanics or how to drive it?- Asked Lily, doubting if that rusty thing could even march without falling apart.

- Of course I do- he said with confidence- do you wanna go for a ride? I have like an hour before my portkey.

- No thank you, why do you need a portkey if you have that thing?- she exclaimed surprised-

Sirius chuckled- I can't drive it all the way to Potter manor, it would take me days to get there.

- Don't you have your own family home? How did you even got here?- asked Lily innocently and noticed how Sirius expression turned serious.

- Wow you ask too many questions Evans- he replied trying to avoid the subject of his family- and muggles travel a lot, you know? It's not that hard to go to places.

- I know, I'm muggle born, remember?- she said annoyed, she didn't need Sirius Black explaining her about her world.

- Well, you were the nearest person that I knew of and I needed to show someone this beauty- he shrugged- besides no one will believe me at Hogwarts, so it'll be of help if the perfect prefect could back up my words- he winked mischievous at her.

- As if someone would believe I know something about your life Black, we are not friends- she disagreed- and I hope you didn't tell your friends about where I live.

- Of course I didn't, James wouldn't have left me alone until I brought him here to see you so...- he looked at her and lighted a cigarette.

- Why do you like muggle things so much?- she asked trying to fill the awkward silence that had formed, at least to her because Sirius looked relaxed as always.

He shrugged again, exhaling the smoke of his cigarette- my parents hate all that is related to muggles and apparently I'm a rebel- he said with a cocky smirk.

- Oh yeah, I know that- she laughed with him for the first time.

- That was at first- he explained smiling- then I found out muggles have interesting things.

- I've noticed, the way you dress yourself gives you away- she commented letting her eyes roam up and down his body, noticing he was wearing a tshirt of a muggle rock band.

- Muggle clothes are more comfortable than those stupid robes- he said giving her a knowing look when she looked back at his eyes.

- Yeah well...- she blushed slightly feeling caught looking at him- I gotta get going, my mom will be worried if I'm late.

- Okay- he threw the cigarette and stubbed it against the pavement with his boot- see you at Hogwarts I guess.

- If you don't get killed driving that thing before- she teased- Have a safe trip Black- and gave him an awkward wave with her hand that she was going to be regretting for weeks, before walking away.
