Chapter 1
Tom Riddle frowned as he jumped to his feet. He was reading in the Chamber of Secrets, but a loud crash made him cautious. No one else should be able to get in, only the Heir of Slytherin, Tom himself. Tom fished his wand out carefully as he poked his head around a pillar looking toward the noise. A boy lay there, groaning. Tom instantly willed his magic to create a net of snakes to circle the newcomer.
“Oh Shoot… Let go!” The boy hissed.
The snakes let go. Tom froze. He was a Parselmouth. But that was impossible! Tom personally had killed them all! The boy turned his head slowly to look at Tom. Riddle gasped as he gazed into the bright green orbs that were the boy's eyes. The boy’s facial features were almost identical to his own… It can’t be…
“Oh, damn it. Hello, Father of mine, I have no clue how come I saw transported here. I shall…” The boy trailed off.
Tom was shocked and silent as his fears were proven to be correct. Tom pointed his wand at the child,
“What is your full name child,” Tom hissed, his magic flaring up against his future child’s.
He didn’t want to have kids. They would just get in the way of his plans… But he can certainly see the benefits, he guessed. The boy smiled and bowed just enough to say he respects that Tom is superior in this situation. Tom could tell that his future self would be the only other his son had bowed to.
“Hadrian Thomas Riddle-Gaunt, sir” His son muttered quietly as Tom was still staring deep into his emerald green eyes.
Hadrian. That is a nice name. Very pureblooded.
“Mmm, pureblood?” Tom asked, wondering who the mother was. Surely he didn’t have a spouse. What if he settled down in the future? What if his plan as Voldemort didn’t go ahead-
“Half-blood, sir” The boy declared, while Tom was shocked.
Half-blood. He had lowered himself down to a mud-blood or half-blood? Tom shook away that thought before bending down to touch his son's hair. Fluffy. Messy and knotted. Very similar to his, but uncared for. His future self obviously had no taste. Unless, that was the most popular style in the future? Hopefully not. His son smiled hesitantly and Tom found himself grinning along with this child.
“How old are you, son?” Tom asked, looking at this young child on the cold floor of the Chamber of Secrets.
He doesn’t look Hogwarts age, but where would he stay until he gets back to his own time? He could come back to the orphanage with him… Tom had just turned 16. He was head boy and Slytherin king, he could just hide him in the dorms-
“13!” The boy answered proudly.
Tom’s lips were raised a smidgen by his confident tone. So, Tom could go see Dippet and enroll him in Hogwarts. Easy.
“Come with me, child, I will enroll you into Hogwarts, stay quiet about everything you told me, just let me do the talking,” Tom said, gathering his things before leading his son out of the Chamber. He watched his son gasp and stare at the inside of Hogwarts.
“What? Have you never seen this before” Tom snapped, trying to dull his feeling of amusement at the child.
“I have but it doesn’t look like this, you tell me about it all the time though! You made Hogwarts better ever since you won the war and legalized dark magic!"
Tom turned shocked. Wow. He had done it. Started a war. Won it. Legalized dark magic. Changed Hogwarts.
“Indeed,” Tom said dryly, trying not to show his feelings.
The boy grinned up at him before trotting off happily down the corridor. Tom started at his figure. He was adorable. Tom knows he hates kids, but Hadrian? Tom was drawn from his thoughts as Hadrian started laughing. Tom looked around quickly trying to locate the source of the noise before locking eyes with a group of 2nd year Gryffindors. Tom calmly yet quickly trotted over, looped his arm over Hadrian's shoulder, and escorted him out of the conversation quickly.
“Stay close to me” Tom hissed as Hadrian smiled apologetically.
“Sorry sir!” He chirped happily before quickly running to keep up with Tom’s long strides. Tom internally cooed at the sight. Hadrian was quite short…
“How tall are you?” Tom asked, his voice filling the comfortable silence between them. Hadrian snorted slightly.
“5 foot” Hadrian responded, his face cast downwards, and an embarrassed blush coated his face. Tom shook his head, smiling slightly. No wonder he could easily tower over his son. He did think he was shorter than the other 3rd years at Hogwarts. Tom himself had always been tall for his age, being just over 6 feet already, only 16 years of age.
Tom stopped in front of the headmaster's door.
“Now, stay quiet, agree with what I say, let me do the talking,” Tom said, ushering him inside. Hadrian nodded quickly and walked inside. An old balding man sat on a chair and beckoned him and Tom forward.
“Mr Riddle? How can I help you? And, who is this?” Dippet asked, frowning slightly.
Tom smiled, his mouth full of fake gratitude.
“This, sir, is Hadrian Gaunt. His father, Tolmnuis Gaunt has recently passed due to dragon pox, and he has no family. He contacted me directly, wanting to enroll in Hogwarts. He has previously been tutored by his father, so he has a basic understanding of magic.” Tom said, his voice was soft, sounding desperate with a slight undertone of arrogance. Dippet nodded understandingly.
“Do you have any other family?” Dippet asked Hadrian directly. Harry lifted his head up and meet Dippet’s eyes. Dippet’s face contorted in sympathy as he saw HAdrain wipe away tears in his wet eyes.
“No, sir- I… I just need a place to stay-” Hadrian said, his voice cracking for a second before he sobbed loudly. “I am sorry sir- I…” He trailed off as Tom wrapped his arms around the crying boy. Dippet nodded instantly.
“How old are you? We must sort you into a house,” He said, smiling widely as Tom looked up, hearing the acceptance.
“He is 13 sir, he, and I are ever so grateful that you-” Tom was cut off.
“Nonsense, it was no problem. 13, you say? Well, let's sort him then! No time like the present!” Dippet said, grabbing the sorting hat from the shelf behind him and gently passing it over to Tom who placed in upon Hadrains wild curls.
The sorting hat muttered and mumbled to itself before yelling…
