Severus’s POV
Severus curled up in his bed as soon as the moon came out and Remus retired to his own room, dosed with wolfsbane, but still too anxious to be around Severus in case something went wrong.
The day had actually gone pretty usual, other than Remus being more tired and hungry than usual, everything went the same until dinner which they had to eat a couple hours early since the moon came out so early in the winter. That and the fact they wouldn’t see each other for another twelve or so hours and Severus had to go to bed three hours early.
Well, he didn’t have to, but if he didn’t then he’d need another diaper change Remus wasn’t there to do and he wouldn’t really have anything to do at all. He and Remus were always together except during his therapy sessions when Remus was just down the hall.
Severus whimpered and buried deeper beneath his blankets, already missing his housemate even though it’d only been ten or so minutes since they saw each other. Every night was hard, Severus hated being alone for so long with nothing but his own mind, but this was the worst yet, and Severus thought that’d probably be a trend for every Full Moon.
“It’s okay. It’s okay. It’s okay.” Severus whispered to himself, holding back tears from distress, made worse from how his throat ached at the rare spoken words. “It kay.”
Severus’s voice wobbled with a dry sob, eyes moistening, as he uncontrollably wailed. “Remus!”
That would usually be more than enough to have Remus running, not even mentioning the fact Severus never used his vocal chords to communicate, but he’d already be asleep and it was near impossible to wake him up when transformed.
“Remus! Remus! Remus!” He kept screaming, not having a choice in the matter, as the tears finally started falling, and not slow or softly at that. “Remus!”
Remus didn’t come.
