Chapter 20
Reg was panicking.
The Dark Lord and Harry had fallen unconscious. Tom, who looked completely human now (and incredibly handsome), had been taken to the master bedroom. Harry was in the guest room, almost catatonic.
He couldn't lose Fawn! He'd just gotten him back!
Reg tried casting more spells that would help Harry wake up, but nothing happened.
"Please, please wake up, Fawn," he whispered.
-------
Tom sat up suddenly, making Severus and Lucius jump. "Sorry," he apologized. He missed their shocked expressions as he got out of the bed. "Where's Raven and Potter-Black?"
"Potter-Black is unconscious, my Lord," Severus said quietly. "In the guest room."
"He barely had a pulse, my Lord," Lucius added worriedly.
"Why didn't you summon Narcissa?" Tom demanded, alarmed, and swooped out of the bedroom. Lucius and Severus followed.
"We didn't have your-"
"Fuck my permission, a child is hurt!" Tom said sharply. He ignored the thought of Regulus' child is hurt.
Lucius nodded quickly and fingered the locket on his chest.
Tom knocked quietly on the door to the guest room, and it flung open. Regulus startled and blushed when he saw Tom.
"He's not waking up," he rasped, stepping aside.
Tom strode over to the bed. Potter-Black looked pale. He paused, then cast in Parseltongue.
"~Rennervate.~"
Potter-Black gasped and sat up, yelping, "Don't what?!"
"Fawn!" Regulus cried, pouncing on the boy.
"Uff! Dad, I'm fine!"
"You almost died! You are not fine!" Regulus pulled Potter-Black into a hug.
"I kinda did die?" Potter-Black said slowly. "I met Death."
"You what?" Tom and Regulus exclaimed in unison, horrified.
"Calm your fucking tits," Potter-Black retorted. Tom choked, and Regulus let out a slightly hysterical laugh. "I'm the Master of Death. I can't die, not unless I want to."
Tom stared at the boy, speechless.
At that moment, the door burst open, and Nagini entered.
~Tom, why didn't you tell me the Hatchling was hurt?!~ she snapped. ~Hatchling, are you alright? What has Tom done now?~
Potter-Black laughed. "~I'm fine, Nagini. He didn't do anything.~"
~Good,~ Nagini said, giving Tom a threating glare. She slithered onto the bed. ~Since you're all better, you can help me get Tom together with your father.~
"~You'll do no such thing!~" Tom sputtered, stifling a blush. Regulus looked confused.
Potter-Black grinned mischievously. "~I'm not your Death Eater. You can't order me to do anything.~"
"I would never make a child a Death Eater," Tom said irritably.
"You'd better not," he heard Regulus mutter under his breath. Potter-Black and Nagini snickered.
Tom changed the subject. "Narcissa -- Lucius' wife -- will be here in a moment, I want to make sure you have no lingering effects from the ritual."
"You'll like Narcissa, Harry," Regulus said with a smile. "She was like a sister to me, growing up."
Potter-Black relaxed. "Okay."
"You can stay with your son for now, Regulus," Tom said, "but there are a few things I would like you to do. Come and find me before you leave, please."
Regulus went wide-eyed as Tom left. He supposed he was a lot gentler than he used to be.
~You are going to help me get Tom and Raven together, right?~ he heard Nagini ask Potter-Black as he left.
"~Duh.~"
Fuck!
