Prelude
Shortly after Voldemort was defeated and the wizarding world is trying to put their lives back together, Harry and Ron become Aurors in training. Hermione decided that she was going to go back to Hogwarts for her final year. Draco also decides to finish his time at Hogwarts. Being the only two to return, they are asked to become Head Boy and Head Girl. During this time, they grow closer together and find that maybe, just maybe, they can get past their differences and begin to see each other in a new light.
Eventually, they acknowledge their feelings for one another, and lead the charge in unifying Purebloods, Halfbloods, and Muggleborns. They help show that who they were in their youth, doesn't relegate them to remaining the same for the rest of their lives.
Ron and Harry aren't so keen on their relationship at first, but seeing how Draco has changed, they realize that Draco really isn't all that bad. Of course, they aren't best friends, but they are happy to see that Hermione is happy for the first time since the war.
Harry marries Ginny. Ron rekindles his relationship with Lavender. Luna and Neville find comfort in one another. Neville becomes the new Herbology Professor. Luna becomes the new Magical Creatures Professor. Draco steps into the role of the Potions professor, as well as the Head of Slytherin House, showing daily, his resolve and passion in becoming who he wants to be rather than who his father wanted him to be. Hermione goes to the Ministry of Magic to lead the efforts in the unification of the wizarding world. She works hard to create opportunities for Muggleborns and squibs alike.
Dudley Dursley goes on to (unwittingly) marry a squib by the name of Alicia Prewitt. The grandchild of Gideon Prewitt. Gideon and his brother died in the First Wizarding war, but not before Gideon fathered a boy by the name Jonas Prewitt. After marrying Alicia, Dudley finds that his twins, Malachi and Mallory Dursley, are magical. Terrified and ashamed because of his upbringing, he hides this information from his parents until his father, Vernon Dursley, dies of a heart attack. Petunia discovers her grandchildren's magical abilities shortly thereafter, but does not react in the way Dudley fears. Instead, she shows love and tries to make up for how she treated Harry all those years. She helps Dudley get in contact with Harry and Ginny, and together, they help Dudley's children grow in knowledge of the magical world. James, Albus, Lily, Malachi and Mallory grow up to be very close and good friends. Although it takes a while for Harry, Dudley and Petunia to mend their relationship, they work hard for the benefit of their children.
Draco and Hermione give birth to Scorpius and Cassiopeia (Cassi) named after Draco's great aunt Cassiopeia Black.
This is the story of the next generation heading off to Hogwarts together for the first time.
