Chapter 1

Regulus heard them all night. The screams of his brother. He knew it was sirius' fault he swore at their mother. But did he really deserve this? Regulus heard running up the stairs and shouts of his mother. He blocked it out. If he didn't listen he was fine. He wasn't but still. The house went quiet no doubt they finished the punishment but Sirius' screams still echo in his ears.

He reads in his room until he hears it. A knock on his bedroom door.

"Enter," He says simply

Sirius walks in his trunk behind him. "Reg," He looks at his brother eyes wide. This can't be happening. Sirius wouldn't leave him right? Sirius said he would stay. He would stay with him right?

Regulus already knew the answer. He said it anyway. "Stay,"

"Come with me," the brothers say at the same time. Both knowing the answer. This story being written for them, they know they can't change it how they wish they could. "I can't," They both say.

Sirius looks at his brother. "Plaese," He tries one last time. Only to get the same answer. Both brothers know the way the story will end. One will leave and this time the younger will not follow. No matter how much he wants to. "Go Sirius, I will see you back at Hogwarts yeah?" Regulus knows only one can leave. If both went Mother would chase them down till she had both boys back in her grasp. Sirius looks at his brother one last time before leaving the plain room. Even though Regulus knew this would happen he still feels so betrayed. How could he just leave him without batting an eye. It's so unfair. Why should he have to stay? Of course again Regulus knew the answer he always does, because if Regulus left they would try and get him back. Sirius has a chance and Regulus refuses to take that away from him. Regulus goes to bed his head full of worry for his brother. What would happen to Sirius? Where would he go? Regulus shut his eyes a single tear slipping out of his eye. His curls splattered on the pillow like ink he finally got some sleep. Well, Regulus never slept in the holidays. He was still semi awake however it was the best he was going to get. When he awoke the next day his mother was leaning over his bed. Regulus shot up in an instant. His mother smiled at him. What happened? "Get dressed," his mother told him then left the room. Regulus got ready in his robes a nagging feeling of anxiety chewing at his stomach.

He walked down the stairs his mother in the tapestry room. "Blast Sirius off," she told him. Regulus looked down how would he do this? He lifted his wand and looked at the picture of his brother on the wall. He kept his wand held up but he couldn't make himself cast the spell. Emotions rolled around him he couldn't do it. He wasso overwhelmed. If he balsted Sirius off it would be real. He couldn't make it real. Please don't let it be real. Regulus was begging for something to make him move something to take control. Nothing worked.

"Foolish boy. You are just as worthless as your brother," she sneared at him. He snaped.

"At least Sirius wasn't a blood supremacist cow," his voice was laced with venom. He immediately regretted what he said. Shit.

"HOW DARE YOU!" His mother screached. At this point Regulus just shut down. What's the point of feeling if she would just scream at him?

"-OMPETENT AND LAZY! CRUSIO,"

Regulus felt that. He wouldn't scream. He refused to scream. He wouldn't give her the satisfaction. It felt like all his organs were being ripped out. One. By. One. He looked at his mother. She didn't have her wand anymore. So why does it still hurt? He put his head on the floor. All he could hear was a high pitched ringing. His mother's mouth moving, yet no sound coming out. She left the room. Why was he so dizzy. He felt something run out his nose his hand slowly going up to whipe it away. Leaving with a smearing of red. Everything hurt. Then nothing hurt it was just black.
