Kim Taehyung and Shit Hits the Fan.
“NO!” Taehyung screamed, lurching forward. Sweat coated his skin and he wasn’t sure where he was. All he knew was he saw a shadow in the corner of the room, and without hesitating, he pulled his wand from his robes and lashed out. A flash of white exploded the furthest wall, and a light turned on. Namjoon was hugging him within seconds, petting Taehyung’s hair and shushing him with rocking motions. Taehyung didn’t even notice that Namjoon slipped his wand from his fingers, letting it fall into the blankets.
Through his sobs, Taehyung managed to clutch Namjoon’s shirt, digging in.
“ Shhhh, it’s okay, you’re safe. You’re in Ravenclaw tower, it’s just me and you. It’s okay Tae, you’re okay- ”
“J-Joon, w-we need to l-leave-”
“ We’re safe. There’s an auror in the common room, we can go sleep there- ”
“NO!” Taehyung suddenly yelled, pushing Namjoon away. He wasn’t sure why he was acting like this, but it felt right. Being hysterical was the only response his body could have, and his brain was telling him it was for good reason. They needed to leave, now .
“We have to get help! The death tapestry, he was gone, he wasn’t in my dream, we have to go-” Namjoon stared at Taehyung, a million thoughts flying through his head. Namjoon bit his lip and nodded, leaving the bed and throwing a sweatshirt on. He shoved one over Taehyung’s head and grabbed his hand, guiding Taehyung down the stairs and into the common room. Taehyung was vaguely aware of the guard shouting at them, but Namjoon waved his wand and a green gas floated around the man’s head. He quickly stilled, slumping against the wall with a flick of Namjoon’s hand.
Together, they rushed into the hall, Namjoon leading with a long stride. Taehyung stumbled along, dread filling his head with each step. This was right, but it didn’t feel safe. They weren’t supposed to be out at night, and something in Taehyung’s gut told him it was for a good reason. He couldn’t help but see moving shadows, and the paintings. . . the people where all gone-
Taehyung dug his heels into the floor, and stopped Namjoon harshly.
“We-we shouldn’t be here!” He whimpered, feeling his robes for his wand. To Taehyung’s horror, he realized it was back in his bed. He clung to Namjoon’s arm, terrified.
“What’s wrong? Tae, come on, you’re scaring me-”
“We’re being followed. Or watched. Or tracked. Something. I can’t hear Hogwarts.”
“What do you mean hear Hogwarts-”
* rustle*
“AHHHHHH!” Taehyung screeched, yanking Namjoon’s wand from his hand and casting a spell in the direction behind them where the noise came from.
“ STOP IT! TEETH SAYS STOP YELLING YOU IDIOT! ” Teeth suddenly ran to them from the darkness, clutching her tea cloth to her chest. “ You will bring the evils straight to yous and Teeth!”
“Teeth?” Namjoon asked aloud, and Taehyung caught the glance the house elf gave him.
“ Shh, pretty boy. We must leave now, hurry, no time for flirting. Teeth will take you to the Headmistress, but we must go now- ”
She ran forward, taking a sharp left. The two boys had no choice but to follow.
“ Teeth-” Namjoon whispered. “ This isn’t the way to-”
“ Other way not safe for yous, Teeth knows safe way, hurry-”
“But why isn’t it safe? Who’s out there-”
Teeth rounded the corner and paused, her big nose sniffing the air. She frowned at the darkness before them, listening. Taehyung could hear the wind howling through the corridors, the late night moon giving them no light. The painting people were not here, and he didn’t feel like Hogwarts was there either.
“ Teeth will apparate yous there now. We are out of time.” Teeth busied herself by warming her fingers.
“Wait, Teeth-” Namjoon started. “You can’t apparate inside of Hogwarts, and what do you mean we’re-”
“ No more questions, handsome boy! Go! ” Teeth snapped her fingers and Taehyung felt his stomach twist and pull sideways. He’d never appeared before, but sure enough, Taehyung’s entire body and soul was flipped sideways and shoved through space. He could only describe it as being melted and stretched, then as suddenly as it started, he was dumped onto hard pavement.
He could feel Namjoon groan next to him, and multiple arms were on his shoulders, helping him stand.
“Mr—------are y—--kay?-----it do—-ase,” Voices spoke in pieces, and Taehyung was certain he could hear someone throwing up nearby. He rubbed his eyes and blearily looked around, finding himself in the Headmistress’s office. McGonagall was holding his shoulder, looking into his eyes and asking him far away questions. There were a few aurors sitting around, a few holding Namjoon who was bent over. That’s where the puke sound came from.
“Mr.Kim!” She spoke sternly, snapping Taehyung from his shock. “I said, can you understand me?”
“Y-yes Headmistress.”
“What happened? How did you apparate here?”
“A-a house elf. She found us. She said it wasn’t safe and sent us here- wait, no-that means she isn’t safe! Headmistress, please, send someone to find her, scour the castle, she can’t be safe either-”
“Mr.Kim, I am certain a Hogwarts house elf can take care of herself. If she protects you from whatever it is she deems dangerous, then she can flee too. What were you running from?”
“The killer I think. He’s been in my dreams, I haven’t slept in weeks-” Taehyung said, noticing he was shaking. A nearby auror was listening, a man with a mustache.
“Ralph, fetch Sybil. Mr.Kim may be having prophetic visions. What else, go on?”
The Ralph man walked away, and a few other aurors brought Namjoon to the step Taehyung sat on.
“I dreamt that death was out of the tapestry. He’s never left the tapestry. I woke up, and panicked, and I think I shot a spell at the wall. I normally would feel okay, but I didn’t. Something was there, or here, watching me. I don’t feel safe. We need help. Something’s happening.”
The Headmistress gave one of the nearby aurors a look, and she smoothed Taehyung’s hair down.
“You. . . you are correct Mr.Kim, but something already did happen. Louis, please get Mr.Jung, Mr.Jeon, and Mr.Park here at once. They’ll want to be here for their friend. Get Mr. and Mrs. Kim here, first thing in the morning. I want constant surveillance on Mr.Kim here, I believe he is being targeted for the next attack.”
“Headmistress, please-” Namjoon croaked. “What’s happening?”
Headmistress McGonagall gave them a pitying look, then sighed.
“Tonight, in the infirmary, there was another attack. Professor Kim Seok Jung was targeted again. A cursed knife, one that would fly forever till it struck his heart.”
“ No -” Taehyung whispered.
“It’s okay, he is alive thanks to his brother, Mr.Kim Seokjin. He stopped the knife with a quick spell, but he maintained a small cut on his arm. He’s being treated in my private office as we speak.”
“Headmistress, what will we do?” Namjoon asked, terror in his eyes. Taehyung had never seen him so scared.
“I wish to shut the school down, but the Ministry has denied my request. They will send a hundred aurors and guards to us tomorrow morning. Seok Jung is being removed from staff and sent away for his own safety.”
“But why? It’s clear it isn’t safe here, we can’t remain open-”
“Student’s parents can decide to pull them out, but the Ministry Department of Education refuses my requests. I haven’t a clue why, and if they were of sound mind they’d listen. Something dark is happening here at Hogwarts boys, we need to tread carefully. No one is trustworthy, and until whoever is behind this is caught, we need to keep a close eye out. . .”
