Hogwarts : The Bangtan Episode
Summary
Jungkook is a first year at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Haunted by ghosts of his past, he struggles to meet friends and fit in until a ray of sunshine Slytherin, and a Hufflepuff with infinite hair colors step in. Throw in a genius (but people-stupid) Ravenclaw, a terrifying and maybe evil Slytherin who just wants to sleep, a Hufflepuff who is all fun and games until he tries to hurt you on the quidditch field, and a Prefect who's face lives up to it's name, and you've got yourself Jungkook's new life.I wonder what would happen if bad people started lurking and doing bad things around our beloved ragtag social project.Their ages are totally not accurate to book ages, so just make them older teens in your head.

Kim Taehyung and Skipping Stones

“Guys! Guys!” Namjoon panted, jogging into the shady clearing. Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung all looked up, confused at why the fourth year was so disheveled. “He’s teaching! He’s finally teaching!”

“What Joon Hyung?” Jungkook asked, completely disregarding the homework he had in favor of Namjoon. “Are you okay? Is everything all right?”

Taehyung caught Jimin rolling his eyes in the background, and fought back a giggle.

“I’m fine Kook, but it’s Professor Kim! He’s teaching.

“That’s what he does, Namjoon,” Jimin said with an annoyed tone. “He’s a teacher .”

“No, I mean like, actual teaching! He’s not just going to make us read from textbooks!”

“What?” Taehyung replied, sitting up.

“It’s true! Hoseok and I were just there. He stormed into the room and made all the tables and chairs move, then demanded to know if we were finished with our homework. He got all disappointed when he realized not many had actually read it all, so he said we have two days before ‘the real’ class begins.”

“The real class?” Jimin asked, eyes narrowed in confusion.

“I think he’s going to make us duel,” Namjoon said, eyes twinkling in excitement.

“Duel?” Jungkook replied, face a little pale.

Duel, ” Jimin responded, sighing. “Just what I need now. Shit tons of homework, all so I can lose to some Gryffindor with a trigger happy spell.”

“If it makes you feel any better, I can be the trigger happy Gryffindor,” Jungkook said slyly, winking at Jimin. Jimin sneered and sent a firework from his wand at Jungkook’s head.

“Hey, hey! Break it up-” Namjoon moved in between the two as soon as Jungkook began to send charms back, stopping them from burning the forest down. “Dueling or not, you three have serious reading to get to. You’ve never dueled before, so you’ll need all the preparation you need to-”

“They’ll be fine. It’s just dueling,” Yoongi said from close to the water. He had been there the entire time, choosing not to say or be part of the group. Taehyung wasn’t sure why he was there, but Jimin seemed happy about it.

“Hyung! You’re here!” Namjoon called, shocked to see his best friend.

I’d rather not be, ” Yoongi muttered, throwing a rock into the water.

“What made you decide to come here? All my invitations finally got through to you?” Namjoon asked, sitting down on his usual rock to begin homework.

“Something like that.”

Taehyung didn’t miss how Jimin smugly smiled and sat down. Something had definitely happened between the two, and he was determined to find out.

The group settled into their normal study time, quiet for the most part. Yoongi stayed by the water, choosing not to do any work while the rest frantically read from dusty textbooks. A few stray leaves fell from time to time, landing on Taehyung’s books and clothes, distracting him. The wind would tussle his hair, sending his currently red locks into a messy lop. Taehyung tried, he really did, but he just could not find interest in Pogrebins or Murtlaps. He wished he was on the curses section of his book, but that wasn’t for another hundred pages, and watching Yoongi chuck stones into the still lake was much more interesting.

Jimin and Jungkook began bickering again, and that was Taehyung’s cue to leave. Closing his book, he quietly stood and walked towards Yoongi. While on his way he grabbed a stone off the ground, then sat next to the Slytherin.

“Hi,” Taehyung said, intently watching Yoongi’s side profile.

“I won’t help you with your homework. I don’t babysit first years.”

“I’m a second year.”

“Wow, so much better.

Taehyung kept watching Yoongi, trying to get a read on him. He had little to work with, the cold and uncaring frown into the distance, the wind swept black hair, the narrowed black eyes, and cat like demeanor.

“How’d you meet Namjoon Hyung?” Taehyung asked, hoping that would open the floor for the elder to talk to him.

“Does it matter?” Yoongi replied, throwing another rock. “It’s in the past.”

“I’d like to know.”

Yoongi turned towards Taehyung and stared at him, glaring almost. Taehyung held his ground, not backing down from the creepy eye contact. He seemed to be debating sharing, and Taehyung secretly crossed his fingers behind his back in hope.

“. . . our parents introduced us.” Yoongi promptly turned back to the water, and threw another rock.

“When?” Taehyung urged, hoping for more.

“. . . what does it matter?”

Taehyung frowned. This was going nowhere. Taking his rock, Taehyung threw it sideways, making it skip three times across the water before sinking into the lake. Yoongi only blinked, before confusedly turning back to him.

“What was that? Did you curse it?”

“No,” Taehyung shrugged.

“Then what did you do to it?”

“I skipped it.”

Skipped? How long have you been able to do that?”

Taehyung smiled wide.

“Does it matter?

Yoongi huffed in defeat.

“Fine. My parents are big believers in that Pureblood shit. Namjoon’s family happens to fit their bill. When we were little my dad met his dad, the moms met then, and finally they made us have ‘playdates’. I don’t like people, so when we started Hogwarts it was always just Namjoon and I.”

Taehyung nodded.

“Skipping stones, it’s a muggle thing. My dad taught me how to do it when I was ten. It’s all in which stone you have and how you throw it. Here-” Taehyung picked another stone off the ground and showed Yoongi how he threw it. After a few tries, Yoongi was able to make his own rock jump once, and he lightly smiled.

“I’m Kim Taehyung by the way.”

“. . . Min Yoongi.”

Taehyung beamed, ecstatic with the progress he’d made. No one could resist his Hufflepuff charm.

*CRACK*

A beam of white light hit the tree next to them, leaving a large burn mark behind. Both boys’ heads turned towards the spells source, a mischievous Gryffindor who was busy playing spell-tag with a squealing Slytherin second year.

“JUNGKOOK STOP IT!” Jimin laughed, diving behind a tree as another charm was sent his way.

“NEVER!” Jungkook roared, following Jimin and chasing him out into the clearing. Jimin managed to block many spells flying at him, but every now and again one would rebound, flying right at Namjoon. The older Ravenclaw paid no mind, he sat reading his book, an invisible force field protecting him.

Jimin yelled “ Verdimillious!” and bright green sparks crashed into Jungkook, toppling him over. Laughing too hard, Jimin couldn’t see Jungkook’s counter “ Incendio!” which lit his robes on fire for a second.

Taehyung giggled from his spot by the water, laughing at his best friends. Yoongi was silent, but suddenly whispered.

Watch this-” With a quick flick of his wand, Namjoon’s forcefield flickered and went out, all without his notice. Taehyung gasped, holding back giggles as Yoongi smirked, rolling up his sleeves. “ Aguamenti!”

Namjoon was doused in water, flattening his hair and soaking his robes. He sputtered, angrily wiping his glasses off.

“Hyung! Come on! You know I hate it when I get wet-” Namjoon’s whining was interrupted when a tiny spurt of water splashed him in the face, courtesy of Taehyung’s quiet spell.

“Was that how you do that? I’ve never learned it before,” Taehyung said, looking at Yoongi hopefully. Yoongi smiled, showing his gummy teeth while he nodded.

“Exactly. Now just hold your wand a little higher and say it with more focus-”

Aguamenti! ” Taehyung’s wand exploded in a fast jet of water, crashing into Namjoon and throwing him off his seat. Taehyung wasn’t in control though, and the kickback threw him backwards into the lake behind them.

Laughing, Taehyung was too busy to notice Jungkook sneaking up on them. He sent a quick spell towards a defenseless Taehyung, only for it to be promptly stopped by a smiling Yoongi.

Jungkook sent a few more spells, each aimed differently, but Yoongi stopped them all. He laughed as he stood in front of Taehyung, blocking each spell with a simple wave of his wand in quick succession. Jungkook quickly realized he was out of his league when Yoongi started walking forward while blocking the hexes.

“AH! JIMINIE, HELP ME!” Jungkook squealed, diving behind a log for protection as Yoongi started rebounding the hexes. Jimin joined Jungkook, and both boys launched stun after stun towards the fifth year.

Taehyung watched in awe as Yoongi smiled his way through the attacks, easily defending himself and Taehyung with block after block. Finally, he seemed to grow tired, and aimed one of Jimin’s curses into their log.

With a loud crack, the log split in two, revealing the hidden attackers. Yoongi wasted no time in flicking his wand in a complex pattern, and yelling “ Rictusempra!”

Both Jungkook and Jimin were hit with the spell, falling onto their backs in loud, breath-taking laughter . They squealed and writhed on the ground while Yoongi turned and helped Taehyung out of the lake.

“Hyung! That was so cool! You’re the best dueler I’ve ever seen!” Taehyung gushed, holding onto Yoongi’s arm and jumping up and down.

“Have you ever seen an actual duel?” Yoongi asked with a chuckle.

“No, but I can just tell. You’re the bomb!”

“Uh, what?”

“Nothing, just a muggle expression-”

“HyUNnG! Pl-ahahHHAHAHHAH- PLEASE STOP!” Jimin squealed, still rolling on the ground next to a near crying Jungkook.

“YyyYEAH! HAHHHAHAHAHGHAAHAHHAHAH! STOP!” Jungkook added, clutching his sides.

Yoongi rolled his eyes, removing the curse and letting the younger boys go.

“What was that spell Hyung?” Taehyung asked, watching the boys recover.

“Rictusempra. Tickling spell. Rather effective in duels, but often overlooked-”

“Hey! What’s going on down there?!” A loud voice called, and footsteps crunched on the leaves, getting closer to their group.

“Great. Here comes the fun police ,” Yoongi hissed.

Seokjin came marching into the clearing, followed by Hoseok. The two Prefects had their wands ready, and they were breathing hard like they came running.

“What’s the meaning of this! We heard word of a fight starting here, loud bangs and sounds could be heard from the courtyard!”

“It wasn’t really anything we just-” Jungkook started but Jin shook his head.

“Jungkook, you know better than getting into spell fights on school grounds! You could’ve been hurt or-”

“He’s fine. We all are,” Yoongi responded, which froze Jin in place. It was no secret throughout the school that the two Prefects didn’t like one another, and it was always a scene when they had to interact.

“Min.”

“Kim.”

“Yeah?”

“Me?”

“Who?”

A series of responses from Taehyung, Namjoon, and Jin responded, and Yoongi groaned.

“Kim Seokjin! Idiots!” The tension was no lower, and everyone still stood stiff and bristled.

“Were you encouraging fights among students?” Jin asked, pointing his wand at Yoongi.

“No, we were just. . .” Yoongi took his wand out too. “ Practicing.”

“Practicing?! What in the name of Merlin would you need to-”

“For Professor Kim’s class in two days. We worry he’ll enforce the dueling club again,” Namjoon said from his spot on the rocks. He was still soaking wet, so much so that he had removed his outer robes and glasses. His white undershirt was plastered to his skin, and he was wringing his blue tie out.

Jin paused a second, before hastily sending a spell at Namjoon. His clothes dried quickly, like he had been thrown in an oven.

“Put your uniform back on and get inside. We aren’t supposed to be outside now. Go on, get to your classes or common rooms before I take house points away!”

Jungkook and Jimin groaned, gathering their things and scampering off into the woods. Hoseok smiled sympathetically at Taehyung, before walking with Namjoon back towards the castle. Jin frowned as Taehyung and Yoongi grabbed their things. Yoongi sent a quick drying spell so Taehyung wasn’t going to freeze in the autumn air. Together, the three started walking back in awkward silence.

Well, silence for a few seconds.

What were you thinking!? Dueling? In the woods?!” Jin hissed, trying to whisper, but failing to do so.

It wasn’t dueling, it was target practice for the first and second years. I only used the tickling spell.”

“SURE! SURE! And I didn’t see the burn marks on the trees or the exploded logs. I may be a Gryffindor but I am not stupid!”

“Well, you’re always acting stupid, so are you sure?”

“Whatever Min. What’s important is that no one is hurt. Just because you don’t want this job doesn’t mean you can do everything in your power to get fired from it.”

“Watch me.”

“Oh, please, I am.”

“Prick.”

“Childish.”

“Idiot.”

“Imbecile.”

“Imbecile? What is this, a vocabulary test?”

“Shut up, it’s a good comeback.”

“Maybe for a ninety year old warlock on his deathbed.”

“Ugh! Why are you so annoying! You never listen, you’re rude, you don’t even come to the Prefect meetings-”

“Nothing happens in those anyway.”

“Well, unluckily for you, something did happen! That was why I was coming to find you.”

“What now? Another first year I ‘supposedly’ tripped?”

“No, though you do need to stop doing that. There’s been a breakout.”

“. . . what?”

“It’s everywhere in the Daily Prophet. From Azkaban. Two ex-death eaters, both arrested after the Battle of Hogwarts years ago.”

“Who?”

“Jameson and Lee.”

“Lee? Like-”

“Yes, that Lee. That’s why the Headmistress is putting Hogwarts on lockdown for the next week, till after Thanksgiving break. We’re to stay here over break and install protective enchantments around the castle grounds. Just in case he comes for-”

“That’s enough.” Yoongi glanced backwards, noticing Taehyung was still with them. “Hey Tae, I’ll see you around okay?”

Taehyung swallowed, nodding his head and running off into the castle.

He had a lot to tell Jimin and Jungkook.
