James was more excited than usual to get back to Hogwarts.
He loved his home in Potter Manor but after everything that happened this summer, he thought that things would feel more normal there.
He tried not to think.about that night too much.
How Sirius showed up half dead at his door.
How even a week after he did he was barely able to speak. How scared he was...
James shook his head as if he could physically shake the memory away.
"You alright prongs?" Sirius asked looking concerned
"I'm Fine mate " James quickly responded giving a cheeky smile "Just thinking of how we are gonna put the map to use"
A light sparked in Sirius's eyes
"Oh yeah, of course, I have a few ideas but we have to talk to moony he's the real mastermind "
"Of course of course"
"What map," Euphemia asked cocking a brow in mock sterness
The boys turned to another and simultaneously blurted
"Nothing!"
Fleamont laughed at thins and gave them a wink
" Oh come on now Mia you know these lads are good as gold. They won't be caught causing any mischief this year"
Euphimia laughed at this and brought them in for a hug and a kiss on the forehead
Whispering
"Be good" as she did so
The boys said goodbye and practically sprinted to the train.
James wasn't entirely sure how things would go down.
Or how much of the story Sirius was willing to share with Peter and Remus.
