I said, She said, He said, They said

She lets him buy her a drink.
But that's it.

"An arm away, Tom."
She says not even looking at him when he tries to lean closer.
He doesn't seem too affected by her denial.
But she sees the slight twitch in the corner of his mouth.

And the next Saturday he's there again.
Buying her a glass of her favorite Merlot.

"Yes, sweetheart. An arm away."

Hermione can't tell when her defense melts. But one late evening he's too close again.
And as she puts up a hand to push him further, he laughs
Takes her wrist and sucks a finger in his mouth. Never breaking eye contact.

"Are you sure, darling?"

The full glass falls staining the whole table red. But she has already apparated them away.
