it's you and me (until the end)
Summary
James always knew his passion was in music. He knew he was born to make it and when he met his best friends it was meant to be, they were meant to be what they are today: a famous band, just four friends doing what they love the most. He knew he would never want something as much as he wanted to perform live.Or at least that was until an evening in France when he met a lovely man with stars in his eyes, now he wanted nothing more than to get his name.

Ain't nothing new

This is not what he was expecting to happen when he knocked on that door. He just wanted to talk, they haven’t been able to since a couple of days ago. Between rehearsals and, well, their own shock really, they were just busy and maybe avoiding each other.

But oh well, now he is here.

Regulus between his thighs doing sinful things to James.

James genuinely only wanted to talk to him, clarify some things and just talk to Regulus, would it be stupid to say that he missed him? Regulus has a way to make his presence known, tell that to James. The moment they knew they were going to be on the same tour, James wasn't able to ignore that fact. They only talked for a moment before he went onto stage and then he just banished.

When he knocked, Barty was about to leave Regulus’ room, he was laughing and Regulus was rolling his eyes and pushing him to get out, Barty just smiled and winked at James. He will never admit it, but he was jealous. Barty’s been spending a lot of time with Regulus and it is not as if James knew how their dynamic worked but he wanted to be with him too, to talk and just be near him. They met again and this time they are going to be together for a long time or at least as long as the tour lasts. The point is that he was jealous because it was terribly early and Barty was leaving his star’s room, meaning that he most likely spent the night there. So when Regulus looked at James waiting to know why he was there, James just started bickering about anything . Regulus kept looking at him with no expression on his face, which made James mad, leading to him rambling about the day at the show and how he is okay talking to anybody -that’s not true, Regulus only talks to Evan, Barty and sometimes Lily and Pandora- but James. It was when he started asking about how he knew Sirius, his best friend, that Regulus kissed him and one thing led to another and now they are here.

And look, James is definitely not complaining, like at all. Regulus fucking knows what he is doing, it is driving James to the peak of insanity, feeling addicted to this, to him . Regulus is beautiful, he has long and abundant lashes, as well as thick eyebrows, his eyes are a shade of grey that could be blue, and his mouth… God, his mouth is sinful. Makes James want to sin day and night.

Reg ,” he moans, oblivious to the fact that he called him Reg. Regulus goes faster and James swears that he sees stars as the one that’s on his knees right now.

Once he comes undone, he returns Regulus the favour, enjoying it as much as he enjoyed Regulus. There is certain beauty in how Regulus just feels , there are no masks, no pretending, he just crumbles underneath him.

Afterwards, they just lay in Regulus’ bed, processing what happened. James is happy to be near him again, besides this brings him a peace, he feels like he can just be and that’ll be okay. He has only found that with Sirius and Lily, now with Regulus his anxious self is relaxed and his thoughts aren’t all over the place. He feels at ease with him and to James, that is worth keeping around.

“You gotta go,” Regulus says and his peace is broken.

“What? Why?”

“What do you mean why?” Regulus asks him instead and sits in his bed. “This can’t happen again, James.”

“Why?”

“It just can’t .”

“That’s not enough of a reason, Regulus,” he says and Regulus looks at him.

“It's so weird to hear you say my name, tu vas me manquer en m'appelant un étoilé,” his voice sounds sad, but it doesn’t last long, because he gets up and starts getting dressed. “You really have to go now, James. Please just leave,” he’s so polite about it, James has no other choice than to do what he’s been asked. He has the suspicion that he may do anything Regulus asks him, even leaving.

“Just know,” James starts saying when he is by the door. “That I’m not going to give this up,” he looks Regulus in the eyes. “I’ll keep trying and we are going to talk, Star.”

He sees how Regulus flinches when he hears the nickname. But how can he not? He is the most precious star he’s ever seen, full of light and life, hiding in all the darkness that surrounds him.

“God, you are so beautiful,” it’s the last thing James says before turning around and leaving the room.

On the way to his room he can’t help but grin, deep down he is sad that Regulus kicked him out, but - but - he was serious, he is not going to stop until they talk about what the hell is going on. Whatever Regulus has, James knows is everything he wants. And he is also smiling because of what happened, he won’t deny that he wants it to happen again. There’s something about Regulus that makes James want more, he wants everything or nothing, whatever Regulus is willing to give him, James would be happy and he would treasure it.

“What makes you smile so much?” a voice asks him, but he is to immerse on his own thoughts -about Regulus, of course-, that he doesn’t notice when Marlene walks past him. “James?”

“Oh, sorry, Marls, didn’t see you there,” he apologises and she gives him a confused smile because she is literally standing in front of him.

“You are happy today,” she states. “Is it because we are in France? You always are beaming when we are here.”

It is true, everytime he is in France he is happy all the time. France reminds him of the night when he met the prettiest, sharpest star. Although he always tried to search for him, everytime he would go to the same café they met, he never dared to go to his apartment because he didn’t want to frighten him. He hoped life was going to bring them together the same way.

And now he is here with them. Shit, he is here, isn’t him?

“Holy shit, you are like this because of him!” Marlene beams.

“How could I not? I’ve been looking for him for years. Years!” Marlene just laughs

“You know, I haven’t talked to him properly. Lily has and she likes him, and you know when that girl likes someone, there is no going back. Even so, I need to approve of him, James.”

Marlene and James were really close growing up, he was like a brother to her. When Sirius and Lily came along, they started to drift apart, but never broke that link. He is still there whenever she needs him, she is still there whenever he needs her. It was hard when James and Lily broke up, but she never did choose one, she was equally there for them for a couple of months. Months they much needed to go through the heartbreak and Marlene just held them when they needed her.

Yeah, Marlene’s opinion is very important to him, she is his best girl friend.

“You’ll get the chance, I bet,” he shrugs.

“I’ll make sure of it,” she smiles wickedly and James shakes his head. He loves her.

There are still a couple of hours before they have to go soundcheck at the venue, so James decides to go to Regulus’ room again, this time with a proposition. He is determined to get a yes, even if it means to annoy him a little.

“No,” it’s what Regulus says as soon as he opens the door and sees it is James. He tries to close the door but James is fast enough to put his foot so it won’t close.

“You didn’t even let me say anything!” James protests.

“Didn’t have to, the answer is still no.”

“Come on, Star,” James tries. “Let me take you out and see the city,” he pleads.

“The city that I lived in for most of my life? That city?” Regulus deadpans him.

“Okay, true,” James chuckles and scratches the back of his head, then pushes his glasses up again. “Just… please, Reg.”

Something shifts in his eyes, not on the rest of his face, no that remains the same, but his eyes, they darken as well as sparkle.

“Alright, we’ll go out, but I choose where to go,” Regulus says and he moves from the door to go grab a jacket. James waits for him patiently. “Let’s go,” Regulus says.

“I just have one demand,” he says and Regulus just turns to look at him, not saying anything but his eyes doing all the talking. “I get to choose one place we go to.”

“Whatever,” Regulus shrugs.

When they are walking through the same corridor he ran into Marlene earlier, this time it is Remus and Lily. They are chatting until they spot them, they look at each other and then to them again.

“Hello, Regulus, James,” Remus says, nodding his head towards them.

“Are you going out?” Lily asks them.

“Yeah,” James grins. Lily smiles then looks at Regulus and back at James a couple times.

Oh ,” she says, widening her eyes.

“Not like that,” Regulus scowls. Remus, who's been quiet, laughs a little but tries to hide it by covering his mouth with his hand and looking the other way. James turns confused to see Regulus who has a faint blush on his cheeks. “We are leaving,” he says and takes James’ wrist and pulls him when he starts walking.

They -Regulus- decide to walk where they are going, there is no better way to appreciate the city if you are driving or in a car. James trusts Regulus, at the end of the day, he did live here for most of his life, he knows what he is doing. They talk while they walk, well, James does, Regulus listens and nods, every now and then shares his opinion, but he mainly listens. James tells him about how his friends told him he was stupid that he didn’t ask him for his number neither of the both times they have seen each other.

“I don’t think I would’ve given it to you,” Regulus says, not looking at James.

“Why?” James asks. “I mean, I get that you didn’t want me to know your name, I get the point of that and I loved it, but you didn’t have to tell me for me to get your phone,” James explains. “I probably wouldn't have saved you as ‘Regulus’, if you told me or not,” this seems to catch Regulus' attention because now he turns his head to look at James for a couple of seconds, just to turn it away again.

“How would you have saved me then?” James smiles as the idea pops into his head.

“Give me your number and you’ll know,” James says and smiles even harder when Regulus starts laughing and shaking his head. James knows Regulus isn’t a person who smiles often -even less, laughs- so when he does, he knows it is precious and important, almost as a blessing of some kind.

“That, that is the worst way someone has asked me for my number,” Regulus manages to say once he is done laughing.

“It is not. And you know it,” James winks at him and Regulus' cheeks blush a little, making him turn away, trying to hide it. “So? Will you give me your number?”

“What is the point? We are going to be together almost all the time, James, we are touring for a couple of months,” Regulus’ voice changes, it is not playful as before and he knows, there is no longer a smile there.

“Yeah, almost . An important key word, Regulus.”

Regulus looks at him with a grimace on his face. Oh. Maybe Regulus doesn’t want to spend that much time with him, well it’s okay. James can manage to make it enough, it is better than having to wait a couple more years for them to meet again, in fact, the time they have together is going to be more than enough in comparison to nothing. Yes, James can make it enough. As long as they can talk and walk around like they are doing right now or hug, he would like to hug Regulus, maybe even kiss him? James would very much like to kiss Regulus from now and then. And things like in the morning? Okay, he can’t live without it, but he wouldn’t deny it if the opportunity presents itself. Whatever Regulus offers him it’s going to be enough. More than enough, he will be thankful with every little thing that happens. Hey, he’s even thankful right now, they are just walking and not even holding hands… it’d be nice to hold Regulus’ hand, he bets his hand is cold. He is always cold. Why is he always cold?

“I’m not sure I like it when you call me Regulus,” the other boy says, interrupting James’ train of thoughts. “I mean,” he sighs and James waits patiently for him to continue talking. “I do like it and the way you say it, but I don’t like that it wasn’t me who told you,” Regulus shakes his head and James gets it, the disappointment. It was supposed to be theirs, their thing, their moment, their promise.

“I get it,” James says nodding his head, Regulus looks at him, his eyes asking. “Yeah, of course I do, they, my friends, wouldn’t get it even if I tried to explain it. What has happened with us, it is not normal, it is special and for me it’s been a feeling that only happens once in a lifetime. Maybe two now, but it’s still with you, does that make sense?”

Regulus looks at him, eyes meeting each other, a knowing shared past flashing on them. “Yeah it does,” Regulus nods and continues walking. James doesn’t even know when they stopped walking.

“Oh my God!” A scream makes them turn around. “C’est James Potter!” a group of three friends approach them, James automatically smiles at them and steps forward, unconsciously protecting Regulus with his body, making a barrier between him and the girls. They look young, around sixteen and eighteen years old. “Bonjour! I mean, hi!” the girl says, she has a thick French accent.

“Bonjour,” James says. He’s been learning a bit of French since he met Regulus, he asked Sirius if he could teach him and now he just knows the basics. “Comme un ça va?” he asks them and the girls giggle.

“Ça va et toi?” she replies. Before he can answer, another girl starts talking.

“Je suis désolé de vous interrompre, nous voulions juste vous dire bonjour et vous faire savoir que nous vous verrons au concert ce soir.,” she says something in french that James can’t quite understand. He is going to have to ask Sirius for more lessons. But right now he has no clue what the girl said.

“She is apologising for the interruption and that she wanted to say hi, they’ll be at the concert tonight,” Regulus says behind him. James turns to look at him and gives him a smile.

“Thanks,” he mutters and turns to the girls again. “We’ll see you three tonight,” James tells them and two of the girls look at the one on their left.

“She… uh, she doesn’t have tickets,” the one in the middle informs him.

“Oh,” he says, feeling sad, he really loves his fans, they mean a lot to him and watching this girl sad about it is crushing him. “What’s your name?” James asks her.

“Natalie,” she says.

“Nice to meet you, Natalie,” he says and looks at the rest. “Do you want a photo?” he asks them. He has a plan. He tells the girls to post the picture two hours before the show and they all just nod.

Regulus is kind enough to take them the picture, then one of the girls recognizes him. “Vous faites partie du nouveau groupe,” a girl hits her arm and gives her a look. “Sorry, I said that you are part of the new band,” she says and the accent is so strong it sounds like she is still speaking french.

“Oui, ravi de vous rencontrer,” he says with a perfect french accent. Just perfect, James can’t do this right now. Regulus looks at him quickly and then goes, “nous devons partir maintenant. Profite du spectacle,” they start walking again and the giggles and screams can be heard as they leave them behind.

James starts recognising the streets the more the walk and he can’t help the warm feeling in his chest. He smiles and this time he may be the one blushing because Regulus is taking them to the café where they met years ago.

“Star? Where are you taking me?” James asks.

“You know where,” Regulus says and just moves his eyes to look at him. He never let himself look at him for long.

When they arrive at the café, they sit on the table inside the place and the farthest away from the door, a habit James had to develop over the years. They continue talking and drinking their beverage, James laughs as much as Regulus rolls his eyes. Talking to him has always been so easy, one of the many reasons James is so drawn to him. They did put an alarm for when they have to head back, because they have a record of forgetting time when they are close to each other, and even though it is one of the things James likes the most, they can’t afford losing time right now.

“Will you give me your number then?” James asks out of nowhere, not even close to the topic they were talking about (which was whether the Lightning McQueen looked better in blue or red, a very serious debate if you ask him).

“Ugh,” Regulus groans. “Thought you’d forget about it.”

“I will never forget about it,” James says and tilts his head. “Tell me you aren’t curious about how I’ll save you,” Regulus hesitates. “That’s what I thought, now give me,” he points to his phone that is on the table.

“Not yet,” Regulus says and grabs his phone to keep it in his pocket.

“But you will,” James says, hoping.

“I will.”

The alarm rings and they look at each other, James smiles and, beautifully, so does Regulus. They walk back to the hotel, this time in complete silence. It is magical the fact that they can do both. The talking and the silence, and both equally peaceful.

It’s when they spot the hotel that Regulus speaks.

“I didn’t think he would be okay with you continuing to talk to me,” he shrugs.

“Uh? Who?” James asks, very confused. Why wouldn’t he continue to talk to Regulus? Who would even forbid it? Regulus frowns.

“Your best friend,” he answers.

“Sirius?” Regulus nods. “Why wouldn’t he be okay?” This is very confusing for James, he knows if Sirius wasn’t okay with him doing something he would have already told him. That’s how they work.

“Oh, lord. You don’t know,” Regulus tilts his head, his frown is gone but certain sadness replaces it.

“Know what?”

“We definitely can’t do this anymore, James,” Regulus avoids the question but James just feels- what? He doesn’t even know how he feels, what the fuck is happening?

“But why? Know what? Regulus, what is going on?” He asks and Regulus just looks at him, all his defences on, just a deadpan.

“You should talk to your best friend, meanwhile, we cannot do this anymore. Whatever this is, it is done, alright? It has to be,” he says and then, “Dieu, ce n'est pas juste,” he almost whispers and keeps walking towards the elevator. James is standing in the lobby feeling like he wasn’t fully on the conversation they just had. Talk to Sirius? What about?

James shakes his head, trying to shake his confusion. He has things he needs to do, like talking to Pandora so the girl he met gets a ticket for tonight’s show. He’s done this before, his team is going to look for the picture they took on Twitter and then contact them, they are going to give them tickets to the best available seats at the venue. Pandora of course agrees with him and contacts the label so they get this thing going, she tells him that as soon as they reach them she is going to tell him.

His next stop is Sirius’ room, he knocks on the door and he hears footsteps approaching from the other side of the door. When they open it, Sirius smiles at him almost as a reflex, the same way James smiles at them.

“Prongs!” They hug him.

“Hello, Pads,” he says and breaks the hug. Sirius moves to the side to let him in. He goes straight to the bed, thankfully Remus isn’t there. “I’ve to ask you something,” James starts saying and Sirius sits next to him.

“Yeah, whatever, what is it?” They say, always open to answer anything James asks. They are like that, never afraid of what the other may ask and most important, of what the answer might be.

“I went to the café today,” James smiles and Sirius looks at him softly, James stands up and starts pacing. “He went with me, it was quite nice, we walked and talked and even stayed in silence. You know me Padfoot, I’m bad at being silent. Anyways, it was really nice and he is funny and listens but also talks and when he does it is meaningful, his laugh is amazing. But when we got here, he just ended it? I’m- I’m not sure what happened if I’m being honest, he just told me that I didn’t know and he told me to talk to you, which I don’t understand to be honest. And now here I am, so what do I not know?” He asks his friend and Sirius is frowning. “Sirius?”

“He ended it because he wanted you to talk to me?” James nods. “That little shit, he could’ve told you but no he’s throwing it to me because he is a little coward, isn’t he?” Sirius gets up and James is just- what? (again).

“What the hell, Sirius?” he asks, frowning and he just doesn't understand people this day. “Honestly, I really don’t care if you tell me or him, just for the love of God, someone has to tell me what is going on,” he begs. Sirius looks at him, really looks at him, searching in his soul through his eyes. Then, starts laughing.

What. The. Fuck.

“Prongs, really? You haven’t noticed?” They sit again on the bed.

“Notice what?”

“Oh you ought to be kidding me, James,” Sirius starts laughing, properly laughing this time, they rest his back on the bed. “Oh, Prongs, you really are blind aren’t you?”

“Oi! My blindness has nothing to do with what is going on… I think. What is going on exactly?”

“I kinda don’t even want to tell you.”

“No, you have to tell me, Sirius. Please, I’m going crazy about this, I feel like I’ll be on the peak of insanity if I don’t understand what is going on. No matter how hard I try to make it make sense, I just can’t,” he talks fast and sits down. “It’s just, we were okay, we even did something in the morning,” Sirius grimaces at that. “And now he just ended it.”

“James, breathe, please,” Sirius tells him and James nods while taking a deep breath. Or several deep breaths. “Do you remember when we were little that I would always talk about my- my brother?” James nods, confused about where this is going. His brain completely gave up on him half an hour ago. “James…” Sirius insists.

“I just- I don’t understand what that has to do with Regu… Oh,” just like that his brain is back on.

It makes sense but at the same time it doesn’t. He can see now that Sirius and Regulus are brothers, the resemblance is there but it isn’t. Not really. Physically maybe, they both are gorgeous but James has never felt about Sirius how he feels about Regulus, that attraction beyond everything. But he has a connection with Sirius that he’s never found anywhere else, with anybody. The way Sirius talks to him and the way Regulus does, the way Sirius listens and the way Regulus does. It is completely different, mainly because they are two different people but it is polar opposites different. Although, if James does think about it, the expressions they do when they think nobody else is looking are pretty similar, also, the way they play the bass like they were born to play it, and the way they both scowl is so similar.

How couldn’t he see it before?

The answer was always in front of him and he just decided to not acknowledge it. Why?

“He is my brother, James,” Sirius manages to say at last. The way they say it is fucking heartbreaking, so much happened between them that not even James knows the whole story but he knows it was fucked up because for a long time, Sirius Black lost his light. It was painful to watch back then, even Effie and Monty were involved at some point, for them too, it was painful to watch how their son lost all of what made them, well, them.

Eventually, Sirius started coming back to life, not even realising he wasn’t living fully. Moony helped a lot that time, him and James were the only ones that managed to make Sirius smile. Then Peter and Lily started hanging around more at the house, then Marlene and Mary. Around a year after that, the Potter’s was always full, teenagers going around the place, full of love, full of life.

“I think he hates me, Prongs,” Sirius says and a tear rolls down his cheek and they clean it as fast as it appeared. “And, to be honest, I think I do too. But not really,” he inhales and exhales with a shaky breath. “God, I don’t even know how to feel about all of this. Him touring with us. His presence is everywhere we go now. Him being your star…” they sigh. “I don’t… I don’t know how to feel about that, Prongs. You are my best friend, my freaking soulmate, and he is- he is here, again in my life for a reason I can’t understand,” James is about to say something but Sirius shakes their head, meaning that he isn’t done. “I don’t like the fact that it is Regulus, James. But that doesn’t mean that I will make you choose,” Sirius looks him straight into his eyes, and James knows that it is genuine. Sirius is talking from the heart, he has given this some deep thought and this is his conclusion. “You’ve searched for him for years now, every time you talked about that night you’d smile, the kind of smile that I’ve only seen happen with Lily and that tells me a lot,” James feels his cheeks heat because it is a big deal, Lily was who he thought was the love of his life, make a comparison like that it’s something James isn’t ready to embrace. “I need you to know that I will never take that happiness away from you,” Sirius says solemnly. Frankly? James could cry with the look his friend is giving him. “I love you, James, nothing will ever change that.”

James does cry the moment Sirius pulls him for a hug. Sirius also cries. They stay that way until someone comes to get them so they go to the venue. They do talk about what this all means, how Sirius feels about seeing his brother again after so many years. Sirius tells him that a part of him is incredible happy and proud to see the man that Regulus has become, another part is sad that he missed it, that he wasn’t there for his first kiss or his first love, other part is just angry, both at himself and at Regulus, that they allowed it to happen this way. But then again, the last time they saw each other, they said things that hurt the other for them not to see each other again. It is pretty confusing to understand feelings you don’t want to acknowledge. James listens to Sirius, whatever they have to say, he listens and strokes his hair. Sirius has always loved when people carases his hair, brings him comfort and right now it is the best thing that James can do for them.

When they get to the venue, James is already fucking tired. It’s been a crazy day. However, the cheers and screams that can be heard from outside of the venue is what helps him to motivate. He is lost in his head, though. Can’t stop himself from driving in circles about Regulus being Sirius’ brother.

Lily approaches him and offers him a sweet smile, but James knows she wants to ask what is going on. They may not be a couple anymore, but they sure know the other. James shakes his head, smiling, telling her without words that he’s okay. She of course doesn’t believe him because for the rest of the day she stays with him. She even gets her makeup done in The Marauders room, none of the guys mind as this has happened before. It is nice, James thinks, that even though they broke up, they can still be close and not make it awkward. He doesn’t think he would’ve survived Lily Evans walking out of his life.

He also gets dressed up and Emmeline puts makeup on him, he has been telling her to teach him how to do it so he can do it on a regular basis, but as now, she’s only successfully taught Remus how to do eyeliner. James suspects that Sirius also knows but prefers Remus doing it for him.

A knock on the door distracts them from getting ready and then Pandora is walking into the room. “I’ve come to let you know that we did reach them and they are here,” Pandora smiles and so does James. He knew she’d do anything in her power to make it happen.

“Thank you,” she just smiles and squeezes his shoulder. She is a petite woman, but he is sitting down so it is easier for her to reach him.

“Anytime,” she says. “I have to tell The Sekans that they are up in ten.”

“I’ll go with you,” James says and Lily looks at him, he avoids looking back.

Pandora and him walk to the room of The Sekans, it is not so far from the one of The Marauders, she knocks and Evan opens the door. He sees James and then lets them in. Barty is putting his shirt on and Regulus is ready. He looks so beautiful, his curls are perfect and he’s wearing black trousers and a black silk shirt, it isn’t buttoned all the way up, barely buttoned to his chest. He is going to be the end of James. He walks to him, ignoring the other three people in the room.

“What are you doing here?” Regulus asks, not amused.

“I talked to Sirius,” he says. “And if you think that is going to stop me from whatever was going on between us, you are so wrong, mon étoilé ,” Regulus’ face when James says it is one of the favourite things that he's ever seen. He’s known how to say it for a while now, it was in fact one of the first things he asked Sirius to teach him.

“James, we can’t,” he tries again.

“Give me one good reason, Regulus,” James steps closer. “Tell me that you don’t feel anything right now,” he gestures to the short distance that is between them. “Tell me, Star.”

“Merde,” he lets out. James smiles and backs down, at the movement Regulus looks offended.

“I’ll go because you have to be on stage, but we’ll talk,” James says and starts walking away, then grins and turns to see Regulus who’s still in his place. “Just so you know, a song is about you, I wrote it a while back. You’ll know which one it is,” and he leaves.

He watches The Sekans act, absolutely mesmerised about Regulus, who kept glancing at him and James smirked everytime, watching how that distracted him for a second. James has to admit that Barty has a voice that should be envy, he knows how to sing and looks like he was made to be on a stage. When their set is over, James doesn’t try to talk to Regulus and Regulus doesn’t try either, but he does brush their shoulders when he passes past him, making James smile like a child.

He also watches WOM3N’s act. He is really proud of how far they’ve come, the girls are amazing on their own so when they are together it is powerful, they draw power and it is so intense as well as beautiful. It is intensely beautiful. He can’t wait to hear their next album, he’s worked with them for a couple of songs but beyond that, they are really secretive about it. Nobody but them and some of the producers have heard it.

“France!” Marlene says after their last song. “You should know that we have an established set list,” she says nodding. “But we thought, why not sing ‘The Louvre’ if we are where The Louvre is?”

The lights turn almost orange, pointing at them as if they are an art collection.

Well, summer slipped us underneath her tongue, our days and nights are perfumed with obsession ,” Marlene sings playing her bass. “ Half of my wardrobe is on your bedroom floor, use our eyes, throw our hands overboard, ” it amazes James how the fans know the words to the song, he knows they are here for them too.

I am your sweetheart psychopathic crush ,” there is something about the way Lily sings that is very dearing to James. “ Drink up your movements, still I can't get enough. I overthink your p-punctuation use ,” Lily sings, moving her hands in front of the microphone stand, her lips close to the microphone. “ Not my fault, just a thing that my mind do .”

A rush at the beginning I get caught up, just for a minute ,” Mary starts singing the chorus. “ But lover, you're the one to blame, all that you're doing. Can you hear the violence? ” Mary sings and then along with Lily they sing: “ Megaphone to my chest .”

Broadcast the boom, boom, boom, boom and make 'em all dance to it ,” Marlene sings.

Then the fans sing along with them.

Broadcast the boom, boom, boom, boom and make 'em all dance to it ,” they repeat.

Our thing progresses, I call and you come through, ” Lily sings and James remembers the first time he heard this song, they were still together when she wrote the song. “ Blow all my friendships to sit in hell with you. But we're the greatest, they'll hang us in the Louvre ,” she nods. “ Down the back, but who cares? Still the Louvre ,” she shrugs with a playful smile on her lips.

Okay, I know that you are not my type ,” Mary sings.

Still I fall ,” Lily and Marlene harmonise together.

I'm just the sucker who let you fill her mind, ” Mary sings again.

But what about love? ” Lily harmonises alone this time.

Nothing wrong with it, supernatural, ” Marlene sings. “ Just move in close to me, closer, you'll feel it coasting, ” she smiles the moment the flash of a camera appears.

They sing the chorus again and the way they manage the crowd it’s so different from what The Marauders does. They have the power and the girls know it, the audience knows it too. They finish the song and smile at the crowd, thanking them and wishing them a good night.

Soon enough it is their turn to be on the stage, stepping onto the stage is such an experience that can’t be compared to anything. Every show is different and special in its own way, the crowds are different in each country, honestly, he is obsessed with this feeling. He loves it. Even though they have their own setlist to follow and some special songs every show, he never knows what they’ll get.

“Paris!” he says to his microphone. He remembers there was a time where talking to the microphone felt awkward but now he is used to it. “As you may know or not, this place is very special to me,” the crowd screams and he loves it. “I made one of my favourite memories here, four years ago,” well, if Regulus doesn’t get that this is the song, there’s not much James can do. “Then, I went home and wrote this next song thinking about my time here,” he says and Peter starts playing the beginning of the song, the fans go crazy.

“Please, Paris, if you know the lyrics, sing with us!” Sirius says to his microphone and the lights turn dim.

Your type of mind, so hard to find ,” James starts singing the first verse with his eyes closed. “ Native of mine, you're just my kind ,” he remembers when he started writing this song all he could do was think about a man with curls and stormy eyes. “ Down on my knees, I'll always follow, I promise you until the end of time ,” he wrote this song after the tour was over, which was a month later, at the time, Remus and Sirius were having trouble in their relationship. When James showed the lyrics to Sirius, he immediately jumped in to start writing with him.

Our house on fire, we're burnin', we dance, inside you're hurtin' ,” Peter sings and the fans follow word by word. The lights are now brighter and flashing around them.

If you leave me in the morning, I'll have such a ,” James sings and steps back feeling the music run through his body.

Such a lonely heart, oh, woah, ” Sirius sings the chorus because honestly it sounds magical with his voice, James joins him to harmonise. “ Such a lonely heart, oh, woah ,” the fans sing the second ‘ oh, woah ’ in a perfectly synchronised way that gives James goosebumps. “ If you can't find another reason to stay, then I know I'm gonna always have a lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely heart, ” Sirius sings and James remembers the pain that they were going through when he wrote that part.

Your precious heart, can't watch it break ,” Remus sings and fans go crazy. It is rare when Remus sings, so he gets why they cheer more when it’s his voice. Meanwhile, they harmonise in the background for him.  “ So I'll close my eyes while you walk away, mmm ,” He catches the look that Sirius gives to their boyfriend.

Can I have a second chance? ” James sings and out of curiosity turns to the sides of the stage only to find Regulus there, already looking at him. “ Can I have another dance? Can I start another life with you? Yeah, ” James shrugs like he is actually asking Regulus, because holy shit, he can ask Regulus now, right? “ When I wake up in a haze and I haven't slept in days, you're a thousand miles away, ” James looks to the front, but points to the side where the star is, because he is not miles away, he is only a couple of steps away.

They sing the chorus again, enjoying the way the lights flash and the fans sing with them. James can see a couple of signs in the front, as well as a couple of girls -and boys- crying while still singing and holding their phones up.

“Alright, this next part I want you to sing it after us,” James says to the crowd. “ Lonely, it ain't nothin' new. Nothin' new to me, nothin' new to you . Go!” James takes out his microphone and points it to them.

Lonely, it ain't nothin' new. Nothin' new to me, nothin' new to you, ” the crowd sings alone, the four of them remain silent so they can hear them.

Lonely, it ain't nothin' new. Nothin' new to me, nothin' new to you ,” James sings again to his microphone along with Peter and Sirius, just to point it again to them.

Lonely, it ain't nothin' new. Nothin' new to me, nothin' new to you ,” the fans sing and this is one of his favourite songs to perform for this exact reason, the way they sing back to him and his friends. It is a feeling that he can only have with his fans.

Heart, oh, woah ,” Sirius sings and they jump to the last chorus just to finish the song. The lights go dark and the screams are loud. He simply loves this, this job, this dream. He loves his friends and loves his fans.

After the show ends and he is in his bed resting for the few hours he has before they leave in the morning to their next stop, his phone lights up and he turns to see who it is, because right now it is awfully late and everybody he knows that has his phone number should be asleep. Afraid it may be an emergency, he gets it and looks at the message on the screen.

i liked the song.

James smiles to himself and saves the contact as  prettiest star <3 .
