Hello Again
I woke up the next morning to Harry shaking me this time.
"Mira wake it's trying to kill me?" I jumped up expecting to find to find Fenrir Greyback in the room but once I saw he wasn't I put my head under my pillow like Harry did the night before.
Then suddenly I heard a loud thud. I leaned over the bed and saw he was standing on our magical creatures book.
"Is that truly necessary?" I said feeling bad for the poor book.
"Do you have any better ideas?" Harry said it a smart arse type of way. I grab my wand from the nightstand then I go to lean over the end of the bed and cast "Petrificus Totalus" freeze binding the book. Harry gave me somewhat of an impressed shrug as he got his shoe out of it's mouth.
"Mira did you lock us in?" Harry said annoyed as he tried to open the door while I looked up at him at least trying to hide my annoyance.
" Yes Harry there was a werewolf outside my window" Harry sighed and shook his head trying the door again like it was going to open. I unlocked it simply with "Alohomora" as Harry walked through it putting his jacket on. I wondering if he had forgotten the spell or just wanted to know why the door was locked. As we walked out the room a cat was chasing a rat. Harry followed them and I followed. We started walking towards the stairs when we heard
"I'm warning you. Keep that beast away from Scabbers, or I'll turn it into a tea cozy" Oh joy Hermione and Ron are here.
"It's a cat, Ronald. What do you expect? It's in his nature" Then I started to think of Midnight as Harry was making his way down the stairs with a huge smile on his face. Welp I should get ready to be ignored.
"A cat? Is that what they told you? Looks like a pig with hair" I think it was always just me that thought Ron wasn't very nice especially to Hermione.
"That's rich....coming from the owner of that smelly old shoe brush. Crookshanks, just ignore the mean little boy" Harry stood there waiting for them notice him as I was behind him.
"Harry" Ron noticed him first "Harry" then Hermione after then Harry went and hugged them.
The Ron starting going on about Egypt shoving a newspaper in Harry's face and Hermione actually acknowledged me "Hi Mira" she smiled and I smiled back with a wave. We started to move to the nearest table to sit down.
" Egypt. What's it like?" Harry said once we got settled.
" Brilliant. Loads of old stuff.....like mummies, tombs, even Scabbers enjoyed himself" Sounds like fun as I control myself from rolling my eyes. I don't know why but I've never liked Ron. Hermione I find annoying at times but I don't in any way dislike her in the slightest. Ron's family I like, don't consider them family like Harry seems to but I don't dislike them. But Ron can't stand him.
"Egyptians used to worship cats" Hermione says and I suddenly get sad. Midnight's an Egyptian Mau.
" Along with the dung beetle" That's when I rolled my eyes and made slight eye contact with Hermione until "not flashing that clipping again?" The twins came out of nowhere and they were both obviously passing looks at me. Weird.
"I haven't shown anyone" Fred and George came grabbed the newspaper from Ron. Hermione who I was sitting with got up I suppose to make room for them so I did as well but she went right to Ginny who just came in with her parents. Well I should probably try to go get my schoolbooks. I started to leave when I heard my name behind me and I saw Ginny.
"Hi Mira" Ginny said smiling at me and I gave her a small one with a tilted head.
"Hello" I said not to be rude.
"Hey I just wanted to thank you for last year" She said somewhat nervously or maybe guiltily.
"For what?" I said confused.
"I...wasn't myself and...you really were the only person that noticed" my mouth being shaped in an oh was my answer.
"I'm sorry I didn't do more to help" was all I could think of to say and I did wish I did more but I did try. I tried to tell her brothers but they brushed me off. And I did try to talk to her because I felt something was wrong but she would ignore me but I didn't blame her after I found out or even before.
"No I appreciate everything you did I just wanted to tell you. Where are you going though?" It did feel nice for to hear her say that to me.
"I still have to get my books for school unless I want to share with Harry" I say heading to leave again.
"Ok well be careful with Sirus Black around" I nod and left. I mostly just walked around Diagonally realizing I needed money and to get that I would have to go the Gringotts. And I don't like Gringotts because the goblins are scary and mean. So I just wandered around Diagonally until I heard a meow. I looked down hopeful and saw Midnight next to me completely unscathed.
"Midnight!" I cried out and immediately ducked down to her. I scooped her right up and held her close to me.
"I'm so glad you're alright I was so worried" I held her like a baby and rocked her as I rubbed her stomach. She just purred happily. But I heard something in the alley close by. What is with me and alleyways? But when I looked a black dog came into the light. It was the black dog from before that I saw with Harry. It wasn't as scary this time knowing it didn't hurt Midnight. When I gave the dog a good look it actually had a very sweet disposition. I started to walk towards it until I heard a voice that sent a chill down my spine.
"Well look what we have here boys Pretty Potter all alone ay" Marcus Flint with Adrian Pucey and Graham Montague. How unusual I think sarcastically in my head as I slowly put Midnight down. I started to walk away but I heard them follow not that far behind.
"Come on Pretty Potter we want to play with you" Marcus said deviously as the rest laughed. I turned around and looked at their faces to conclude it was best....to make a run for it.
I knew I couldn't out run them as they were starting to get very close.
"You really think you could out run us Pretty Potter" Marcus said closing in, I had to think fast. I pulled out my wand quickly from my side pocket "Confringo" I aimed for the ground in front of him that he landed on his bum. Adrian and Graham stopped to help him up I kept running almost making it pass a dark alley until something exploded near me making me turn into it.
I'm quickly going down stairs and realize where I am.
Knockturn Alley.
I hear something behind me. "Salvio hexia" I said just as Marcus casted a hex. Though paying attention to blocking it made me loose my footing making me fall down the little stairs that were left with a cry out in pain at the end. My ankle had twisted and now Adrian was close to me about to lift his wand.
"Expelliarmus, Salvio hexia" I quickly casted as Adrian flew back into a wall Marcus kept casting hexes with Graham repeatedly hitting me as I was getting up that I got to the point I didn't have to say Salvio hexia to cast it. I tried to run but they were too close as I was blocking their hexes. I needed to keep moving. I made it behind a cart of goods to block their fire so I could at least cast a defensive spell. They are hitting hexes at the cart closing in. This won't be good cover for long. I turn my head and notice two men that make my blood go cold. It's Fenrir Greyback talking to a man I met last year. He looked the same mostly. A year ago I think even the same day as today I didn't really get a good look at him but now I see he's a tall man but not as tall as the monster standing next to him. His long brown hair is in the same messy state it was a year ago. His skin was fair like he hadn't been outside in a long time and his eyes were bluish grey that were staring right at me right next to Fenrir Greyback's primal blue black eyes. Greyback licked his teeth slowly at me as him and the other man were watching the scene before them.
"Pretty Potter you're being no fun" I heard Marcus's voice.
He was too close.
I instantly jumped back as much as I could and casted "confringo" before I hit the ground. I saw three boys bodies fly back as the cart exploded.
"That enough fun for you" I quickly tried to run away as I limped not knowing where I was going but just kept going as I could hear Marcus screaming.
"You'll regret this Pretty Potter" He screamed so angrily. Why did this boy hate me so much as I heard him scream again "I'll make you pay" Oh this school year is going to be fun I can just tell as I reached a dead end. I sighed out loud. I can't catch a break can I especially as I hear footsteps approach me. I expected Marcus, Adrian and Graham but instead what I saw I wished for them.
"Hello again love I didn't expect to see you down here again but you don't have the best luck do you lovely?" The man that was standing by Fenrir was now stalking towards me with a group of men behind.
"Stand back" I trembled pointing my wand at him.
"She speaks and she's grown some bite too. I don't think I introduced myself to you I'm Scabior" he quick deep bow with his hand flown up it was almost friendly "and this is my band of merry men and you see we've been locked away for a couple months now, just got out. Let's just say we've been quite lonely" I gulp trying not to cry as my back has now hit the wall.
"You talk too much you come any closer and you'll regret it" I make my voice loud but it doesn't make it sound any less afraid.
"Oh you got feisty, impressive what you did back there good timing with those little boys but do you think that you take all of us men. I don't think you could...in a duel anyways" His men laugh behind him at a joke I couldn't really understand.
"You talk too much" I lifted my wand to cast a spell but he disarmed me quickly. I let out a sob as my wand flew out of my hand. But it wasn't far from me I noticed.
"Is your name Pretty Potter?" He said conversational as he took a step towards me "Pretty suits you but Potter, any relation to Harry Potter?"
"Come now Scabior we've waited long enough" One of his men called from behind him.
"And how do you know I won't just keep her for myself" he turns to them stepping back towards them.
"You are right I do talk too much love but for what I need you for you won't have to talk at all petrificus totalus" he casts the spell and on instinct I throw my arms out in front on me thinking of "salvio hexia." I close my eyes waiting for the spells impact but it never came. I open them to find the men have all stepped away from me looking confused but Scabior was where he was before not moving. He had his head tilted to the side with an eyebrow raised at me. He looked intrigued as I looked very confused. Scabior looked as if he was about to say something but then spell was casted from above and one of his men flew back in a wall. I quickly went for my wand as Scabior tried to come towards me but a "confringo" flew down at his feet from the roof where the spells and hexes were being cast from attacking Scabior's men.
"Tap the bricks It's the same spell to get into diagon alley" A man called to me from up above.
I did as he said and the wall opened. I went through it as soon as I could and Scabior jumped towards me the wall reclosing the only thing between us. He gave me a smirk and little wave of his fingers before it closed. I sighed out in relief. But right after I heard a meow from the roof. The roof where the man was that helped me. I didn't get to see his face but Midnight was making it down to me by the pipes. She eventually jumped in my arms. She started rubbing her face against mine purring happily but as I start to walk away knowing where I am is close to The Leaky Cauldron she started hissing violently in my arms I look down at her confused turning around to look where I was and the sight makes me physically jump back. Fenrir Greyback was staring me down not even a foot from me. He looked even bigger than he does far away. He made me freeze as Midnight bared her teeth at him almost growling. He doesn't say a word that almost makes himself more frightening. He just stares at me, licking his lips as he slowly makes his way towards me. He is practically in arms reach of me but I can't move. I am just staring at him wide eyed as I can feel Midnight's claws coming out as she's sounds that she's going to attack. I'm staring into his blue eyes that have black where white should be. But I finally break out of this trance when I hear a voice.
"Mira" I hear from behind me it was Ginny. Fenrir looks above my head as I take a step back as I cried out Ginny's name. I suddenly hear running towards me multiple steps someone's with Ginny.
"Another time little one" Greybacks growls out and then disappears into thin air.
But even with him gone I didn't feel safe.
