Chapter 1
It all started with letters. To be honest I was more curious about the village of owls outside than what the letter said. It was all very strange, too strange for uncle Vernon. Because next minute he packed us up to the middle of ocean. I thought it was a bit much but Dudley said he lost his mind anyway.
But then Hagrid came. He was a kind giant that took us away. Then we went to a place called Diagon Alley. The most interesting part is when we got our wands.
There was a man on a ladder when we walked into shop.
"I wondered when I'd be seeing the Potter twins. It seems only yesterday that your mother and father were in here buying their first wands" he said as he descended the ladder.
He then picked a wand and handed it to me. "Give it a wave" he said.
I did and a whole case of wands toppled over.
"I'm so sorry" I said absolutely horrified.
"Oh don't worry it happens all the time" He said looking like he was deep in thought.
He went to the back for a minute and brought back a wand that he slowly handed to me like he wasn't sure if I was meant for it.
When he handed it to me I knew it was mine, I wave it and the case of wands I wreaked got put back together.
Harry eyes got wide and gave me a smile while the owner looked down wondering.
"Well that happens very rarely" he then went on with Harry like he didn't want to dwell on me finding my wand.
My wand turned out to be unique one, a very unique one. It has a Rowan wood handle with a Alder wood body with a unicorn core. Ollivander thought combining wand woods was dangerous but he thought this was the only wand in his possession that was the best fit for me.
Harry did the same as me trying out the wands. Once again the man went to the back to get the wand he knew was for him. But when Harry tried it there was just a glow around him and a wind that blew. And I think the wand Harry was given was not for him. It was a wand similar to the man's wand that gave him that scar. Why in the world would the owner give him that wand? But before I could question it Hagrid came.
Hagrid got me an Egyptian Mau, I named her midnight.
Then me and Harry had to get to the train station. We couldn't find the platform at first but then we ran into a family that showed us the way. On the train we sat with one of the boys from the family Ron. "I'm Ron, by the way. Ron Weasley." He introduced himself after he sat down.
"I'm Harry. Harry Potter and this is my sister Mira" He tilted his head towards me and I smiled.
"So-so it's true? I mean, do you really have the...the..." why did he have to bring this up.
"The what?" oh Harry.
" Scar...?" I'm kind of annoyed by this boy to be honest.
"Oh" Harry lifts up his bangs. I gave him a look and he just shrugged. That isn't something to be showing off in my opinion but I was keeping my thoughts to myself.
"Wicked." said Ron. What was he a fanboy since his attention was completely on Harry not that I cared. I didn't like attention anyway, Harry can have it. I just remained silent and cuddled with Midnight. I haven't let go of her since Hagrid gave her to me.
Then a candy trolley came into the compartment. She asked if we wanted anything and Ron said he was good with his sad looking sandwich. "We'll take the lot!" Harry says as he pulls out the coins we got from Hagrid.
"Harry" I said in a disapproving tone.
"It's fine Mira" and that's the last thing Harry said to me on the train ride. Him and Ron just talked and ate. Ron didn't bother to talk to me, which honestly I didn't mind. Harry liked him though I could tell. I just sat there awkwardly with my cat in way fading into the window next to me. Then a girl came in.
She was looking for someone's toad. I would've helped but she seemed somewhat intimidating and I didn't really want to leave Harry. Nothing else really happened on the train ride until we got there.
Everything seemed unreal when we got off the train. The castle was amazing like one you would see in a fairy tale. We were with a group of first years like us when we got inside. Then a boy approached us.
"It's true then, what they're saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts" he came in front of us looked at Harry then me.
He gave me a smirk "and his sister as well."
He introduced his friends then himself "I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." he looked at Harry then me and grabbed my hand to kiss it.
I was surprised and giggled a little. He was too young to do that but he did it in such a charming way it made me blush. Then Ron snickered and Draco started to say some nasty things that showed who he was.
"Well, soon find that some wizarding families are better than others, Potters. Don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there." Draco looking between me and Harry. He extended his hand out to Harry and smiled at me.
" I think I can tell who the wrong sort are for myself, thanks" I knew Harry wasn't going to accept his offer but I didn't mind the boy. Yes, I didn't like what he said to Ron but he was the only person that acknowledged me since I got my wand.
Draco turned to me "And what about you?'' he said with animosity in his voice that I didn't like.
"I go where my brother goes" I gave him a genuine apologetic smile.
"Unfortunate" He said with a huff before Professor McGonagall tapped him on the shoulder. Then we went into the great hall for sorting.
Harry got sorted first into Gryffindor ,now it was my turn.
Everyone was looking at me and the hat was scary. I hated this, I looked for Harry's eyes but he was talking to Ron. The hat just kept going "hmm this is more difficult than your brother." So, I looked over and I made eye contact with Draco. He just gave me a smirk but he was something I can concentrate on, so I'm not actually thinking about what is happening.
"Your eyes go to Slytherin but Slytherin is not for you" ok I guess I'm just going to look down at my feet like an idiot.
"You have the mind for Slytherin maybe a better mind than all the people at that table in time but not the ambition" oh thanks.
"What to do with you.....You have the heart for Hufflepuff and your soul is in Ravenclaw but they will both just eventually prevent you from going to the length that you can go" the hat is just huffing and puffing for a while.
After a long sigh "It is your end that will make you a GRYFFINDOR" my end.
What does it mean my end?
I didn't have much time to think about it. I had people cheering around me, it took everything in me not to cover my face. All the Gryffindors were so intimidating except for Neville Longbottom. That was the one friend I made that night and he became my best friend. I look over at Slytherin and Draco just gave me a glare like he was doing to my brother.
My brother made lots of friends. He didn't talk to me much at school after he made familial bonds with Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. But that was fine I had Midnight and Neville. I was happy with that, well for first year anyways maybe second year will be different.
Rowan wood- was a prized wand wood due to its reputation for protection. Ollivander, who had a nearly photographic memory when it came to the he had sold, could not recall a single instance of a wizard he sold a rowan wand to ever becoming evil or turning to the Dark Arts. Perhaps for these reasons, rowan has become associated with pure-hearted wizards , though Ollivander noted that rowan wands can also match or even outperform others in duels. Ollivander also noted that wizards chosen by rowan wands tend to be compatible with those chosen by elder wands.
Alder wood- Garrick Ollivander has discovered that its ideal owner is not stubborn or obstinate, but often helpful, considerate and most likeable. When an alder wand is happily placed, it becomes a magnificent, loyal helpmate. Of all wand types, alder is best suited to non-verbal spell work, whence comes its reputation for being suitable only for the most advanced witches and wizards.
Unicorn hair- Wands with these cores produced the most consistent magic, were least subject to fluctuations and blockages, were most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts, and were the most faithful of wands.
