Flustered, Kazuichi x reader
"Yellooo? Is anybody here?" A new, feminine voice asked, her voice echoing around the large, plain room.
Kazuichi kicked at the wall, launching his rolling scooter back and pushing him out from underneath the car he was working on.
"Heh?"
From what he could see while being on his back upside-down, there was a girl standing in his workshop.
Now, that in and of itself was strange enough. Not many people bothered stopping by, especially not girls. Additionally, he had never seen this girl before in his life.
She was looking around the workshop curiously, wearing a leather jacket, a t-shirt that he couldn't read while upside-down, and a pair of ripped jeans. Her hair was wavy, h/c, and medium length, with f/c streaks down the right side.
Her right, his left, he thinks. Or was it the same right?
She was hot, and Kazuichi could already feel his face heating up. He flipped around, sitting up and waving, trying to act natural.
"Um, hi! Or, hey- Uh- I'm Kazuichi. I haven't seen you around before. Are you new?"
Mission success? Maybe? The girl giggled.
"I am." She held up a peace sign and grinned. "Ultimate Broadway Actress. I'm part of your class, but I just got back from a tour. I like your hair."
Kazuichi blinked, his face on fire. Of course he had to be all awkward like this now. "Thank you! I really like your jacket! What's the logo on it?"
"Huh? Oh, that's a patch my mom stuck on there. It's my mom's old jacket, she gave it to me." The girl smiled and walked towards the car.
"I'm Y/n, by the way. I don't think I said that earlier. Y/n L/n." She ducked down to look at the car, ignoring a puddle of motor oil that began to seep into the knees of her jeans. "What'cha working on?"
Kazuichi hurried over. "Just break repairs. Nothing special, really. You should see the bikes I'm working on, though!"
Y/n sat down on the concrete floor, leaning back on the palms of her hands. "Like what?"
She seemed genuinely interested, which was a new accomplishment for Kazuichi. He tried to play it off as normal, but the excitement in his voice was unmistakable.
"It's my masterpiece! My magnum opus, at least so far! It's a bike that can go at a top speed of 585 miles per hour!"
"Impressive. That's super cool!"
"Really?!"
"Yeah!" Y/n flicks her hair and flutters her eyelashes. "Maybe you could give me a ride sometime?"
Kazuichi felt his brain malfunction. She was flirting, right? That was totally her flirting. Ok, play it cool, play it cool.
"I dunno," Kazuichi put on a mock-thinking expression and looked at her, "do you think a pretty girl like you can handle it?"
She smiled. "Hm... maybe~. Maybe I should hold on to you, just in case."
Kazuichi felt like he might have a heart attack. That was totally flirting. Did she mean it? Was she really interested? How did he even manage to get her interested, he was never able to get anywhere with Sonia-
"Can I have your number?" The words came tumbling out of his mouth before he could think about them. Y/n raised an eyebrow.
Fuck, shit, that was too sudden. Stupid mouth saying stupid things like a stupid idiot-
"Yeah, sure. Here, just put yours in my phone and I'll text you."
...that worked.
"Uh-" Kazuichi fumbled to pull out his phone, grinning widely. "Yeah! Yeah, sure! Awesome, thank you!"
They exchanged numbers, Kazuichi marveling at his incredible luck and Y/n happily watching his over-excited reaction. She shot him a short text and stood up.
"I've probably gotta get going," She stated. Kazuichi nodded.
"Yeah, totally. It was cool meeting you! I guess I'll see you around?"
"Yeah." Y/n smiled.
"And, hey," She stopped at the exit of his workshop, turning around.
Kazuichi looked up from the energy drink can he grabbed. "Yeah?"
"I'm serious about that ride, if you're willing. Text me, ok? Bye."
She left, leaving Kazuichi completely and totally flustered.
