Gundham x veterinarian reader
If you've ever had a hamster, you'll know that they can and will die at a drop of a hat.
Gundham Tanaka had four hamsters.
This was the reason that you were highly concerned when Gundham all but broke down the door to your cabin, holding a dripping orange ball of fluff in his hand.
"Healer! I am in desperate need of your craft! One of my Dark Devas has fallen!"
He looked truly distressed, and you held the door open for him, immediately snapping into work mode.
"Put him on the desk," You instructed, rushing alongside him. From what you could tell, one of his hamsters had fallen in the pool or ocean and nearly drowned, judging by the ball of dripping fur in Gundham's hands.
You bit your lip. "Depending on how bad it is, there might not be much I can do. Hold on." You looked around your cabin desperately for a cloth or other material small enough to wrap the hamster in.
There was nothing.
Curse this island.
You looked down at your sleeve, then grabbed the the hem in your teeth and tore. A good sized chunk of your sleeve came off, and you wrapped the fabric around the shivering mammal. Gundham watched you in worried silence as you cupped the animal gently in your warm, soft hands, poking gently in various places.
"Did he swallow any water?"
"I don't believe so."
"Inhale any?"
"Not as far as I am aware. He was not in the water for longer than a minute, but, of course, I knew that his earthly form was delicate and required immediate attention."
You nod, sighing with relief. "You did well, bringing him to me. I'm not sure what I would have done if he inhaled too much water, but... nevermind that." You shook your head. "Right now, we need to get him warm."
You sat down on your bed, running your thumb gently over the rodent's quivering body. Gundham crossed the room and sat down beside you, eyes not leaving his Dark Deva.
He really does care for them, doesn't he?
"Which Deva is this?" You asked timidly, watching Gundham take the end of his scarf and dab at the hamster's wet head.
"Cham-P." He responded, hesitating. "Will he be alright?"
You nodded. "I think he will. The most we can do is keep him warm and dry him off."
You held the animal out to Gundham. "Here. He'll be more comfortable with you."
Gundham nodded and took him, tucking him into his scarf. The other Dark Devas quickly hurried to Cham-P's side, cuddling with him. The sight was so overwhelmingly wholesome, all you could do was watch.
After a minute, Gundham let out a deep sigh of relief.
"He's alright."
Then, he turned to you, taking your hand. He rolled the ripped frays of your sleeve in between two fingers for a moment, then lifted your hand to his mouth, kissing it.
"Thank you, healer. Thank you so much."
