Angel, Gundham x reader

"I have told you, angel, that I am weak to water-types!" Gundham yelped as you tugged on his arm again, continuing to march stubbornly towards the pool and smiling at the nickname. Gundham had taken to it ever since you demonstrated your ability as the Ultimate Horticulturist. He claimed 'the care and beauty you brought through your subjects was unmatched, such skill only able to come from a divine being.' You thought it was high praise for what at the end of the day boiled down to a bunch of plants, but Gundham seemed set on it.

Right now, however, judging by the expression on his face, he was rethinking being in a relationship with you in the first place.

You laughed. "You are Tanaka the great and powerful! You must not let yourself be held back by an enemy such as this!"

"Do not underestimate the power of water-types!"

You ignored him, practically dragging him the final few feet through the pool gate and shoving your tote bag into his hands.

"Now, choose your training armor! I picked a few different colors and patterns from the store, pick the ones you like and give the rest back to me so I can return them. The locker room is that way."

Gundham sighed, bringing his hands up to his scarf and collecting the Dark Devas, setting them on a pool chair.

"Very well." He turned to the hamsters. "I shall return shortly."

You took a seat, pulling a bag of sunflower seeds out of your pocket for the Devas and watching your boyfriend retreat to the boy's locker room to change.

When Gundham says that he is 'weak to water types' he means that he cannot swim, something that you planned to remedy. Gundham himself was a little apprehensive, but that was because he was afraid of breaking his dark and edgy character for something as typical as swimming.

You chalked his grandiose nature up to what was probably some form of Chuunibyou syndrome, and you did your best to play along. You found it rather endearing and quite exciting, so you hardly minded when he acted strange. Chuunibyou syndrome or not, you still loved him.

You heard footsteps, and you looked up from stroking San-D to see Gundham in a pair of plain black swim trunks, shirtless but still with his scarf wrapped around his neck.

Your face heats up at the sight, and you quickly set San-D down. "You look great!"

Gundham looks away, pulling his scarf up over his face. "Thank you."

You smile and kick off your shorts, pulling your shirt off over your head to reveal your (best color) bathing suit.

Gundham's face went a little red as well. He cleared his throat. "Ahem... I assume we should... get started, then."

"Yeah! Yeah, that." You grinned, making your way to the edge of the pool and canonballing in. You plunged into the cool liquid and resurfaced, doing an Ariel hair-flip and slinging water behind you. Gundham watched from the pool chairs, still blushing.

You smiled, walking back over to the edge. "Just slide in, and we can start working on basic arm motions."

He did, gently sitting on the edge and sliding into the water, his movements barely making a ripple in the water.

That was another thing you loved about Gundham. No matter how rough or odd he may act, he has a certain beauty and grace in the way he moved and carried himself that you just couldn't get enough of.

He still hasn't removed his scarf yet. You remind him of this and he hesitantly removes it and tosses it to the side, looking a little nervous.

You smiled, "You look good."

He immediately turns red, and makes to pull his scarf up over his face, except it isn't there. He has a brief on the spot panic attack, then settles for turning away from you, lifting one hand to cover his face.

"Thank you, angel"

You grinned and started teaching him the basics. He learned very fast, easily getting comfortable with the kickboards and arm motions. The four Dark Devas of Destruction watched from the pool chair, sharing a leaf of lettuce. Once Gundham was comfortable with the shallow end of the pool, you packed up the Devas and moved to the deep end.

You wrapped your arm around Gundham happily, carrying your tote bag in your other hand. "You're doing amazing! I'm really proud of you!"

Gundham smiled shyly. "Thank you, angel. Are you going to get in?"

He gestured to the deep end. You shook your head. "I think you've got it. I believe in you!"

Gundham nodded and jumped into the water with confidence. You watched him swim a few practice laps, cheering him on before turning your attention to your tote bag. After fishing around in it for a minute, you pulled out a bag of Doritos and immediately popped seven in your mouth.

Gundham's face grew into an evil smile.

You were licking the Dorito dust off of your left fingers when a strong, pale hand wrapped around your wrist and pulled you headfirst into the water. You gasped as you broke the surface of the water, kicking your legs violently.

"MY CHIPS! GUNDHAMM!!!"

Gundham grinned. "My deepest apologies, angel."

"Yeah, you're gonna be sorry," you grumbled, lifting back your hand. Gundham had roughly three seconds to react before a great wave of water came splashing at him. "FOR THE DORITOS!"

This cry had barely left your lips when you suddenly caught a mouthfull of water, inhaling a large portion of it and starting to cough.

"Oh, *cough* you're gonna pay for that."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You and Gundham pulled yourselves out of the pool, wet, exhausted, and happy. Even the Devas had decided to join in on the fight and were currently throwing sunflower seed shells at each other.

You flopped on the concrete next to your boyfriend, laughing.

Your hand slipped into his.

"I love you, Gundham."

"I love you more, my angel."
