That Day Where Dumbledore Made Everyone in Slytherin Mad.

Hadrian’s POV -

Hadrian had just finished eating breakfast when a note appeared on his plate.

Please come to meet me in my office. I find myself liking Sweetish Fish today.

Albus Dumbledore

Hadrian sighed and Draco looked at him in concern. Hadrian showed him the note and Draco nodded. Hadrian got up and he went towards the Teacher’s table. Severus looked him in the eyes and nodded. Severus got up and led him to the Headmaster’s office.

Severus and Hadrian made it to the office and said the password. They went up the stairs and opened the door to the office.

“Ah, Harry my boy -”

“Hadrian Peverell-Potter,” Hadrian interrupted. Dumbledore smiled. I guarantee that smile is fake.

“Of course. Severus, I do not believe I requested your presents and I’m sure you have things to be doing. You are free to leave,” Dumbledore said.

“I have been requested to stay,” Severus says plainly.

“I’m sure you aren’t needed,” Dumbledore replied.

“What you think at the moment is irrelevant,” Severus said. Hadrian hid a chuckle. Dumbledore glared at Severus.

“What did you call me here for?” Hadrian asked.

“I was wondering where you are planning to stay over the break. I’m sure your relatives would love to have you over at their house for the summer,” Dumbledore said with a smile. Hadrian felt his ring heat up and immediately reinforced his occlumency shields.

“What my plans are frankly, none of your concern,” Hadrian said.

“Yes, but as your magical guardian, I must ensure you are safe,” Dumbledore said.

Hadrian looks at Severus in the eyes.

AN - The Italics underlinedare thoughts said in someone’s head via legilimency. This is done when someone places thoughts outside of the other person’s shield. It's not easy to do and you have to have a lot of trust in the person you are doing it with. Also, they happen relatively quickly because the thoughts are placed directly into the person’s head. So while the conversation between the two might seem like it would take a few minutes, it would happen in seconds instead. Another thing, I understand that “said” or “says” doesn’t sound right in the context, but they are still saying it. Just in each other’s heads. :)

Are you okay with me telling him that you are my godson? Severus asked.

Sure, just something to get him to lay off. However, he might start to go after you and you aren’t prevalent outside of Slytherin. Even then, many of the dark families still see you as a traitor to Voldemort. Hadrian replied.

They’ll understand. They were sorted into Slytherin too. Severus said.

If you’re sure. Hadrian says.

“Well, then I’m sure you are aware that I am his magical guardian now, as his godfather,” Severus said. Dumbledore stared at Severus. Hadrian hid a smirk.

“Well then, I’m sure you both are busy. Harry -”

“Mr. Peverell-Potter,” He interrupted.

“Mr. Peverell-Potter, I would like to speak to Severus. You may go,” Dumbledore said.

Hadrian glanced at Severus.

Are you going to be okay? Hadrian asked.

Yes. Severus replied.

You have lordship rings, right? Hadrian asked.

Yes. I got them a few months after the Dark Lord’s defeat. Severus answered.

Good luck. Hadrian said.

Thanks, now go do your homework brat. Severus said fondly. He probably knows I already did all my homework. Hadrian left the office and went to the Slytherin Common Room where he was bombarded with questions from his fellow yearmates.

“But seriously, are you okay?” Theo asked. Hadrian smiled.

“Yes, I’m fine.” He replied.

“You were called into Dumbledore’s office?” An older year asked. Hadrian nodded. The entire room looked at him.

“Why?” Someone asked.

“Because he can’t mind his own business,” Hadrian replied.

“Valid,” Someone commented.

“He couldn’t mind his own business if his life depended on it,” Another said.

“Too true,” An older year said.

The portrait entrance to the room opened revealing one Severus Snape.

Did they ask about the meeting?Severus asked. Hadrian gave him a slight nod.

“Sev, how did the meeting go?” Draco asked.

“It went fine,” Severus replied.

The other Slytherins nodded and went back to what they were doing.

~A few days later~

Hadrian and the rest of his first years were in the library doing their homework.

“Hey Harry, want to play exploding snap or chess?” A voice asked from behind them.

Hadrian ignored the voice.

“Harry, it's not nice to ignore people!” Another voice yelled. Hadrian felt a slap to his arm and looked at the duo behind him. Weasley and Granger, not like he expected anyone else.

“You know, it's not nice to hit people,” Draco said. Weasley growled at Draco.

“Well, we weren’t talking to you were we?” Granger said sharply. Hadrian rolled his eyes.

“Regardless, what do you want?” Hadrian asked.

“I believe that our intentions for coming here were stated previously,” Granger stated. Hadrian resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Hadrian got up and started to pack his things away. The other Slytherins followed his lead. The duo looked at them. Hadrian started to go out of the library and turned left.

“Hey, Harry! We were thinking we could play in the Great Hall!” Weasley yelled. Hadrian ignored them and kept walking.

“HEY! Don’t ignore me!” Weasley yelled. Hadrian and his friends kept walking away. Weasley must have done something stupid like pulling out his wand because Greg and Vincent I stopped walking and stooped behind them. Facing the duo. Hadrian looked at Draco who motioned for them to keep walking.

Eventually, the group of first years reached the Slytherin common room without incident,

~A few days later~

Hadrian received a letter from an unknown owl.

Dear Lord Peverell-Potter-Black,

There is a bill coming up in the next Wizengamot session. The bill is known as the “New Direction Bill” and its main goal is to allow the reshuffling of seats in the Wizengamot.

Hadrian perused his lips.

The bill is being presented by the Light Faction and at the moment, the Minister is pushing for it to pass. The Dark Faction is trying to persuade the Netrual side to vote with us but so far our efforts have been useless. It would be wonderful for you to help us in this endeavor.

From,

Lord Lucius Malfoy of the Noble House of Malfoy.

Hadrian withheld a sigh. Who do I know, has parents on the Wizengamot? Hadrian showed the letter to Draco.

“What do you want to do about it?” Draco asked.

“The Zanbinis will not vote in favor of this bill, right?” Hadrian asked. Draco nodded.

“Anyone who has any respect for the Old Ways will not vote for this bill,” Draco commented. Hadrian nodded.

“So what about people like the Abbots or the Diggorys?” Hadrian asked.

“I don’t think they will, but they might,” Draco replied.

“This is going to be a pain, isn’t it,” Hadrian muttered under his breath. Draco nodded. “Can we call a house meeting tonight? This is going to be a major problem for a lot of the Slytherins and they should know. We also need to be proactive and help the Dark in any way possible.”

“What time do you want?” Draco asked.

“Around 8:30. It shouldn't take that long,” Hadrian answered. Draco nodded.

~Around 8:30 PM~

A few Slytherins filed into the back of the Slytherin common room. Severus was standing at the back of the room in front of his office door. Hadrian was sitting on a sofa. Draco and a few other Slytherins were sitting on the one next to him. Hadrian took a deep breath.

“Thank you for meeting me here. There is a bill being brought to the Wizengamot that I believe needs our attention. The bill’s main goal is to reshuffle the Wizengamot seats.”

There was immediate outrage at that sentence. The Wizengamot had stayed the same since its founding.

Hadrian cleared his throat and continued speaking. “While I understand the outrage at that statement, there is a way to stop it from happening. Currently, the Dark Faction of the Wizengamot, who are against the bill, doesn't have enough seats to stop it. Are mission is to convince anyone who has a Wizengamot seat to vote in our favor. This doesn’t just mean Ravenclaws though, this means the entire school, including Gryffindors. While they may be famous for being Dumbledore’s people, not all are. We need all the help we can get to stop this bill from passing.”

The Slytherins looked at each other, then nodded.

“We will convince them,” one of the Slytherins said.

Another one nodded. “Even though we hate Gryffindors, this bill cannot pass.”

“Thank you for taking the time to come to the meeting. If you have any questions, feel free to come to me or the Slytherin Prince,” Hadrian said. The group of Slytherins dispersed.

Severus approached Hadrian.

“Everything okay?” He asked. Hadrian nodded.

“We have time,” Hadrian replied. “You saw how mad they were. They won’t let their prejudice get in the way of this.” Severus nodded. “Speaking of which, is there any way for me to attend the meeting on Saturday? I have no classes and as a Lord have a right to attend.”

“I believe so, you’ll just have to floo from my office to the Wizengamot,” Severus replied. Hadrian nodded.

“Dumbledore is going to throw a fit about this,” Hadrian said.

“No doubt about it,” Severus commented. “How many people do you think will change their minds?”

“Probably a little less than half if we are lucky. If we aren’t and the bill still passes, I have a way to stop it,” Hadrian explained.

“Care to share?” Severus asked, intrigued.

“No. I think I’ll keep it a secret for now,” Hadrian said with a smirk. Severus sighed fondly.

Albus Dumbledore’s POV -

Albus sat in his office. Albus sighed as he looked over his notes for the next Wizengamot meeting. If only I still had control over those seats! Then I wouldn’t need to go through all this trouble! And those two puppets of mine aren’t being useful! Get him to be friends with you, I’ll even make it for you and cast a ton of compulsions on him! But they somehow manage to screw that up! HOW! They can't do anything right even if their life depended on it. And Severus! That fool took control of Harry’s seats! I needed those! And he took his guardianship too! How did he even find that out!? I ensured that no one would!

~Third Person POV but no one specific’s POV~

The portraits of previous headmasters watched as Dumbledore paced and fumed. Fawkes let out a sad trill. The bird wasn’t Dumbledore’s Familiar as he was loyal to the school. But since Dumbledore was headmaster, he had to be loyal to him.

The portrait of former headmaster Armando Dippet sighed. How did I get fooled so easily as to let this power-hungry fool run Hogwarts?

The portrait of one Phineus Black smirked. I can’t wait to see what my descendant will do next. He is truly a Slytherin through and through.

All the portraits shared two thoughts in particular. One is that Dumbledore would run the school into the ground should he continue. And two, that Hadrian Peverell-Potter would save the school.
